    Where were you, when I had 2 different teeny, tiny Rotator Cuff tear incidents? Had physical therapy and no surgery.... Oh, I I didn't know about you but now I do. Had to fight w/a shoulder surgeon who couldn't believe my mobility after 1month of exercising w/physical therapy and doing light tai-chi, elliptical and broome handle exercises like you showed....thank you for these 5:awesome reminders...

    My PT, DPT, CSCS has started me with the wall angel, flexion wall walks, and shoulder external rotation scapular retraction with resistence band. Today he even had me lifting weights. It is on account of my bike collision with a SUV in the middle of the road that caused several injuries. My latest 4th PT session is for my collarbone shoulder injury.

    The wall thing: my back won't stick to the wall. The middle back gets uncomfortable when I lift my hands. It is 'pushing' away from the wall and my right arm is moving away from the wall. I'm also feeling this same arm during the down was dog movements. Not painful but some ball in it.

    This is great info! Pointing out it’s not just one area of the shoulder affected! My husband has bicep tendonitis (showed him these exercises). Could he gradually benefit from doing each of these exercises? Understanding that if he hurt he would have to back off! Or can you point me to one of your videos that he could start on before this? Also, should he do the exercises everyday to gain the most benefit or how often? Thanks so much!

    Will these stretches help my rounded shoulders and posture???

    • @ollvi
      @ollvi 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      they might help to some degree, i've been doing these exercises along with many other exercises for probably 1.5 years and yes they helped little bit, i gained more mobility on my shoulders and overall my shoulders feels better when doing these exercises, but they never really fully corrected my rounded shoulders, so when i started doing deadlifts (doesn't matter what deadlift variation, any will do) it took only couple of weeks to fully fix my rounded shoulders, so if you want to fix your posture fast, start doing deadlifts with correct form ofc. The same thing was with my anterior pelvic tilt, i did bodyweight glute bridges to fix it, but i get pretty much no results, but when i started using weights with glute bridges and actually started gain strength with progressive overload, then my anterior pelvic tilt got fixed. So in my experience you need to actually get your weak muscles strong to fix your posture by lifting heavy or medium weights and progressively add more weight

    Hmmm... Years ago, not only was this stuff not done, it was also not necessary. Think on that...

    • @donquixote...
      @donquixote... 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Slimz Beats Nope... They/we still had stuff to read, etc (corded phones, paper notebooks, books). No computers so everything had to be done manually, tediously. Think adding machines, and manually working things out on paper, etc. Yes, a bit more active, so you're a bit warmer there...

    • @donquixote...
      @donquixote... 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Slimz Beats I can see that... But this is generally what you see online, and initially it does seem compelling. And for the record, we have to recognize generalities from specific cases. But, I believe it has a lot to do with the types of movements we do in the gym, and the style of training. Everything doesn't have to be a quasi HIT style of training, there ought be more balanced stimulus, and more ROM throughout. So, some of this stuff not only on this video, but others was already incorporated into the types of movements we'd do in the past. Of course the exercise scientists told us how bad those things were for us, building value for their information, and services. So now they're telling us to do the same emulative types of things, just in ways that meet their approval.

    • @donquixote...
      @donquixote... 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Slimz Beats But general activity can't be discounted either. I know for myself I can do the right kinds of exercises, but just don't have enough time in my schedule to exercise often enough, or for sufficient leisure time. I don't know how old you are, but wonder how much of a schedule crunch younger folks are having. If much of this stuff is directed at older people, it's more understandable. But my impression is that we're talking about guys in their 20s & 30s maybe...??? And I can't understand that... When I was younger, I understood a twisted ankle (from being out doing stuff, many times), but I didn't know what tense, tight shoulders were, or what it meant, it was not in my cosmos.
