That will never happen, it's anathema to everyone at the club and every single match going supporter who stands on it.. Trust me It will always be a single tier stand
@@Steve-io5oh They could make it steeper like the Yellow wall at Dortmund (safe standing?) which holds roughly twice as many spectators, or even the South Stand at Spurs which I think holds 17,000. There's not much scope for building out so I guess it can only go up.
Hey Mr D thanks so much for all your perseverance in trying to get the best footage you can. I have a bit of a random question, that’s indirectly about the stand. Back in the day the blocks of seats were different colours (going back to the 80’s) I’ve heard two reasons, not sure iwhats true. does anyone know? One reason is that it was to do with the sponsorship from Crown Paints, the other was that Bob Paisley said he didn’t want a red wall of seats behind the goal for reserve games as this was not good for the players.
Great vids as always Mr D. I dont know wat the've done with thee old crest but i reckon there gonna put it on the new roof once the've cladded the edges. Sounds like the most logical place to put it. Its lookin good now mate. I was surprised how quick thee got rid of the teir. I want to see wat the pitch looks like once all the machinery and flooring have gone. Great work as always Mister D.
The concrete pieces they are lifting in the video will form the wall at the bottom of the tier, to stop people falling off. I think between the lower tier and upper tier there will be new executive boxes.
There is some concrete to join the two stands but the majority is for the top tier. Its to extend it over the the bottom tier a little. The gap between then is smaller and will hold the corps.
Great video nick the crest looks fantastic ,why do they not finish off parts of the cladding off around the hedges of the roof, and the front of the stand and the back of the stand.
All the missing pieces round the edges will either need cutting, be marrying up with sections that aren’t yet complete or the gap is being used for access of workers or materials.
Re the crest, when they did the Main Stand they had a big auction of all the items stripped from it, everything from LFC crests, to the seats from the dugouts even to all the toilet signs. Couple of hundred items. Was a proper auction, I had to pay £10 just to attend. Held in the new lounges in the main stand where u could view everything.
Nick I'm sure i heard somewhere the stand crest from the old roof has been put into storage and is to be auctioned off at a later date with proceeds going to local charities
I emailed LFC about the crest when it was removed, I was told it will be reused somewhere with in the new stand, that's all I was told, they couldn't give it away as to many people had asked for it,that's all I was told.
They're not joining sections. They are the front wall for the upper tier then the terracing is built back to that already built. Not much they could do with the Kop imho that wouldnt cost tens of millions of pounds. They could take the back wing on the Albert side of the stand so it matches the furthest upper existing terracing in the middle. The other side would be well over the road and curtilage so not certain they could do that side. The club has actually mentioned reprofiling the SKD Lower to get rid of the Kemlyn Knee but this would actually reduce capacity as they'd have to take 3 or 4 rows out to give better leg room.
Thanks for putting my question out there nick regarding the Anfield Road old crest. Appreciate that. I've subbed to Craig also mate. In respect of the concrete going in. That's the footing of the upper tier. Where the sponsorship/advert boarding mounts if you look at all other stands. Technically yes it will bring the two tiers together aesthetically and hide that gap ready for what looks to be a new row of seats going in
i believe the crest is going in the middle of the top of the roof at the front when its finished, cant find the image that shows it but im certain thats what they showed
I can't speak for that crest but the one on the old main stand got lashed in the skip. They had a private auction for a lot of what was valuable/ sentimental in the Main stand but unless you could get it off site without being seen, it got lashed.

Concrete being installed will form the front end of the upper tier with another row of terracing to be fitted just above. Hospitality will be just below the concrete pieces being fitted
There will be a wheelchair viewing platform at the back of the bottom tier with a single seat for the wheelchair fan's carer as there is belew me in the SKD Upper. I thought the old crest was being put on the front of the new roof - but as they haven't yet started finishing the front edge, the crest can't yet be installed so its waiting for the new roof to be ready for it - at least that's what I understand is happening.
Enjoying all your videos, thanks so much! Question about the pitch; will they have enough time to lay the new turf, given it’s likely to be covered for another few weeks?
The crest might have been sent for refurbishing and will go back up on the new roof. Those concrete parts look like the wall that holds the sponsors on/safety walls to stop people falling over
The Liverpool Crest that goes on the roof will have more than likely put into storage whilst the stand is finished then, if it’s anything like the Main Stand, either the same one will be put back onto the backing, or a new bigger one will be put up. If a new one is commissioned more than likely they’ll be an auction like there was for the Main Stand to sell off some seats and general things from the stand. That’s what I think would happen
Great work again Mr Drone, thanks for all your effort. Question: In the corner of the Anfield Road Stand, joining the SKD Stand, I believe that corner is where the TV studio is I’m sure…do you think or do you know if maybe not this summer, but maybe next summer/in future they’ll renovate it, looks a bit out of place atm? Thanks again.
Looks like they have already got half of those steels in on the bottom of the top tier and now putting those concrete parts onto the steels. Moving very quickly to be fair to them
Presumably, there is still the outer wall of the original anfield road stand (turnstiles n all) holding up the lower tier which has now gone from an external wall to an internal wall. Any ideas if this will be knocked down, and if so how is the lower tier being held up
Yeah I was thinking this also. As it was mega tight down there and it would make sense to knock it all down and make one large open space... For the atmosphere in the new fanzone but also for access to toilets and amenities etc
Looks like the front end of the upper tier with another row of terracing to go just above it. The hospitality section will be just below where the concrete is being installed
Is it just me, or are some the seats on the main stand getting faded by the strength of the sun? If you think of how some red cars fade in the intense sunlight, it looks like that's what has happened to some seats in the Main stand.
