Wow. I have had lower back pain for a year. Never thought it would be related to tight hip flexor. Went to physiotherapy and chiropractor in two different occasions. I did this once and WOW. When I got to the squat exercise and pushed out my legs my lower back actually cracked and it was amazing! Can't wait to see how i feel tomorrow but I feel so good right now. I will be doing this every day. One year of misery and hundreds of dollars with no results and one time doing this and I can't say it enough but WOW! I was feeling like an old man but now im so pumped. Thank you sooo much
Thanks for these series of stretches Brian and Gillian, my right hip was really tight compared to the left initially, after doing these advanced exercises and other suggested Hip mobility stretches for the last 2 months, my hips are way way better now, my flexibility has really improved, but the main thing is that some of my lower back pain has now virtually gone! so can't thank you enough for these videos!

Good video. It might be geared towards more advanced or otherwise athletic folks, but It could be helpful to novices to have two demonstraters or take the time to show modified versions. Also, maybe talk about form (i.e. curving back vs keeping straight and pivoting from hip, etc). HI Aswin. When it comes to bowed legs you want to be doing exercises that will work your adducctors as these will help to pull your knees towards each other. You want to be sure that you are also stretching your glutes which will help with the external rotation of your legs. I'm a runner and I also do strength training. I'm in need of help with shin splints. I've done strengthening of the muscles involved, icing, foam rolling, stretching before and after, run on grass to give my shins a break, good shoes and change often, insoles, rest till pain is gone etc. Name it and I most likely have done it. I'm close to giving up running if I can't get rid of the pain. Unfortunately for me, I love to run and compete. Any suggestions, will be greatly appreciated.

To be more clear I'm fond of gym, having good physique, no severe pain. Just not able to dead lift as I used to. I was able to lift heavy weight bending forward in past. Been almost 9 months now. I was in pathetic agony last Christmas. Wasn't able to bend forward at all. Still I feel muscle tightness in lower back. You're doing a noble job, mate. Much appreciated. I love this turorial. I'm a dancer. During a live performance I suffered an injury to my right gluteal area. That ball and socket site has been very painful. Its been hard to do stretches like toe touches and hip stretches like the examples in this video. Do you have any recommendations for different exercises?
Was told by an othopedic for my son not to NOT to stretch my groin as I have a small edema there. Was told it was going to heal with time? What else can he do in the meam time?
It's actually my brother who has a misaligned hip, unfortunately he doesn't really have the time to go see a chiropractor so he will usually research certain stretches and try it out till he can go see one
One more question, Ive always had weak knees most of my life so I find doing squats or anything lower body more challenging bc of having a patellar instability. Any suggestions on working lower body while having weak knees?

Bad knees are typically due to ankle or hip issues, even both. Are there physical issues with your knees, like any damages?

It's not a bad idea to incorporate other exercises or spend a little extra time focussing on the area that needs extra attention to regain balance.

I tried to pull knee to chest but can't lift more than 30degree..pain in lower back...is it tight hip rotation..is it good for lumber pain
Generally this does help most people. Some people find it aggravates lumbar pain more. Be sure to see your doctor. Good luck!

Some of these can be performed from a seated position or from your back. Another option is to put a pillow under your knees for more support. 🙂

Doing so, I get stiffness on hip joint/spinal and hip joint. I cat explain the pain in spinal or hip exactly. But sure in the joints. Am 62/M
