Hi Nick. Bluemooner here. Excellent video as always. The stadium looks fantastic which by its design will I’m sure create a great atmosphere and experience for both home and away fans. Hey, first of all, I want to say I'm really sorry to Pamela her family and friends for their loss. This must be a tough time for them? Nick, your footage of the new stadium is amazing, as always! But there are still some people who are complaining about the construction. They need to chill out! The stadium isn't even finished yet. People are moaning about stupid stuff like the old dock wall, the lights not working, and the blue bench in front of the new Everton shop. Come on, it's not finished yet! When it is, it'll be perfect. Thanks for keeping us updated with your vlogs, Nick. They've been really informative and educational. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your great work. Hi Nick, greetings from Dublin. I love your videos. I was just wondering if the famous Mersey ferries will be used to bring supporters from the Other side of the Mersey. An ideal way to cut down on motor traffic. Regards Gerry
Yes Gerrard, the ferry terminal at the Pier Head will be used by match goers from the Wirral. For now there will be no new terminal to serve the stadium directly, but Pier Head terminal is only a short walk away
10:08 when you come over the east stand there is a black pipe running from the south stand. Is that for the power units from the solar or the water system to bring rain water into the stadium?
Hi Nick if anyone deserves a seasonal ticket it's you and a complementary one at that because you have done EFC a great service showing the progress of the construction on the stadium and I'm sure they will include your videos in the clubs historical records for future generations to study..Anyway 'Seagulls' your nemesis and as you well know are a nuisance. So I wander what Everton going to do about them nesting on the roof ,particularly under the solar panels and as there will be a lot of fast food being consumed on match days how do you think they will stop the blighters dive bombing fans and players alike ,crowed don't seem to bother them these days.
Hi Nick loving your videos wonder if you could focus on the small compound against the wall on the East Plaza up near the main vehicle entrance it has a small strip of astro turf in it do you or anyone else know why it's there?
Hi, We r still waiting 4 our tour after constant reminders. I can't see it happening now, though. On another note where and when are the bricks some of us personalised going in, or are they already there. Thinking of upgrading to Mini Pro 4 from Mini 2.....your thoughts....
Obviously the big screens will show advertising etc but are there any plans for digital advertising screens running all the way around the stands like the Spurs stadium? Perhaps just at pitch level?
It'll be returned to Peel Waters. It's been rented space all this while. Peel Waters and Planit have their new updated broad plans for Liverpool Waters, which include the Central Docks (mentioned in yesterday's Budget for a grant with Homes England), Clarence Docks, Northern Docks (which includes BMD) and King Edwards' Triangle submitted to LCC, with third parties getting involved in the detail from thereon in.
Hi Nick, thanks again for keeping these videos coming,, do know if it’s been asked before and I’ve missed it. Why is there only solar panels on why side of the roof ?
Kevin, it has been asked a lot. The south roof has the best, most efficient potential for efficiency and, therefore, the best cost payback and energy production.
I take what you say about the lights BUT in this Technological Age surely they do better than a row of blue spot-lights on the exterior? Another thing is the blue brick structures seem to have some greenish ones amongst them (this could be a trick of the light) but why have green bricks in there? One final point (tho' it's too late to change now) is why didn't they put some blue-brick glazed panels on the front of the East Stand instead of the traditional reddish-brown bricks? Another great Fly-around, Mr D!
Reddish brown bricks are to mimic the tobacco warehouse, is due to heritage rules. The spot lights can do more than blue, they can change colour. There is also more mood lighting, a purple tinge under the south stand.
We need to remember that Uefa are using the stadium for Euros 28 and they are looking to use it for one of their finals. They will want their own colours and logos
Mike: There are no green bricks; it is a trick of the light on your screen. There are 4 variations of blue and one of them, a light sea-blue is probably the one prompting your comment. The red bricks are used to reflect all the other traditional dock warehouse buildings in the area.
@@davidbadcock2225 Thank you for this reply, david. I take your point. But I would ask you one question: Do Everton play in "light sea-blue"? I do like light sea-blue, btw, as a colour...
Nick, thank you for the close up of the yellow roads going towards the media building and also for not going into detail about the claim by David that they are in fact tan coloured. 💩🌀👨🍳
It seems my reply won't show up, so just for the record it comprised "🌪🥣". Separately, if you want to trace the person mentioned before that has serious issues take a look at the comment listed below and then for a further offering from that individual with a particularly pointed disparaging remark. I asked Dunc to reply to him.
Does anyone know if they will paint the grey concrete walls in the interior bowl blue like in some of the visualisations? IMHO would help with the idea of the blue wall and making it more "Everton". Maybe even some images on the larger walls between the South Stand and East/West on the interior
Yes, EFC are in charge of that, not LoR. I think the wall separating the upper and lower tiers of the south stand will also have the 1878s magnificent flags covering it
I've been wondering about how they'll sort those boards on the water channel side of the fence. I'm sure they've got it all worked out, but it seems an odd way to do it to leave that til last.
The design suggests that they will be fitting more of the same on the other side of the balustrade and a Capping Beam made of the same material. But it won't be a straightforward process for fitting them. Do you fancy being in the dinghy? Pure conjecture, I think they will probably use some sort of device that will sit on the decking and lean over the balustrade, so my guess is that we will only see that after they have completed the very N/S ends, which are sloped-upwards like an Aircraft Carrier ski-jump, needed for access of any wheeled device.
@davidbadcock2225 If it was me doing it, I'd be reaching through the fence trying to twist the nuts and sweating and swearing very loud wondering why I ever started the project. 🤣
The big screens look great. It's impressive how bright and clear they are in the daytime, must be super high quality. Btw, you've probably been asked this before but why are there dark grey panels amid the light grey ones on the eastern roof and why aren't they spaced evenly! No smartass replies from you know who please!
Wow! Either you want to know the answer or you don't. You have issues. A full answer would cause you problems as you'd interpret is as being 'smartass'. Less than full answers, which you have a problem with, will just state for the umpteenth time 'Chemistry' or 'Relax, it will even out'. For a period of time, about 6 months ago, it was probably the top repeated Q and A session in the comments, so I guess you don't read others' comments either. Have a good day and I hope another generous person steps forward for you.
That’s due to the natural oxidisation of the aluminium. Over time, it’ll all be the same colour but nobody will be able to see from ground level or in the stadium anyway
Hi Nick I've been reading that the Friedkin's want to increase the capacity any idea how they could do that as the roof's on and the seats are already in ?
Money can solve anything if you are prepared to throw enough at it. IMO, a project to increase the capacity, what ever the cost, is extremely unlikely inside a decade at least.
Very limited scope to increase the capacity. United Utilities have no intention of selling land to EFC, so the north stand is as high as it can be. Highly unlikely that Peel will sell Nelson Dock and they already have that as open water in their Liverpool Waters development, which has planning permission. Historic England and the council won’t approve the filling in of Nelson Dock. So, the south stand is as high as it can be. That only leaves the east and west stands to expand, but the cost of removing the roof/barrel cladding to increase the height will far outweigh the benefit of a few thousand more seats. If the government change the law on safe standing to allow 3 fans per 2 rail seats, the capacity could be increased to nearer 60K, but that’s unlikely to happen, unfortunately.
@@DuncTheBlue1878 Dunc: copy that response into a doc as you will be repeating that answer lots of times and it's a really good comprehensive answer, very much along the lines of what I would have replied too.
Peter: Dunc's answer is correct and valid in the arguments. What I would say is that you should not believe everything written either. Journalists love a story and the fact that TFG MAY be interested in developing the surrounding area for TFG/EFC's benefit is a rumour that MIGHT be true but people have then jumped to conclusions (2+2 = 17, doesn't it?). Increasing the capacity for hospitality and attendance does NOT necessarily mean increasing the seat capacity. Increasing the seat capacity would absolutely definitely mean a huge re-engineering cost with a complete roof and foundations renewal. They haven't got close to getting any income from the stadium, never mind increasing yet. The payback for a close-to-£800m stadium will probably take 10-15 years to payback. However, increasing the size of the East Stand with an extension maybe an option for increasing revenue for hospitality, not attendance.
@darrenclarke3677 It would help to take out a membership. Currently, members get a 48hrs ( not sure of the precise time ) window before tickets go on general sale
@@darrenclarke3677 I appreciate both sides of the argument. Goodison is where they left their legacy, but I like the idea of the DD statue being moved to the west plaza facing out across the Royal Blue Mersey over to the Wirral where he was born and bred. Up the Friedkin Toffees
Yes, I agree, those 2 statues , do belong to Goodison Parks history, it is great idea, to put DD, facing the Wirral, and maybe, they will find a spot for the Holy Trinity, after all the are all Everton Ledgends
It’s ready for 60k (standing). Footprint wasn’t big enough for 60k seats. Plus we’d never consistently fill 60k and a few thousand empty seats will look awful. 53k is fine for a club our size. Plus I’d rather not have 7k tourists or neutrals to help fill it- like West Ham and spurs.
@@eddie_1878 Good point. BUT why couldn't they have sloped the North Stand (making it symmetrical with the West) that could've increased the capacity by 5 or 6 thousand (?) I know this would've meant buying some "airspace" from UU) but this could've been negotiated, surely? It's a good point to keep tourists out, though and a crowd of 53 000 every game is a good one after all...

@@mikeoglen6848 United Utilities refused to sell, which is why the north stand is lower than the others. It’s as high and as big as it possibly can be.
Great videos Nick. Moan incoming!!!! East stand roof, why isn't the colour even right across? There are bandings of dark sections running across it! Thanks
That’s due to the natural oxidisation of the aluminium. Over time, it’ll all be the same colour but nobody will be able to see from ground level or in the stadium anyway
@@DuncTheBlue1878 Well, I personally visited Canal Street on many occasions watching Runcorn as a kid. That ground was right next to the Mersey and was freezing, especially midweek, evening games. Like I say, wrap up.
Would have been a good idea to use an hard wearing clear resin over the dock wall, perfectly flat, still see the wall but also protects it from thousands of people walking on it. Bad oversight by the early planning. That cement bodge is so ugly. 😞😞😞😞
I highly doubt what you see now with all the continuous dots will be the final finish. When they start testing lights they usually start off with dots to get the right height and position then they'll probably adjust them to their final settings. Which I'd imagine is a more blended look which goes to around the middle of the barrel cladding due to it's curvature 👍🏻
Nice stadium. Real football stadion. Imagine if football can be sport again instead of this pay to win shit we have last 30 years and madness where player salaries are getting higher and higher and where small clubs in the rest of Europe and the World are failing apart because no one will watch a club that has to sell the best players every year cos clubs from 5 major leagues got richer and got stronger and stronger and buy them all with abnormally large amounts of money !!!!!!

That’s the cable from the solar panels
Cheers Nick 👍
I like the flag idea, how many badges have we had since the beginning

The design of this new stadium totally different with others stadium. The BEST NEW STADIUM in premier league.Location is very strategic.
Just need the water in front dying blue {if it's enclosed off from the river} it can be done with safe stuff
Nick have you seen the video showing the walk from the dressing room to the tunnel I think it's a long walk
Have all of the protective sheet covers now been removed from the seats? Some seats look a different shade of blue to others.
Posh seats are a darker shade of blue
As i have a Everton way stone. Do the stones not have different club badges on them as mine looks like the late 70's badge
Hi Nick loving your videos wonder if you could focus on the small compound against the wall on the East Plaza up near the main vehicle entrance it has a small strip of astro turf in it do you or anyone else know why it's there?
It’s for dogs
Once again, it's an absolutely amazing video , just a quick one , the fence on on the north stand , why is there two types of fences ?
The higher fence is to shelter the team bus from bad weather when it drops the players off at the north tunnel entrance under the mezzanine
@DuncTheBlue1878 Thank you mate , cheers for letting us know 👍
Hi, We r still waiting 4 our tour after constant reminders. I can't see it happening now, though. On another note where and when are the bricks some of us personalised going in, or are they already there. Thinking of upgrading to Mini Pro 4 from Mini 2.....your thoughts....
Everton Way stones will be laid in the new year

Obviously the big screens will show advertising etc but are there any plans for digital advertising screens running all the way around the stands like the Spurs stadium? Perhaps just at pitch level?
Yes, there will be digital advertising at pitch side and the middle of the west and east stands (along the top of the executive boxes)
Will there be a 'grand opening' ceremony, there SHOULD be !

Great Video Nick, Do you know what the plans are for the contractors office areas once the build is completed?

I think the wall separating the upper and lower tiers of the south stand will also have the 1878s magnificent flags covering it
I hope so too....make it as blue and home advantage as possible, get the statues put by the ground too and cover the place with Everton livery
I assume they'll be boarding the other side of the fence along the channel ? Those things on the roof are cat boards plus some materials.
Right now, someone from Laing O'Rourke is thinking " f**k, I hope my boss hasn't seen this video " 😂
@@davidsullivan7743 Or ‘So that’s where I left it! I’ve been looking for those boards everywhere.’
How long does the grass take to grow from seeding?
8-10 days to start growing and 6-8 weeks to be fully established
Why does each edge of the North Stand, where it bleeds into the West and East Stand have a seating gap halfway up?
Wheelchair seating.
@ ahh yes. Excuse my ignorance there . Thanks for clarifying.
Thanks
@DuncTheBlue1878 Cheers mate yeah I couldn't think how it would be possible.
Can you show we’re the players entrance is.
??????
Will is be possible to buy match day tickets if you are not a season ticket holder?
Yes but there will be huge demand
@DuncTheBlue1878 thanks, do you have to be a member to buy tickets or can you buy as a random Joe public?
@@darrenclarke3677 Priority given to EFC members, but the club will also allocate a proportion to ‘tourists’ but these tickets will be expensive

Yes, I agree, those 2 statues , do belong to Goodison Parks history, it is great idea, to put DD, facing the Wirral, and maybe, they will find a spot for the Holy Trinity, after all the are all Everton Ledgends
It looks amazing but it should have been 60,000
It’s ready for 60k (standing).
