- the first book of my pile of 6 i've chosen for my summer book lcub is 'love of seven dolls' by paul gallico. I've reread this after thirty years -and the darkness of this fable surprised me a lot. Some dodgy sexual politics to watch out for! But it's still worth digging out of the past
I’ll be on a treasure hunt to find this book. I already am intrigued by Moosh (spelling ?), the female protagonist . I feel as though I know her. Your mind is incredible remembering all the details of your novels! Another A+ video, as usual❤❤❤
A well timed video, I finished reading it about 20 minutes ago! Enjoyed it.
one of my favorite cat books is 'the silent miaow' by gallico.
I have a copy of this book heading my way from an eBay seller. From your descriptions, I picked this one as something in the vein of the Circus of Dr Lai, but less of a simplistic morality play. Lao would have problematic language these days, too. BTW, that edition can go for a large sum (I saw one for over $700! But my $20 one is the same edition.) I'm having a week away not next week but the week after, so should read it (and finish Strange Boy, too) away from home
It is a wonderful book by a great writer . On the subject of cats ; your reference to the arthritic man with the cat on his back is going to stick in my head . Who did you give the yellow roses to . My adventure to the library in another town yesterday shockingly revealed that they dont have any Jonathan Carroll and they dont have any you . I plan to change that. On the booksale shelf ; I found a hardback ( I love them) by Christopher Rush ; the only writer born in my little village . He got a hard time with his semi autobiographical book ; in which he had painted the residents as they really were. (hellfire and herrin) . The book I got for 80p is called To Travel Hopefully . I cannot wait to start it but I am making my way through your coursebook first. Today was a good day ; a friend gave me a bronze sculpture of a Selkie on a piece of local rock . Half woman half seal ; its beautiful ; she cast it from an assemblage of perfect things from the beach . It is one of those dream gifts . She is in her late 70's and her clutter is like mine ; it felt like she could see my soul . Priceless and shared also with a flatulent dog .
You sound like a very interesting person. The gift of art you received from your artist friend sounds fabulous! As an assemblage artist myself, I am trying to imagine what it looks like. Love the Selkie and Mermaid folklore. I’m thinking of painting a Mermaid holding her beloved cat. Your posts are always delightful❤
@@cherirose6660 Thankyou and do the painting . Cat of Nine Tales (tails) is a seaweed . I also notice the 666 in your name is that a Crowley reference. I have a long short story to write on the Selkie .
@mudlarkingmarionette sorry it took so long to reply! For sure I'm going do do the watercolor of the Mermaid holding her
cat asap. Having a massive garage sale 3 days this week. About the 666 in my UTube address, I'm in the dark how it got there! As an artist and fledgling writer I know very little about navigating on social media. I'm not sure what Crowley meant in your comment,.
but I definitely would not have chosen the 666! I'm a bit superstitious. Hope you're enjoying your day!🩵
@@cherirose6660 Thankyou for replying , superstition has always fascinated me . Glad your doing the painting .
Thank you for the great review. Would you recommend a happy one without the horror 🤔 😂😂😂😊❤... glitz without the grime 😊
a Gallico novel without the horror oe grime? Definitely 'Flowers for Mrs Harris'
Thank you. I found the audio of Mrs. Harris Goes to Moscow and downloaded it. Hope Putin is not going to intervene 🤣🤣. Have you read it?
@@DefaultName-nt7tk I’ve read the whole series!
