Every archon quest, I end up repeating "is this the best Genshin's story has ever ever been?" That revelation the end literally made me gasp for air. They've done a good job keeping everyone enticed all these years.
Ryte?! Ahnd every story has a very different tone and philosophy that makes me so damn satisfied every time l:,) Mondstadt had a more straightforward fairy tail vibe with a Dragon attacking a town, and a hero coming in and saving it. Liyue was centered around humanity taking independence for themselves from those they deem god's who had governed them previously, and proving that they can do so. Inazuma showed how inflexibility in society for humanity is impossible and creates war and division, and that a society must be allowed to adapt and change with time. Sumeru showed the dangers of over-reliance on technology and intellect pursuance, and how the idolization of those things can lead to corrupt systems...and corruption in general. Fontaine delved into perceptions of justice, and how while anytime we may think we see the whole picture to judge it fairly, there is always more information and a new angle to see every situation from that can change our perception of what justice could be. Now here we are in a far more straightforward conflict, all out war against an overwhelming and unreasonable enemy, in which sacrifices and resolve are necessary in the conflict, as you can't save everyone and their is no perfect answer in war. However, the solutions we choose must always be looked at via their cost, as their are only trade-offs, no solutions.... I don't know why I felt compelled to detail my summary of the general theme of each archon quest here, buht that's what happened l,xD Aniwho, I particularly duhg Act 1-4 of this archon quest and am excited to see what's to come in it's conclusion l:) Thaynks for your video's on this game's ridonk lore Minsleif🤟🤟
35:58 (not so) fun fact! after competing Act IV, a bunch of NPCs around Natlan will disappear from the overworld bc they fell in the battle against the abyss! like for example probably the most recognizable NPC for most players will be Vichama as he played a pivotal role in Act II… if you go to the spot at the Scions of the Canopy where he’s usually hanging out you’ll find in his place a pair of flowers and his goggles 💔
36:28 - Special mention for Paimon's EN VA in this quest. She was the #1 thing that affected me during this quest, hearing Paimon's heartbreaking pleas. They really knocked that performance out of the park.
the cutscene where mavuika broke through the false sky was SO reminicent of the scene in the Hunger Games: Catching Fire where Katniss fires the arrow and destroys the arena.
Here's my prediction about a few things. 1) Capitano dies. I think the "final foe" he had to face was death - considering how hard it is for him to die it makes sense he'd consider his own death to be an opponent of sorts. I think his goal is to take Mauvika's place as the cost of using Ronova's power. 2) The Traveller will die and be resurrected. Of all predictions I have, I am most confident in this. The whole purpose of crafting an ancient name for the traveller was to secure his (assuming Aether here) safety in the event of his death - a LOT of screen time was dedicated to the creation of this ancient name. The principle of Chekhov's gun applies here: It would be very strange to not see the ancient name utilized in this way after spending so much time on it; likely this is when the Traveller will gain Pyro abilities in the story. 3) Speaking of which; I do believe the Traveller will become the Pyro Archon. For one, the fact that the Pyro Archon throne can be inherited seems, to me, to be extremely noteworthy. Mavuika resurrected herself and became the Pyro Archon a second time 500 years afterwards, but in terms of the story, she may as well have just been an immortal god like the other Archons and it would have changed nothing. Even if it's not the Traveller, I suspect someone new will take the Pyro Archon throne, even if temporarily. The Traveller becoming the Pyro Archon is both not that extreme considering what happened in Fontaine, and also solves a couple of narrative issues: If Capitano takes the Gnosis back to Shneznaya, there are no cards for the Traveller to play - the Fatui will already have every Gnosis and will be proceeding with their plan. Giving the Traveller the Gnosis gives him a reason to go the Shneznaya. Also...Aether couldn't even 4v1 Arlecchino. The idea that he's going to waltz into the Fatui's home-turf and accomplish anything other than getting extremely spanked is just ludicrous. If he inherits the power of an Archon though? That combined with his current strength suddenly makes the idea that he can be a threat to the Fatui in Shneznaya MUCH more believable. Let's see if I'm right!
Ok ok you touched on something I havent thought about. We all know how the summer events try to mirror or hint on future events in new nations but what you said about the MC not being the hero in the summer event blew my mind. We are so focused right now on us getting the name and how we have a reputation for saving nations etc etc...when it was the underdog (Wanderer/Capitano) all along who would save the land. Amazing!

No? We knew that he was a Captain from Khaenri’ah, did we not? It’s logical that he’d at least know of Dain, the Bough Keeper, and the friggin Prince(ss). He probably had to swear allegiance to them, if I understand late-Khaenri’an leadership structures correctly.

The abyss being based of Lovecraftian myth was not in my expectations before clicking this vid, but it does makes a lot of sense if you really think about it 😶🌫 Besides of the many references to the other-worldly Lovecraftian myths already being in the game. The new abyss enemy the Tenebrous Mimiflora is described as "Abyssal monsters that have descended to this world from the deep, dark depths of a twisted and alien world"
When "pale princess and the six pygmies " book was mentioned i remember the night mother's prophecy that she told to the pygmie "In thousands of years time, my greatest foe will descend. He wields a sword that heralds the dawn and wears armor that can reflect the shining sunlight. He shall destroy my kingdom and bring the Prince back to life. The Princess will then be free from her eternal torment. Until then, I fear not a single soul in the Land of Night, for nothing will bring an end to my kingdom except for the catastrophe foretold by the prophecy." This story was really interesting.

This was actually one of the archon quests that made me think "Oh sht, it's for real this time." because of the sacrifices during the war thing. Like you, I felt so fking powerless just watching civilian and saurian corpses on the ground. I was legit close to hyperventilating because you can't save everyone, but oh lord there were a LOT of confirmations and big lore bombs that were suddenly dropped. One running theory I had that kind of coincides with one of yours is that Capitano might be the one to sacrifice instead of Mavuika. The thing that you said about him like not having much time left and the really suspicious moment of him asking for help from the lord of the night because he also has a foe to face made me rethink about this theory. Also, he's said that his main goal to get the Gnosis was to save Natlan originally (y'know like the plan of the gnosis essentially making the giant net thing that would erase all memories but would save Natlan) and that returning it to the Tsaritsa was just a bonus. Just for this, I feel like Capitano would be the sacrifice to end the abyss- since he's very much dying anyway because of the rotting body thing. Mavuika of course would still die because it's a part of the deal she made with Ronova but at that moment, the traveler will come into possession with the pyro gnosis and since he's not from this world (therefore not really in the scope of the rules) he would be able to resurrect Mavuika. A possible hole in this is that Capitano asked for the help of the lord of the night and on top of that, he somehow has knowledge of the magic or the tricks from the masters of the night-wind AND he has the nightsoul blessing thing. This means that the ode of resurrection could work on him because he doesn't need the acknowledgement of the Wayob since y'know, the lord of the night is basically the main Wayob (and cause I really want him to be playable so badly T-T). However, Capitano is one to honor the rules and he did say he lost to Mavuika so he stopped seizing the gnosis (I think this was mentioned in the quest hence why he looked for the dragon relics to start the plan but I could be delulu here) so Traveler might be the one to negotiate/bring the gnosis to the Tsaritsa. You might ask why Mavuika would just give the gnosis willy-nilly to the Traveler well, I remember at the end of the Sumeru archon quest when Nahida mentioned giving both the dendro and the electro gnoses to the Dottore that having both of it in her possession would just cause far more trouble than its worth especially since it could be a potential cause of conflict and she has no need for it anymore (Ei severed ties with Celestia and Scara doesn't need it anymore since he no longer has full divinity, and Nahida shut down the Akasha- which was ultimately powered by the dendro gnosis). So since Mavuika doesn't need the pyro gnosis anymore because the abyss is gone, then she would just let the traveler have it. IDK I'm not really much of a big theorist person, I really like listening to loretubers and people more knowledgeable about the lore than me but this whole quest had me turning my brain gears LOL anyway, good video as always Miss Minslief!
Archons dying is a running theme, and it's kinda sus. Venti - a dead ringer for a bard that rebelled against Decarabian (former Anemo archon(?)). Zhongli - faked his death with the Exuvia, and won't talk about Khaenri'ah because of contract. Raiden - has a dead twin, and 2 puppet bodies (1unused being Scaramouche). Nahida - Ruukhadevata's reincarnation(?). Furina - Folcalors executed herself, but then who is Furina? An alter ego? Said it was to deceive the Heavenly Principles, but what if it's the traveler being deceived? Mavuika - predicted to die, but the outcome may turn out to be something similar to the other archons (where she's not actually dead). Also have a theory that Tsaritsa is collecting gnoses to revive a dead descender. But it's to fight the Heavenly Principles instead of the Abyss? I really have to wonder how Khaenri'ah took the blame for the Abyss disaster and formed the Abyss Order, when they also fought against the Abyss 500 years ago. I also thought that the hilichurl curse was due to actual archon/god death, much like how the salt god's death caused people nearby to turn into salt statues, so if an archon actually dies, a supernatural disaster should follow.
Someone pointed out that the markings on the moon beyond the firmament in Genshin are similar to the circular markings to the moon (or planet?) from HSR's log in screen... now that i think about it, there was a suspicious space toy train in Simulanka... HMMM
An interesting thing about Yohualtecuhtin's answers is that when she talks about who would be displeased by Ronova's actions, she accidently said almighty and quickly changes to Heavenly Principles. Yet when she talks about the elements, she properly says Heavenly Principles. It makes me think that she was about to said the true name of Heavenly Principles or name someone else and quickly change what she was saying to not get in trouble with whoever it is. Perhaps this almighty person is the second descender pretending to be Heavenly Principles.
Yes, that was sus. And we also need to account for the battle pass story of the princess who forgot who she was and was tricked by the serpent. I think it is more likely that the HP is that princess and was tricked by phanes to keep the great ark project going
You're not alone. The whole war portion had me upset and distressed, and Paimon's phenomenal acting made things stronger. Then Chuychu... I cried. I was thinking, "we know so many powerful people and factions, can't we get any help at all?!", and then anger for wondering how the sibling could possibly condone and justify this death and destruction.
heres my own theory about capitano so as we know he and ronova struck a deal with eachother and capitano has a final foe to face, its entirely possible that ronova is the one that cursed the khaenriahns and therefore can remove it, we also know she helped establish the rule in natlan maybe thats her own way of feeling guilty and redeeming herself for the devastation of khaenriah, and i do believe in a way that Capitano will "die", his symbol or sigil in the fatui is a 3 nail that is crossed together which represents for death and resurrection. and remember the 3 mages he mentioned (cuxtal, aberewaa, bosomtwe) apparently in some cultures aberewaa is the goddess of life, bosomtwe is connected to the dead and cuxtal is the god of birth which once again points to resurrection. of course we cant be sure of how he will die or what his and ronovas deal is although i made a few speculations 1: if he manages to save natlan his curse will be removed he will "die" and get resurrected by her with no curse or abyssal rot 2: a fight between capitano and ronova 3: capitano takes mauvikas role for sacrifice and sacrifices himself instead, but since he is "immortal" he bypasses the death given and the curse gets uplifted alongside the abyssal rot
I loved this archon quest a lil too much, even if I was basically sobbing half of the time💀 Only thing that made me a little sad was that we heard ronova before my all time favorite shade, istaroth, but still we better get more shade lore or I’ll cry no joke
Additional info: Yog Sothoth is also a character in Honkai Gakuen (Guns Girls Z) where she is basically a goddess that live outside time and space and rules the White Abyss in that game. her feats is also insane
What broke me most during the abyssal invasion was hearing Paimon crying and becoming traumatised upon arriving at hotspots only to see all humans/saurians already be dead. At one point, while flying with the hot baloon and witnessing all the death and destruction below, she said she can't take this anymore, and my heart just... 😢 This is Genshin's equivalent of HxH's Chimera Ants arc.

While I was doing my playthrough of the AQ, especially the War Segment, I was thinking there was something similar to the atmosphere then it clicked, Naruto's 4th Great Shinobi War. The enemies who were defeated or killed were just spores or just reincarnated while the shinobis are losing real lives and it is somewhat similar here. The Abyss can just keep on sending enemies they don't care about, while Natlan is losing its precious warriors.
yknow, a lot of people say that paimon maybe a fragment of the unknown god, but i went back and read the story of houkai impact 2/gun girlz. in ggz, there are 2 different characters representing paimon and the unknown god. theresa's design is nearly identical to paimon in the old story, and the first herrscher variant of kiana kaslana is pretty much identical in the old story as well. they are 2 very different characters, and theresa starts off as a gray area character, but she was never really a steady villain or anything, and is coerced pretty easily over to kiana and mei's side. kiana's herrscher form though... is a completely change of her character, as she destroys everything near and dear to her.
I personally believe that one final resolution for Mavuika will come from a constantly repeated line throughout Natlan's Archon Quests. "No one fights alone."
I do believe she will die, BUT as another Ancient Name Bearer made it out alive AND the battle was won... the Ode of Resurrection will bring her back as per the ancient contract. Capitano, I'm 50/50 on him, but I wholly expect Traveller to hold on to the Pyro Gnosis and deciding to be the one to bring it to the Tsaritsa themself, being well received there due to being under the Umbrella of our Fatui friends (Childe, Arleccino and Capitano if still living/undead)

The part where Paimon breaks was one of the hardest things i've seen in this game. There is no gore in Genshin, but they still manage to shows us the horrors of war. I have been listening to the Natlan orchestra song on repeat at the gym, the lyrics are just so inspiring. The Captain dialogue was indeed a massive lore bomb, but i have a feeling they are trickling the lore to us. This patch will be lore bomb after lore bomb and if the Harbinger wheel is right, the next Fatui Harbinger we are supposed to fight is Columbina... and after that its Capitano. I can hardly wait.
1:03:13 now then I want to add something to this. Both Yog-Sothoth and Azathoth actually exist in the Hoyoverse. They are Ultra powerful Outer-gods that have been shown in GGZ(the original Honkai impact 3rd). Yog-Sothoth is so far the most greatest and strongest being in the Imaginary-Tree(Hoyoverse). She's easily Tier 1-A outerversal to possibly boundless. She is known to be a mysterious Eldritch goddess who likes playing pranks on humans and other species, like the time she enlightened the Buddha (yeah she actually did this in the lore😅) or maybe something like granting a normal mortal great power. She is a being that has existed before the imaginary-Tree(Hoyoverse) itself. Now the abyss Tumour itself is called The "Mark of Yog-Sothoth" so It could very possibly have something to do with her though Mihoyo will never actually admit it Azathoth was story was her being the most powerful being in ancient Babylonia that was feared by every god, she always keeps her eyes close because they contain so much knowledge that seeing them can cause even the gods of babylonia to fall into deep depression for eons(no joke this actually happened to one of the gods). Even in the Hoyoverse character ranking scale Azathoth easily ranks 2nd only to Yog-Sothoth. Now there are still beings like "The Lord of The Myriad Realms", The being that created the very concept of "death" aka "Thanatos" the god that killed all the gods of her era and the death of the final god(Zeus) was what started the big bang which created the Mihoyo Multiverse, who we still have no idea who he/she actually is but most people seem to think that it's actually Yog-Sothoth herself.
I'm pretty positive the "death" Citlali sees in the Pyro Archon fate doesn't come from Mavuika, but the Archon title itself. Or it just refers to a non permanent death, knowing that dead characters aren't playable and Mavuika will for sure come in 5.3-4 (For the other hand, im not so sure about Capitano's survival). It might happen either by Mavuika dying and getting resurrected after, loosing her Archon tittle and it automatically passing to the next person (hopefully the traveler), or just sacrificing her tittle and just surviving by that means. And about the gnosis, knowing there haven't been any confirmation about Columbina and with Capitano's (hinted) imminent death, I kinda hope the traveler is the one who gives the gnosis to the Fatui.. it could be a pretty solid introduction to Snezhnaya making us give the gnosis to the Tsaritsa herself.. yk as our chance to know her. But Columbina would also be a pretty solid revelation if she appears in Natlan, knowing her angelic looks and her relation with death and the Wayobs.

This is all documented in the second ark of Honka Impact Part 1.5, give it a watch. After flying around for a long while, Griseo, the Flame-Chaser responsible for Project Ark returned to Earth after charting worlds on the edge of our solar system. Then, right after she set off again, she was ambushed by Sa, a godlike entity, and the Ark was brought down onto a planetoid that housed an artificial world. The parallels to the story of Teyvat are not lost on me, though. Teyvat could be either a product of an analogous sequence of events (just with someone else at the helm of the Arl, etc.), or my current theory, it could be a massive Bubble World/Bubble Universe in the Sea of Quanta. To give further credence to my claims, the Sea of Quanta is the only place in the Honkai universe where “wishes” are a legitimate power source. The aforementioned “god” Sa used this by creating “rules” that allowed people to convert “wishes” into material gains. It then siphoned off the energy produced when the Bubble Worlds were destroyed by the power imbalance. Hereby, I propose that Teyvat is an artificial recreation of the “surface” world, with it’s own Imaginary and Quantum (Light and Dark) realms, created by a stranded Project Ark equivalent. Teyvat would become the Ark that humanity would live on.
Yeah I'm still bummed about what they did with project ark in hl3 its a little underwhelming. I still like the theory of genshin impact being a product of Project Ark it's cope but better than what we got.
I know it's wishful thinking but considering that Enjou has appeared in 5.0 Kinich SQ and soon in 5.2 I hope Enjou also appears in the 5.3 AQ especially when The Traveler and Mavuika are arriving to the Night Kingdom and Enjou is just waiting for them to drop more Lorebombs regarding the Abyss, Gosoythoth, and the Abyss Order.
i'd like to add - if you zoom out the map of Natlan, and look carefully, there's a gigantic 3-finger claw mark shaped impression across it, which I don't see a lot of people talking about. just gonna leave it at that considering what happened in the limited time event with a giant dragon.
What if Nibelung is the one that destroyed travelers home planet being he stole forbidden knowledge from out this world and in one quest when looking at a picture of Nibelung in natlan u could see the traveler stunned or shocked and just paused and when paimon asks traveler says “it’s nothing” hinting at something.
related to the 4.8 summer event... if summer event really was some kind of foreshadows for the next region's archon quest, does that mean natlan will let go of the lord of the night and wayobs' protection anyway, in one way or another? just like people of constellation metropole letting go of their goddess' protection that made a lot of them stuck in place when smth bad gonna happen to them. the conservative person in metropole said that if they turn the gear, the 'tracks' in the city will disappear. it reminds me that the whole night kingdom and wayobs' protection will be no more if they decided to use the gnosis power to reconstruct the leyline. in the event we also have to 'reconstruct' the stars/constellation in the sky using the astral expre---i mean aerial express. 😅 does that mean that we bound to reconstruct natlan's leyline anyway...? and maybe after that natlanese can go out of their region and visit other nations without worrying about their physical and mental safety since they now have more stable leyline and don't need to rely on their wayob's protection anymore, just like simulanka people being able to visit teyvat after being free from the 'protection (a.k.a restriction)' made by their goddess. i didn't see any lore CC touch this topic yet though, so i could be totally wrong... 😅

52:53 as far as I know Phanes and Phenex are two different people. Phanes was the first of the Greek deity's, whose existence pre existed that of ouranous, gaia and tartarus ( the dragon sovereigns ) The titans ( the shining shades ) and the gods ( the archons, traveller etc.). Phanes was a deity of light and goodness, whose name meant "to bring light" or "to shine"; a first-born deity, he emerged from the abyss and gave birth to the universe. Nyx (Night) is variously said to be Phanes' daughter or older wife. Phanes seems to be a creature of the abyss who gained consciousness and created teyvat. It also says that Nyx, also known as night is their daughter or wife. Perhaps the Lord of the night is a creature of the abyss who long existed. That would explain her vast knowledge and power. However if Phanes is the primordial one then that means you do NOT have to be from outside teyvat to be a descender. This theory makes a ton of sense if you take into account one of Venti's voicelines. "Ah traveller we meet again, what? You don't remember me. My theory is that Aether and Lumine tried to leave teyvat but were stopped and had most of their memories erased. This means that whatever is out their beyond the firmanent of teyvat is either so dangerous to Phanes or teyvat as a whole that they are keeping people inside teyvat. If anyone has anything to add please share. ( Min please notice this I'm really proud of this one )
I'm disappointed that there have been 4 acts in Natlan already, all about the abyss, yet the only mention of the sibling was by Capitano, saying that he knew our sibling. That's all.

What is unfortunate is there are several times VA’s are left out due to the strike. It may not be Genshion’s fault, but it does cause a real hole in an otherwise excellent story. Give in to the VA’s request! Do the right thing and go for true quality over money!
I think Traveler's name could be shujaa which translates to 'Hero' Also i think the deal capitano has made with Ronova is about him harboring the souls of the dead inside him its likely he made this deal with Ronova to return to his full strength
5:56 - This puzzles me. We find out that Ororon was the one who made contact with the Fatui and wanted to work with Capitano. So why did Citlali find marks from Snezhnayan weapons in his house? Were they made at Ororon's request to throw off people who would investigate? Have the Fatui been there before Ororon decided to work with them? Idk hearing Citlali say this made sense at that point in the story but then it makes no sense when you find out that he was actually never coerced.

I REALLY LOVE How u communicate ur reaction trought this bcs ppl might think me overreacting over this but u feel the same way that i do. This quest made me sob and panicked so hard that I'm so tired of crying. Also got me shouting for those dead npcs and cheering for the heroes 😭
If the Pyro Archon dies, maybe Capitano can become the Archon (Maybe his deal with the Lord of the Night is a way for him to bear an ancient name as well) he can invoke the Ode of Resurrection to bring her back. Since she died, the debt is paid. As a bonus, he may use the power to regain his former strength/body and possession of the pyro Gnosis. Just like that event, we won't be the 'hero' even if it seems like it. It'll be him instead. Also, the god of death seems to have a soft spot for humans and Natlan. The mission they issued for The Captain may involve saving the Pyro Archon and Natlan at the same time.
The fact that Mallko's soul was destroyed by an abyss lector makes it even more heartbreaking since Vichama is all alone in the night kingdom finding Mallko and not even knowing that he's gone.
The lore is insane and makes my head spin... I want to read the whole book of Genshin Impact history, if will ever be one. So many references and the symbols from reality and myth. I kinda get confused cause I don't really play the other games from Mihoyo so... 😮... Your storytelling and voice was so great to use as background while working. I am a new subscriber for sure 😊
oh btw, about 59:40~ the only person we know of from Project ARK has returned back to earth, and from what other characters have said, it seems the initial idea for it was scrapped in the end. not discrediting all of it, and other things about the colonization of Teyvat are reflective of things in HI3, but I'm not sure if that connection is still relevant
Of the names mentioned from The Tears of Themis, there's another one we might recognize... [spoilers for information datamined from the genshin files, and not yet even dropped anywhere in story]... .. .. .. "Asmoday" is the Ars Goetic name of The Heavenly Principles! So... maybe she too will become an ally to us some day! Playable Heavenly Principles when??

As Ronova the goddess of death is one of the four shining shades of the Primordial one. Since she gave power to the first Pyro Arcon. It is no wonder how he was able to slay the Pyro Sovereign dragon.
I’d say the traveler might want to hold on to the pyro gnosis, assuming he or she gets their hands on it. It would be a guaranteed ticket to Snezhnaya and to see the Tsaritsa without issue. Hopefully.
24:36 LotN name interests me, cuz in IRL mythology, one of the Lords of the Night is Xiuhtecuhtli ("Turquoise Lord/Lord of Fire"). In Aztec religion, Xiuhcōātl was a mythological serpent, regarded as the spirit form of Xiuhtecuhtli AND Xiugcoatl is the Pyro Sovereign, so i wonder if this is just an inspiration overlap or if there's more hidden lore here 42:20 What even more crazy is that Varka said that he wants a duel with Capitano and thinks he can take him on. If he isn't exaggerating, Varka COULD be one of the most powerful humans in the game, as he also doesn't lose strength with time cuz no curse on him 50:00 I actually came to the same conclusion but with a different reason for a curse. During Sumeru, we learned that allowing Forbidden Knowledge into Irminsul CAN affect real word, creating things like Withering Zones and Elezar, as that was the result of Rukkha being corrupted to a part. Now, imagine a Nation-wide flood of the abyssal knowledge getting into Irminsul from Khaenri'ahns who died fighting the Abyss. The result of that COULD have potentially destroyed the whole of Teyvat. This actually makes logical sense and supports the fact that Celestia DOES love humans, it's just they had to make a hard choice between 1 nation or the whole continent of Teyvat 57:30 This quest also related to one of the readable books mentioned in the said quest: "The Tale of Qoyllor and Ukuku", which is, interestingly, a 1* books, with the only other one being Teyvat Travel Guide. Makes me wonder on how actually significant that books is 1:04:40 In KR and JP, it's straight up called "Azoth Substance", so i think it's intentional. I also think Azosite was Khaenri'ahs imitation of Phlogiston, as both have similar color, kinda both pure elemental and primordial energy AND both used to power different kind of Machines and Automatons (Ruin machines and Source Automatons) I also wanna gush about the Lovecraftian connection cuz it have been on my mind ever since i finished the AQ. First, according to Lovecraft wiki, one of Azathoth's names is "Primordial Demiurge", which is SIGNIFICANT for Genshin and relations to Gnosticism and such. Secondly, It's called the Ultimate Abyss itself and sometimes depicted as Sentient Black Hole, both of which also fit really well for Genshin's depiction of the Abyss. Thirdly, according to the same Lovecraft wiki, "In August Derleth's rendition, the Necronomicon portrays Azathoth as a leader in a cosmic upheaval, akin to Lucifer's rebellion in the Bible, and prophesies his return." And, as something that might be connected to Snezhnaya: "In the Unaussprechlichen Kulten of Friedrich von Junzt, it is claimed that Azathoth and its twin sibling Ubbo-Sathla were created by the Elder Gods to be their slaves, but rebelled against their masters and spawned a whole generation of Great Old Ones to fight against them. I now wonder if Enjou supposed to be inspired by Nyarlathothep, as both do kinda sound similar from the description: "Nyarlathotep seems to serve several cults and takes care of their affairs in the other Outer Gods' absence. Most Outer Gods use strange alien languages, while Nyarlathotep uses human languages and can easily pass for a human being if he chooses to do so. Finally, most of them are all-powerful yet evidently without clear purpose or agenda, yet Nyarlathotep seems to be deliberately deceptive and manipulative, and even uses propaganda to achieve his goals. In this regard, he is probably the most human-like among the Outer Gods." Getting to a hotspot, looking at the devastation and number of dead saurians around, thinking I was too late, just to hear a small one crying and hiding in the tower, actually broke me
I particularly liked the 5.1 AQ specifically due to the abyss invasion part. Firstly, because it's about time we up the stakes. Secondly, because it depicted what I ultimately hope will happen in the world of genshin: I always had this idea that, after our trip to sneznaya, it would be extremely cool if something major happened to Teyvat, wrecking the world map as we know. This would result in: 1) a deep nostalgia towards the scenery we are so accustomed to. 2) a big and exciting new challange for endgame players. Maybe introducing world level 10 and littering the wrecked map with creepy and beefed up lv 150 enemies. 3) unlock a monumental replayability potential, since parts of the maps could be drastically modified, new chests positioned, new trials and even new world quests. Something along the lines of the world of ruin in final fantasy 6. On top of that, the hope of restoring the world as it was would be a great incentive towards completing the journey in kaenriah at all costs. Ps. I think the "rainbow destined to burn" are the elements.

I find it really interesting how the genshin story has been slowly easing us into the concept of death. The first time we saw a death in-game was the no-name grand thief in the second Dain quest, then we worked our way up to NPCs, Signora, a literal Archon and now we had a full blown war with countless casualties. It was also startling to see that depending on your choices in-game during the battle, certain areas would have NPC's that just...disappeared. Poof. First time we see in-game consequences to our actions. The way they're ramping up the number of deaths in-game makes me think they're preparing us for higher stakes in future quests and stories
so let’s just make clear the fact capitano stated on multiple occasions he was utterly defeated by mavuika. He also said she was holding back to not hurt anyone in the stadium. That was her fighting a weakened Capitano. He in his prime and mavuika at full strength are evenly matched.

Every archon quest, I end up repeating "is this the best Genshin's story has ever ever been?" That revelation the end literally made me gasp for air. They've done a good job keeping everyone enticed all these years.

Ahnd every story has a very different tone and philosophy that makes me so damn satisfied every time l:,) Mondstadt had a more straightforward fairy tail vibe with a Dragon attacking a town, and a hero coming in and saving it. Liyue was centered around humanity taking independence for themselves from those they deem god's who had governed them previously, and proving that they can do so. Inazuma showed how inflexibility in society for humanity is impossible and creates war and division, and that a society must be allowed to adapt and change with time. Sumeru showed the dangers of over-reliance on technology and intellect pursuance, and how the idolization of those things can lead to corrupt systems...and corruption in general. Fontaine delved into perceptions of justice, and how while anytime we may think we see the whole picture to judge it fairly, there is always more information and a new angle to see every situation from that can change our perception of what justice could be. Now here we are in a far more straightforward conflict, all out war against an overwhelming and unreasonable enemy, in which sacrifices and resolve are necessary in the conflict, as you can't save everyone and their is no perfect answer in war. However, the solutions we choose must always be looked at via their cost, as their are only trade-offs, no solutions.... I don't know why I felt compelled to detail my summary of the general theme of each archon quest here, buht that's what happened l,xD Aniwho, I particularly duhg Act 1-4 of this archon quest and am excited to see what's to come in it's conclusion l:) Thaynks for your video's on this game's ridonk lore Minsleif🤟🤟

Here's my prediction about a few things.
1) Capitano dies. I think the "final foe" he had to face was death - considering how hard it is for him to die it makes sense he'd consider his own death to be an opponent of sorts. I think his goal is to take Mauvika's place as the cost of using Ronova's power.
2) The Traveller will die and be resurrected. Of all predictions I have, I am most confident in this. The whole purpose of crafting an ancient name for the traveller was to secure his (assuming Aether here) safety in the event of his death - a LOT of screen time was dedicated to the creation of this ancient name. The principle of Chekhov's gun applies here: It would be very strange to not see the ancient name utilized in this way after spending so much time on it; likely this is when the Traveller will gain Pyro abilities in the story.
3) Speaking of which; I do believe the Traveller will become the Pyro Archon. For one, the fact that the Pyro Archon throne can be inherited seems, to me, to be extremely noteworthy. Mavuika resurrected herself and became the Pyro Archon a second time 500 years afterwards, but in terms of the story, she may as well have just been an immortal god like the other Archons and it would have changed nothing. Even if it's not the Traveller, I suspect someone new will take the Pyro Archon throne, even if temporarily. The Traveller becoming the Pyro Archon is both not that extreme considering what happened in Fontaine, and also solves a couple of narrative issues: If Capitano takes the Gnosis back to Shneznaya, there are no cards for the Traveller to play - the Fatui will already have every Gnosis and will be proceeding with their plan. Giving the Traveller the Gnosis gives him a reason to go the Shneznaya. Also...Aether couldn't even 4v1 Arlecchino. The idea that he's going to waltz into the Fatui's home-turf and accomplish anything other than getting extremely spanked is just ludicrous. If he inherits the power of an Archon though? That combined with his current strength suddenly makes the idea that he can be a threat to the Fatui in Shneznaya MUCH more believable.
Let's see if I'm right!

Besides of the many references to the other-worldly Lovecraftian myths already being in the game. The new abyss enemy the Tenebrous Mimiflora is described as "Abyssal monsters that have descended to this world from the deep, dark depths of a twisted and alien world"
When "pale princess and the six pygmies " book was mentioned i remember the night mother's prophecy that she told to the pygmie "In thousands of years time, my greatest foe will descend. He wields a sword that heralds the dawn and wears armor that can reflect the shining sunlight. He shall destroy my kingdom and bring the Prince back to life. The Princess will then be free from her eternal torment. Until then, I fear not a single soul in the Land of Night, for nothing will bring an end to my kingdom except for the catastrophe foretold by the prophecy." This story was really interesting.

This was actually one of the archon quests that made me think "Oh sht, it's for real this time." because of the sacrifices during the war thing. Like you, I felt so fking powerless just watching civilian and saurian corpses on the ground. I was legit close to hyperventilating because you can't save everyone, but oh lord there were a LOT of confirmations and big lore bombs that were suddenly dropped.
One running theory I had that kind of coincides with one of yours is that Capitano might be the one to sacrifice instead of Mavuika. The thing that you said about him like not having much time left and the really suspicious moment of him asking for help from the lord of the night because he also has a foe to face made me rethink about this theory. Also, he's said that his main goal to get the Gnosis was to save Natlan originally (y'know like the plan of the gnosis essentially making the giant net thing that would erase all memories but would save Natlan) and that returning it to the Tsaritsa was just a bonus.
Just for this, I feel like Capitano would be the sacrifice to end the abyss- since he's very much dying anyway because of the rotting body thing. Mavuika of course would still die because it's a part of the deal she made with Ronova but at that moment, the traveler will come into possession with the pyro gnosis and since he's not from this world (therefore not really in the scope of the rules) he would be able to resurrect Mavuika.
A possible hole in this is that Capitano asked for the help of the lord of the night and on top of that, he somehow has knowledge of the magic or the tricks from the masters of the night-wind AND he has the nightsoul blessing thing. This means that the ode of resurrection could work on him because he doesn't need the acknowledgement of the Wayob since y'know, the lord of the night is basically the main Wayob (and cause I really want him to be playable so badly T-T). However, Capitano is one to honor the rules and he did say he lost to Mavuika so he stopped seizing the gnosis (I think this was mentioned in the quest hence why he looked for the dragon relics to start the plan but I could be delulu here) so Traveler might be the one to negotiate/bring the gnosis to the Tsaritsa.
You might ask why Mavuika would just give the gnosis willy-nilly to the Traveler well, I remember at the end of the Sumeru archon quest when Nahida mentioned giving both the dendro and the electro gnoses to the Dottore that having both of it in her possession would just cause far more trouble than its worth especially since it could be a potential cause of conflict and she has no need for it anymore (Ei severed ties with Celestia and Scara doesn't need it anymore since he no longer has full divinity, and Nahida shut down the Akasha- which was ultimately powered by the dendro gnosis). So since Mavuika doesn't need the pyro gnosis anymore because the abyss is gone, then she would just let the traveler have it.
IDK I'm not really much of a big theorist person, I really like listening to loretubers and people more knowledgeable about the lore than me but this whole quest had me turning my brain gears LOL anyway, good video as always Miss Minslief!
Archons dying is a running theme, and it's kinda sus.
Venti - a dead ringer for a bard that rebelled against Decarabian (former Anemo archon(?)).
Zhongli - faked his death with the Exuvia, and won't talk about Khaenri'ah because of contract.
Raiden - has a dead twin, and 2 puppet bodies (1unused being Scaramouche).
Nahida - Ruukhadevata's reincarnation(?).
Furina - Folcalors executed herself, but then who is Furina? An alter ego? Said it was to deceive the Heavenly Principles, but what if it's the traveler being deceived?
Mavuika - predicted to die, but the outcome may turn out to be something similar to the other archons (where she's not actually dead).
Also have a theory that Tsaritsa is collecting gnoses to revive a dead descender. But it's to fight the Heavenly Principles instead of the Abyss?
I really have to wonder how Khaenri'ah took the blame for the Abyss disaster and formed the Abyss Order, when they also fought against the Abyss 500 years ago.
I also thought that the hilichurl curse was due to actual archon/god death, much like how the salt god's death caused people nearby to turn into salt statues, so if an archon actually dies, a supernatural disaster should follow.

An interesting thing about Yohualtecuhtin's answers is that when she talks about who would be displeased by Ronova's actions, she accidently said almighty and quickly changes to Heavenly Principles. Yet when she talks about the elements, she properly says Heavenly Principles. It makes me think that she was about to said the true name of Heavenly Principles or name someone else and quickly change what she was saying to not get in trouble with whoever it is. Perhaps this almighty person is the second descender pretending to be Heavenly Principles.
Yes, that was sus. And we also need to account for the battle pass story of the princess who forgot who she was and was tricked by the serpent. I think it is more likely that the HP is that princess and was tricked by phanes to keep the great ark project going

You're not alone. The whole war portion had me upset and distressed, and Paimon's phenomenal acting made things stronger. Then Chuychu... I cried. I was thinking, "we know so many powerful people and factions, can't we get any help at all?!", and then anger for wondering how the sibling could possibly condone and justify this death and destruction.

heres my own theory about capitano
so as we know he and ronova struck a deal with eachother and capitano has a final foe to face, its entirely possible that ronova is the one that cursed the khaenriahns and therefore can remove it, we also know she helped establish the rule in natlan maybe thats her own way of feeling guilty and redeeming herself for the devastation of khaenriah, and i do believe in a way that Capitano will "die", his symbol or sigil in the fatui is a 3 nail that is crossed together which represents for death and resurrection. and remember the 3 mages he mentioned (cuxtal, aberewaa, bosomtwe) apparently in some cultures
aberewaa is the goddess of life, bosomtwe is connected to the dead and cuxtal is the god of birth which once again points to resurrection. of course we cant be sure of how he will die or what his and ronovas deal is although i made a few speculations
1: if he manages to save natlan his curse will be removed he will "die" and get resurrected by her with no curse or abyssal rot
2: a fight between capitano and ronova
3: capitano takes mauvikas role for sacrifice and sacrifices himself instead, but since he is "immortal" he bypasses the death given and the curse gets uplifted alongside the abyssal rot

Additional info: Yog Sothoth is also a character in Honkai Gakuen (Guns Girls Z) where she is basically a goddess that live outside time and space and rules the White Abyss in that game. her feats is also insane

What broke me most during the abyssal invasion was hearing Paimon crying and becoming traumatised upon arriving at hotspots only to see all humans/saurians already be dead.
At one point, while flying with the hot baloon and witnessing all the death and destruction below, she said she can't take this anymore, and my heart just... 😢

55:40 "Archon Quest, Chapter I, Act III - A New Star Approaches, Part 6: The Fond Farewell" is when we learned that Zhongli descended to teyavat 6000+ years ago, so the seelie and moon calamity should've happened around that time.
While I was doing my playthrough of the AQ, especially the War Segment, I was thinking there was something similar to the atmosphere then it clicked, Naruto's 4th Great Shinobi War. The enemies who were defeated or killed were just spores or just reincarnated while the shinobis are losing real lives and it is somewhat similar here. yknow, a lot of people say that paimon maybe a fragment of the unknown god, but i went back and read the story of houkai impact 2/gun girlz. in ggz, there are 2 different characters representing paimon and the unknown god. theresa's design is nearly identical to paimon in the old story, and the first herrscher variant of kiana kaslana is pretty much identical in the old story as well. they are 2 very different characters, and theresa starts off as a gray area character, but she was never really a steady villain or anything, and is coerced pretty easily over to kiana and mei's side. kiana's herrscher form though... is a completely change of her character, as she destroys everything near and dear to her.

I do believe she will die, BUT as another Ancient Name Bearer made it out alive AND the battle was won... the Ode of Resurrection will bring her back as per the ancient contract. Capitano, I'm 50/50 on him, but I wholly expect Traveller to hold on to the Pyro Gnosis and deciding to be the one to bring it to the Tsaritsa themself, being well received there due to being under the Umbrella of our Fatui friends (Childe, Arleccino and Capitano if still living/undead)

The part where Paimon breaks was one of the hardest things i've seen in this game. There is no gore in Genshin, but they still manage to shows us the horrors of war.
I have been listening to the Natlan orchestra song on repeat at the gym, the lyrics are just so inspiring. The Captain dialogue was indeed a massive lore bomb, but i have a feeling they are trickling the lore to us. This patch will be lore bomb after lore bomb and if the Harbinger wheel is right, the next Fatui Harbinger we are supposed to fight is Columbina... and after that its Capitano. I can hardly wait.
1:03:13 now then I want to add something to this. Both Yog-Sothoth and Azathoth actually exist in the Hoyoverse. They are Ultra powerful Outer-gods that have been shown in GGZ(the original Honkai impact 3rd).
Yog-Sothoth is so far the most greatest and strongest being in the Imaginary-Tree(Hoyoverse). She's easily Tier 1-A outerversal to possibly boundless. She is known to be a mysterious Eldritch goddess who likes playing pranks on humans and other species, like the time she enlightened the Buddha (yeah she actually did this in the lore😅) or maybe something like granting a normal mortal great power. She is a being that has existed before the imaginary-Tree(Hoyoverse) itself. Now the abyss Tumour itself is called The "Mark of Yog-Sothoth" so It could very possibly have something to do with her though Mihoyo will never actually admit it
Azathoth was story was her being the most powerful being in ancient Babylonia that was feared by every god, she always keeps her eyes close because they contain so much knowledge that seeing them can cause even the gods of babylonia to fall into deep depression for eons(no joke this actually happened to one of the gods). Even in the Hoyoverse character ranking scale Azathoth easily ranks 2nd only to Yog-Sothoth.
Now there are still beings like "The Lord of The Myriad Realms", The being that created the very concept of "death" aka "Thanatos" the god that killed all the gods of her era and the death of the final god(Zeus) was what started the big bang which created the Mihoyo Multiverse, who we still have no idea who he/she actually is but most people seem to think that it's actually Yog-Sothoth herself.
I'm pretty positive the "death" Citlali sees in the Pyro Archon fate doesn't come from Mavuika, but the Archon title itself. Or it just refers to a non permanent death, knowing that dead characters aren't playable and Mavuika will for sure come in 5.3-4 (For the other hand, im not so sure about Capitano's survival). It might happen either by Mavuika dying and getting resurrected after, loosing her Archon tittle and it automatically passing to the next person (hopefully the traveler), or just sacrificing her tittle and just surviving by that means.
And about the gnosis, knowing there haven't been any confirmation about Columbina and with Capitano's (hinted) imminent death, I kinda hope the traveler is the one who gives the gnosis to the Fatui.. it could be a pretty solid introduction to Snezhnaya making us give the gnosis to the Tsaritsa herself.. yk as our chance to know her. But Columbina would also be a pretty solid revelation if she appears in Natlan, knowing her angelic looks and her relation with death and the Wayobs.

The parallels to the story of Teyvat are not lost on me, though. Teyvat could be either a product of an analogous sequence of events (just with someone else at the helm of the Arl, etc.), or my current theory, it could be a massive Bubble World/Bubble Universe in the Sea of Quanta.
To give further credence to my claims, the Sea of Quanta is the only place in the Honkai universe where “wishes” are a legitimate power source. The aforementioned “god” Sa used this by creating “rules” that allowed people to convert “wishes” into material gains. It then siphoned off the energy produced when the Bubble Worlds were destroyed by the power imbalance.
Hereby, I propose that Teyvat is an artificial recreation of the “surface” world, with it’s own Imaginary and Quantum (Light and Dark) realms, created by a stranded Project Ark equivalent. Teyvat would become the Ark that humanity would live on.
Yeah I'm still bummed about what they did with project ark in hl3 its a little underwhelming. I still like the theory of genshin impact being a product of Project Ark it's cope but better than what we got.
I know it's wishful thinking but considering that Enjou has appeared in 5.0 Kinich SQ and soon in 5.2 I hope Enjou also appears in the 5.3 AQ especially when The Traveler and Mavuika are arriving to the Night Kingdom and Enjou is just waiting for them to drop more Lorebombs regarding the Abyss, Gosoythoth, and the Abyss Order.
i'd like to add - if you zoom out the map of Natlan, and look carefully, there's a gigantic 3-finger claw mark shaped impression across it, which I don't see a lot of people talking about. just gonna leave it at that considering what happened in the limited time event with a giant dragon.

What if Nibelung is the one that destroyed travelers home planet being he stole forbidden knowledge from out this world and in one quest when looking at a picture of Nibelung in natlan u could see the traveler stunned or shocked and just paused and when paimon asks traveler says “it’s nothing” hinting at something.
related to the 4.8 summer event... if summer event really was some kind of foreshadows for the next region's archon quest, does that mean natlan will let go of the lord of the night and wayobs' protection anyway, in one way or another? just like people of constellation metropole letting go of their goddess' protection that made a lot of them stuck in place when smth bad gonna happen to them. the conservative person in metropole said that if they turn the gear, the 'tracks' in the city will disappear. it reminds me that the whole night kingdom and wayobs' protection will be no more if they decided to use the gnosis power to reconstruct the leyline. in the event we also have to 'reconstruct' the stars/constellation in the sky using the astral expre---i mean aerial express. 😅 does that mean that we bound to reconstruct natlan's leyline anyway...? and maybe after that natlanese can go out of their region and visit other nations without worrying about their physical and mental safety since they now have more stable leyline and don't need to rely on their wayob's protection anymore, just like simulanka people being able to visit teyvat after being free from the 'protection (a.k.a restriction)' made by their goddess.

Phanes was the first of the Greek deity's, whose existence pre existed that of ouranous, gaia and tartarus ( the dragon sovereigns ) The titans ( the shining shades ) and the gods ( the archons, traveller etc.). Phanes was a deity of light and goodness, whose name meant "to bring light" or "to shine"; a first-born deity, he emerged from the abyss and gave birth to the universe. Nyx (Night) is variously said to be Phanes' daughter or older wife. Phanes seems to be a creature of the abyss who gained consciousness and created teyvat. It also says that Nyx, also known as night is their daughter or wife. Perhaps the Lord of the night is a creature of the abyss who long existed. That would explain her vast knowledge and power. However if Phanes is the primordial one then that means you do NOT have to be from outside teyvat to be a descender. This theory makes a ton of sense if you take into account one of Venti's voicelines. "Ah traveller we meet again, what? You don't remember me. My theory is that Aether and Lumine tried to leave teyvat but were stopped and had most of their memories erased. This means that whatever is out their beyond the firmanent of teyvat is either so dangerous to Phanes or teyvat as a whole that they are keeping people inside teyvat. If anyone has anything to add please share. ( Min please notice this I'm really proud of this one )

I think Traveler's name could be shujaa which translates to 'Hero'
Also i think the deal capitano has made with Ronova is about him harboring the souls of the dead inside him its likely he made this deal with Ronova to return to his full strength
Shujaa is also mentioned in the Natlan Battle theme so I think this fits well

5:56 - This puzzles me. We find out that Ororon was the one who made contact with the Fatui and wanted to work with Capitano. So why did Citlali find marks from Snezhnayan weapons in his house? Were they made at Ororon's request to throw off people who would investigate? Have the Fatui been there before Ororon decided to work with them? Idk hearing Citlali say this made sense at that point in the story but then it makes no sense when you find out that he was actually never coerced.
Honestly idk how the Traveler can forgive his twin after what the Abyss did in Natlan.

If the Pyro Archon dies, maybe Capitano can become the Archon (Maybe his deal with the Lord of the Night is a way for him to bear an ancient name as well) he can invoke the Ode of Resurrection to bring her back. Since she died, the debt is paid. As a bonus, he may use the power to regain his former strength/body and possession of the pyro Gnosis. Just like that event, we won't be the 'hero' even if it seems like it. It'll be him instead. Also, the god of death seems to have a soft spot for humans and Natlan. The mission they issued for The Captain may involve saving the Pyro Archon and Natlan at the same time.

The fact that Mallko's soul was destroyed by an abyss lector makes it even more heartbreaking since Vichama is all alone in the night kingdom finding Mallko and not even knowing that he's gone.
The lore is insane and makes my head spin... I want to read the whole book of Genshin Impact history, if will ever be one. So many references and the symbols from reality and myth. As Ronova the goddess of death is one of the four shining shades of the Primordial one. Since she gave power to the first Pyro Arcon. It is no wonder how he was able to slay the Pyro Sovereign dragon.

In Aztec religion, Xiuhcōātl was a mythological serpent, regarded as the spirit form of Xiuhtecuhtli AND Xiugcoatl is the Pyro Sovereign, so i wonder if this is just an inspiration overlap or if there's more hidden lore here

During Sumeru, we learned that allowing Forbidden Knowledge into Irminsul CAN affect real word, creating things like Withering Zones and Elezar, as that was the result of Rukkha being corrupted to a part. Now, imagine a Nation-wide flood of the abyssal knowledge getting into Irminsul from Khaenri'ahns who died fighting the Abyss. The result of that COULD have potentially destroyed the whole of Teyvat. This actually makes logical sense and supports the fact that Celestia DOES love humans, it's just they had to make a hard choice between 1 nation or the whole continent of Teyvat

I also wanna gush about the Lovecraftian connection cuz it have been on my mind ever since i finished the AQ.
First, according to Lovecraft wiki, one of Azathoth's names is "Primordial Demiurge", which is SIGNIFICANT for Genshin and relations to Gnosticism and such.
Secondly, It's called the Ultimate Abyss itself and sometimes depicted as Sentient Black Hole, both of which also fit really well for Genshin's depiction of the Abyss.
Thirdly, according to the same Lovecraft wiki, "In August Derleth's rendition, the Necronomicon portrays Azathoth as a leader in a cosmic upheaval, akin to Lucifer's rebellion in the Bible, and prophesies his return."
And, as something that might be connected to Snezhnaya:
"In the Unaussprechlichen Kulten of Friedrich von Junzt, it is claimed that Azathoth and its twin sibling Ubbo-Sathla were created by the Elder Gods to be their slaves, but rebelled against their masters and spawned a whole generation of Great Old Ones to fight against them. As a punishment, the Elder Gods reduced the twins to mindless beings and banished them. Azathoth was exiled to the primal chaos "beyond the physical universe", while Ubbo-Sathla was confined to the deep underground realm of grey-litten *Y'qaa* ."
"In Carter's "The Descent into the Abyss", the realm of Y'qaa can be reached by the tunnels deep inside Mount Voormithadreth in *Hyperborea*, which suggests that it might be intended to be the abode of Abhoth, the "Source of Uncleanliness", as featured in Smith's "The Seven Geases"."
All of these connections also made me look more into the mythos and i started to see more connections:
1. I'm 99% sure now that Riftwolfs are based on Hounds of Tindalos. Not only are they really close in abilities, there's even an achievement for clearing all of beastly rifts (which spawn riftwolfs) that is referencing Hounds of Tindalos in it's name ("Angle Eraser").
2. I now wonder if Enjou supposed to be inspired by Nyarlathothep, as both do kinda sound similar from the description:
"Nyarlathotep seems to serve several cults and takes care of their affairs in the other Outer Gods' absence. Most Outer Gods use strange alien languages, while Nyarlathotep uses human languages and can easily pass for a human being if he chooses to do so. Finally, most of them are all-powerful yet evidently without clear purpose or agenda, yet Nyarlathotep seems to be deliberately deceptive and manipulative, and even uses propaganda to achieve his goals. In this regard, he is probably the most human-like among the Outer Gods."

I particularly liked the 5.1 AQ specifically due to the abyss invasion part. Firstly, because it's about time we up the stakes. Secondly, because it depicted what I ultimately hope will happen in the world of genshin: I always had this idea that, after our trip to sneznaya, it would be extremely cool if something major happened to Teyvat, wrecking the world map as we know.
This would result in:
1) a deep nostalgia towards the scenery we are so accustomed to.
2) a big and exciting new challange for endgame players. Maybe introducing world level 10 and littering the wrecked map with creepy and beefed up lv 150 enemies.
3) unlock a monumental replayability potential, since parts of the maps could be drastically modified, new chests positioned, new trials and even new world quests.
Something along the lines of the world of ruin in final fantasy 6.
On top of that, the hope of restoring the world as it was would be a great incentive towards completing the journey in kaenriah at all costs.
Ps. I think the "rainbow destined to burn" are the elements.

I find it really interesting how the genshin story has been slowly easing us into the concept of death. The first time we saw a death in-game was the no-name grand thief in the second Dain quest, then we worked our way up to NPCs, Signora, a literal Archon and now we had a full blown war with countless casualties.
It was also startling to see that depending on your choices in-game during the battle, certain areas would have NPC's that just...disappeared. Poof. First time we see in-game consequences to our actions.
The way they're ramping up the number of deaths in-game makes me think they're preparing us for higher stakes in future quests and stories

so let’s just make clear the fact capitano stated on multiple occasions he was utterly defeated by mavuika. He also said she was holding back to not hurt anyone in the stadium. That was her fighting a weakened Capitano. He in his prime and mavuika at full strength are evenly matched.
