Irish Whisky! (Or is it whiskey??) Whatever the case, we have a nice selection of the famous spirit available on the island of Ireland. Fun fact: the Irish for "whiskey" is "uisce beatha", which directly translates to "the water of life"...the more you know! So of course, we sat down a number of our resident Irish People to see what they thought.

I think the font she was aghast at on that bottle of grain alcohol was actually called Clara? I used it on a cutesy invitation to a mock baby shower back when I was in high school. I loved playing with fonts and graphic layout and was always the one to set up invitations to events for our FFA chapter. .. someone shouldn't have let a kid play with the font on that lable though 🤮

One time in the US Navy I was stationed in Italy. I went home by plane to go home for Christmas. The plane made a stopover in Ireland in the middle of the night. The only thing open was a bar. So everyone on the flight sat around the bar talking. Everyone ordered Irish coffee except for me. I wanted Paddy with no ice.

Jameson was the first bottle of alcohol that I bought on my 19th birthday in March and it's fuckin' grand
This was one of my faves...although my whiskey sipping years are far behind me (25 years in fact).... watching Dermot get progressively happier and redder in the face was a rare gift.

There is a block party somewhere in the city every weekend plus festivals at the Summerfest grounds... Summerfest itself is the biggest music festival in the world... Honestly, the weather is not bad from late March through the end of December... We don't get -10° for a day time high most years... I've lived in a few places and I love this city...

You can tell whose the true whisky drinkers are. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Dermot more happy in his video than drinking whiskey with Martin.
obviously, Dermot and Martin are whiskey drinkers and have the ability to taste the difference from different distillers. In San Francisco, there is a bar famous for its Irish coffee drink that only uses Bushmills.

That Paddy story inspired me. I want to buy a peanut farm, make peanut butter, and name the brand Dermot. And then send samples of all of my candies and peanut butter snacks to the Try Channel so they can all, especially Dermot, give their opinions on the taste of Dermot Peanut Butter snacks.
If I worked there, I'd have him shoot one of these videos and just have a jar of peanut butter there for him to look at. He'd probably be spending the whole shoot wondering when his old nemesis would finally make its presence known, then as the last part was about to start, I'd walk over to it (again, in full view), bring it over to the table...and put it away in a bag.

As funny as it is to imagine the conflict it might give Dermot, the idea of a peanut butter flavored whiskey is just too fucked up to contemplate. It would be the durian fruit of alcohols. Which means, of course, that some truly mental folk would find it delicious. I shudder.
