When you go to the Records Menu, you will see a range of behavior specific to each characters. Those are based of your play style in the game.
These are the passive actions that your allies will perform in battle if you are not controlling them or commanding them. These are learnt and based from your play style, you will see a "Recording" notification during battle indicating that a new behavior is being added or adjusted.
You can customize, edit, swap, and delete these behaviors (Art Codes). You can even download Art Codes from online (Specific to each weapon). You can even create Record and it will fill up depending on your play style.
Art Codes ignore SP and cool down time when using their skills, so just one can bolster you significantly.
Modifying Art Codes requires Customization Points, which is obtained through conversation with your allies, chain attacks in battles and other actions that strengthen your bond.
By default, Art Codes learn from your play style, growing alongside you. But through customization you can lock an Art Code and fix its behavior. Additionally you can modify the Arts Codes parameters and add execution conditions, make it behave exactly as you desire.

nice to see someone make a vid on this but your not explaining how to actually use this or what everything means/does. Another vid giving examples on how to customize it and being seen in combat would be nice

Hey mz, nice Video again, saw videos about the artcodes and behavior and no one mentioned that the behavior 0 like "tactic" is way more important for the playstyle, in most fights they will act like behavior "0" tells them to :) thats what i mentioned the time i tried to understand the behaviorsystem

So if I wanted my character to heal/buffs as I'm using someone else how would I set that up exactly

got a question? how do i can delete some records? i got a record for dual wield inside my one hand sword and a dagger record inside my bow records, dont know how that happend but because they are for a different weapon i cant delete the records

The one thing I'm confused about right now is when I use charge luminous art and then use it to heal everyone, it recorded this charge luminous sacred art charge no > use luminous sacred art charge yes

It adds segments as you play. You can't add them manually.
What are the skills in the Stock area of the bottom of your edit records screen used for? I have some on my characters but can not use or move them? Eeekkkk!
is there a way to increase the Customizable Area points??
So wait, let's say I play as silica and let the ai learn from my play style with daggers. Will it still learn if I'm on that character or will it only work if it's on my own?

I'm on pc and when around 2:20 min in your video you used the Record new function, On pc this function opens a menu that does nothing did you unlock these functions later then chapter 2 because that's where I'm at right now and the whole customization is not available on pc for anyone right now so is this a bug or did you unlock that somehow ?

@@kazugaya612 Yeah this dude probably thinks he's too special to answer a simple question, so I'll answer myself from what I've gathered this is a bug on the pc version and will probably be fixed this month.

since there's new patch fix arts code on pc how do we create new segment? i can't only delete them but create anything
Only through playing with the character or playing the weapon, they allways have to learn, there is no way to add a Segment by yourself...sadly
It won't let me select anything when I try to record new behaviors or customize existing ones. Anyone else have this problem? How do you fix it?
There are only 22 Segments for every behavior, so if u change skills for the characters there is a possibality that there is not more space for any segments. That aside u cant change nothing special, only some little changes like range and status of the enemy. Hope this is helpfull
So does that mean i would have to manually play the other characters to map out their AI behaviors?
Yes, Im making alice a healer and from playing maybe 30min with her her healing action tree has already started recording my play style as a healer.
If I dont give them orders in battle, they just walk around like headless chicken. THe whole AI behaviour we can see in the menu doesnt work without manually ordering them to do. What do I have to do to actualy make them fight by themselves? In your first fight they seem to act themselves
this is the most annoying mechanic in the game
Hey Murad I looked in my npc window yerterday and found a lot characters I do not recognize. Also a level 50 npc with a network symbol on the left of her name. Do you know where they came from?
Hey Mark those random character's are other real players characters that you have picked up by asking wayfarers to join your squad, you can lock them if you dont want to lose a certain one. Your character is automatically uploaded into other players worlds thats why you will randomly complete missions, that would have been someone using your charcter in their game. Hope that helps!
Anyone know what the Persona and Anima do when you get the percentages fully maxed in Records for a character?
they actually unlock the personal codes, which means you will be able to equip other characters with these personal codes. also with some characters you will get a costume. working on a full guide so do check it out. -MD

How i can create my own record? i can access the "New record" menu but i can't select anything from that even i want to customize record it won't let me do that
Exactly the same problem, cant select anything, therefore cant create any new behaviour. i do suspect that you actually have to play that weapon to have the command, but I am not sure.
Edit : I think its just bugged.

Record is bugged on PC. It only work fine on console for now. They need to fix it, the only way for pc is to download it from a player for now.
So the only solution is wait for dev patch the game? man that suck

So i actually CANNOT add or remove nodes from ai behavior?
Yes, you only get five plus the Persona, which is the actual Combat Skills used. You can remove skill usage from the persona list by deleting it but have to use the character or weapon to re-map it if you want it back. You can set nodes with Record New when clicking on an empty node.
When do u unlock the record section of the menu?
Once you reach chapter 2

If you're on PC search for Art Codes Records Obtaining List on reddit for a somewhat detailed list on how to get your AI to not be statues. I'm also looking for more details on how to obtain more codes so if you know how to get one let me know!
