From annoying attention seeker to brilliant observer, writer and performer, that is Brett in a nutshell. He rocks more on stage than people half his age. Saw Suede last week: brilliant.
WOW! Cosa chiedere di più? Suede che si esibiscono, Brett meraviglioso che parla con la sua voce sussurrante, Gary Oldman che recita in tv e un poster di David Bowie... tutto meraviglioso! Grazie per la condivisione.
1996 saw them leic de mont fort hall, a very good gig indeed brett was just a great frontman in suede, great songs, very articulate witty funny sad, just perfect, first 2 albums were just gems, they were true originals.
Does anybody know how can I find the acoustic version of The Big Time that Brett and Bernard play on here? Are there more videos of that session here on youtube? 💖💖
Have to say that if I came across a video of a band I didn't like, I would just not watch it. Don't understand the point of coming to places like this and slagging things off. There are loads of things I can't stand, I'd rather leave them to the people who do enjoy them than start ranting.
Love bowie, do not see a connection, there sound had the 1990s society was going to change forever and suede were there to be just true originals just be yourself, i know brett was builled a bit by the lads, but he was not scared to be different.
There is no arguing that their eponymous debut album is a classic. And as far as them having started Britpop.....no no no no, "Suede" (the album) has nothing in common with the tsunami of cack that would follow:. Suede were an outsider band in the best long-gone British tradition, a band of misfits loved by misfits and square pegs completely at odds with the chav-inclusive beery sing-along , arms-around-shoulders warm vomit hawked by the likes of Oasis.....
I like Suede and their album is very good albeit a bit 70's Bowie which is no bad thing. So why doesn't Brett show this on stage? He seems to be happy to just standing on the stage singing. No movement or kicking the kids in the face. That's a bit too punk for them. Sorry I don't know what I'm talking about either
He's known for his crazy onstage presence! The whole band sway/swing in playing instruments/singing. They're practically dancing. Check em out on animal nitrate single vid if you can't see it in the documentary 😅

Yes. Good band
What a gorgeous band, just love them.
"no-one ever writes about suburban housewives, so I wrote Sleeping Pills". Cheers Brett.
Little Molly Walker. I hope she's still a fan!
Only knew two kids in my entire school that had heard of Suede in 95' and they happened to be the coolest ones.

Gotta love Molly Walker. The only estate she’d seen had a gatehouse with hanging baskets
Brett writing remains superb, thank Christ!
Brett you helped me, your so clever misfits are every where, but its just abour being yourself, at nearly 50 im happy to still be this way.
Actually one of the best rockumentaries I have seen in a long time. They are all so brutally honest and direct.
that Sugar poster really stood out from her room decorations xD
So cool watching them write "stay together"
Suede were something else
This is badass.

17.04 Bowie poster right underneath Brett, that can't have been accidental (gret shot tho)
Absolutely, one of the best in Brit-Pop ,how wonderful they were bringing us all our memories together 👏👏👏👍👍👍
Tell me he wasn't so beautiful...
Great doc ... can't believe I didn't see this originally! Was it a regional programme perhaps?
No I don't think so, I remember watching it on Channel 4- first in summer 1993 then it was repeated around Christmas time.
I didn’t see them till 96 sadly but we’re still good
Exec Producer Melvyn Bragg?!? Last I heard in 1993, he was stacking shelves in Tesco!! (© Keith Hunt)
I meant he was a target by the haywood heath lads back in his youth.
Check out their performance at the 1993 Brits 😂
❤
Why is everyone in the comments so anti suede?!!

Brett lied that none of this was gay. Some of their stuff if most certainly gay.

They absolutely were the first band labeled Britpop - and they hate that now - mostly because of what you describe.
100%
How long did it last though? Not long. A fling in the park. Of course it would have been with the casual boy or the servant boy
They are still going strong.

Ha just look at the kids. Totally entranced by the band. Now what has happened to them? Disappeared? Or too old to keep it going
have you seen Suede in the last 10yrs?? you are SO off base. they just finished up a tour, you should check it out.
Clearly it is you who is too old to keep up with them. Have you heard of Google? Or they don't cover that in your nursing home?
@@mikkam9375 yes I know. It is not shown at the nursing home I am resident at.
Here we only watch Sex Pistols videos
He's not much of a frontman. He is just standing there singing. I expected lots of moves and kicks. None of that. Basic camera work with basic singer
