How to fix some awkward handling issues with the Galaxy s7 edge. Go to settings and activate the 'one hand operation' function. When you triple tap the home button, the useable screen gets smaller on the display "equalent size to the iPhone 5s screen", you can align it too the left or right depending on what hand you normally hold your phone in. All apps/ functions work normally. I use this function on my s7 edge all of the time. It's bloody brilliantly!!!!. Hope this tip helps people out 😋
My mom got the Galaxy S7 Edge and she's in love with it, she is one of those people that puts a case on it immediately though. I think the case probably helps with typing because she hasn't complained about that very much
totally agree, upgraded from the s6 and the difference is so much more than i thought. battery life is crazy, always have atleast 30% left at the end of the day...but most importantly i noticed s7 edge is just a million times faster...so much more fluid and snappy..no regrets at all..plus that bigger screen is bombbbbb
The unresponsive keyboard when it is in your palm is a remarkable analysis and a credit to the uploader. I've watched a lot of videos online reviewing the S7 and S7 Edge and this analysis has single-handedly swayed me towards the more professional and traditional looking S7 despite its smaller screen and battery
Critical Enchant Hey, yeah. I love the Galaxy S7 Edge. its really quick and looks awesome. + it feels really sturdy and premium. Also android is great.
I'm subscribed to around 100 youtube channels that have smartphone content and this is one of the best reviews of the S7 Edge I have seen so far. Great job.
even though it takes away from the look of the phone, an Otter Box for S7 Edge is pretty good. Better than a crack across the screen. You can still see the black/silver/gold it came in on the front since the screen cover also lets you see the Samsung logo on the top by the camera and see the back, home, and the recents button (which is a given) So you still get to see that slick design on the curved screen and the style of the phone whether silver/black/gold. My old Motorola Mini (Red) had an Otter Box similar to this one.
Excellent review. I just bought the s7 Edge in gold pink and its the best phone ever for me. I don't regret the expensive purchase. Totally worth it in my opinion. I also had the s6 and note 5 but this s7 Edge is the best for me. I enjoy your video and you are the most handsome man I've seen in tech reviews. 😍😆 saludos!
Thanks for the review. Your comments at 2:42 is the most important thing to consider if you are on the line about getting this vs the regular S7. As much as I would like the larger battery capacity, I would not be able to stand that frustration of your fingers or palm touching the edge of the screen interfering with its usefulness. Samsung should consider making the larger version with non-edge variant.
brilliant review and nice to have an English accent on one of these videos! You're going to give mkhb a run for his money haha. I like the fact that you mention the little things like edges feel in the hand and the fact that you have a problem typing sometimes due to your hand touching the screen. These are the things that really matter and are the exact reason I use the normal s7 as opposed to the edge! great work, keep it up :) cheers
I have the same experience with the curved edges. It's a really nag that it is like that. I've owned the white one of this from april 2016 to february of 2017 and sold it... Now I am fed up with white phones, so I just bought me (on the way in the mail) the Onyx Black version of the Galaxy S7 Edge - I can't help, eventhough I have the same issue with the edge, but have to purchase the new one. :) hehe! - Can't wait till I get it. - Oh and YES: I am going to make another unboxing of it as well. -thanks for very informative and nice videos Tech Chap - Really like them! -Regards from Arnt in Norway
Probably the best S7 Edge review I've seen so far. Great job! I got mine a couple weeks ago, and at first was starting to regret it a bit because of the problem you describe where one inadvertently touches the edge. But I got a case, and that has essentially completely resolved the problem. It's also way easier to pick up and hold while using. Now that that frustration is out of the way, I'm totally loving this phone (having come from a Note 3, which I also loved, but was getting long in the tooth). Although the phone is now effectively bigger and a bit less sexy because of the case, at least it's also better protected. I agree that the edge features themselves are of questionable utility, but they have started to grow on me a bit. Will probably just take some getting used to to integrate more seamlessly into the way I use my phone. But I do appreciate the bigger battery and screen compared to the S7. I admit I notice the difference in size between this screen and the 5.7" screen on the Note, but I'm getting used to it, and I think it will be big enough for me.
+Josh Levinson Thanks Josh! It's a shame to use the case as it definitely bulks the phone up but as you say it solves so many issues it's definitely worth doing.
as a galaxy S7 user couldn't agree more with all your thoughts about it! and ...you are right about Edge model, Im really happy because I didnt go for Edge model. Edges reflect lights like crazy, its difficult to hold, etc In my opinion regular S7 is the best smartphone on the market right now !!!
Great review! Was always interested in GS7E and this review is straight up honest with real life usage and down to earth aspects.. You definitely deserve more views and subs! Keep up the good work!
As someone who is a Nokia man, this will be my first time with a Samsung , I have looked at the 6 edge + but have been advised to go for the S 7 edge, so my change over date is Saturday 17th September, so am looking forward to being apart of the Galaxy family, for the very first time. and at 72 this will be a big change for me, but as they say, a change is as good as a rest. I bought *ASUS Zenfone 2* since 2015, and I just bought a new *S7 Edge* couple days ago, and I just wanna say that I have same opinion as you. It's *WORTH* to upgrade! thanks for the review!
Just to let everyone know, any case you get will fix the palm touching the screen annoyance. I have a slim case and it still keeps my palm well away from the edge of the screen
great review and great phone...but somehow i am used to my 5.7 inch screen on note 3 n9005... will wait for note 6 definetly...hopefully they return removable battery to new note phones as it is very usefull just to change battery when phone is empty and you are in the middle of nowhere.
what a good review, i bought s7edge and i was not disappointing a great phone to have, camera, the sd slot, battery life and water proofing is the best deal this phone has to offer and one more thing the design is stunningly beautiful, both hands up good review bro
Yes it is. I have the 6P and I really like it. It's tempting to get a new Samsung, but I'm really impressed with the smoothness of the 6P, plus getting timely updates has been very cool.
I was having the same problem with my palm touching the edge and not allowing me to type on the keyboard. I got the Otterbox Symmetry which is quite minimalist and the problem is solved. This phone is phenomenal! I can't believe how sharp the screen is. I can't wait to play with some of the RAW images that I've been taking in Lightroom / Camera Raw
Liked your review, first one watched, and I had a hard time deciding on the phone, I ordered a s7 edge .. and plan to use a case, I went with it due to expandable storage over the note 5 ... What is your daily driver phone?
You should get the vrs design shine guard clear case. It looks very stylish and still keeps the look of the phone amazing, and has a few added textures on the back and sides for a good grip! Great review!
The best review I have watched on the s7 edge and glad you picked up on the 9.1mp drop to use 16:9 format which I think was a crazy move for Samsung not to make is 16:9 default using 12mp camera but maybe had reason for doing 4:3. thanks for a great review
+Thomas Johnson depends if you prefer soft/hard cases and really lightweight/thin or heavy/durable. Personally, would recommend something like this: www.amazon.co.uk/Spigen-Hybrid-Premium-Protective-Samsung-Neo-Satin-Silver/dp/B01B1I6JMM?ie=UTF8&keywords=s7%20edge%20case&qid=1460047681&ref_=sr_1_1&s=telephone&sr=1-1
Great video, good job. I'm still not sold on the edge screen. Still seems gimmicky and as you mention a few times, annoying. Currently using the 6p, and I'm loving it! But I do miss my S-pen from my note 4, and since the Note 5 never came to Europe, I'm keeping my hopes high for the Note 6 this year! I have a feeling that it's going to be great this time! Keep up with the good work!
amazing review very realistic and practical ! all the other reviewers are drooling over the edge phone just because of looks and recommending it also, although its much better than s6 edge plus, its still a fuss in day to day use! thats why i went for standard s7 gold!
Hey there nice video but I have 2 questions. The first one being how much fps does the s7 camera record at and also are you gonna do a give away anytime soon because I would like to get a chance at getting that cheeky s7 😀
the curve sometime bring some problem....... when u texting and your palm touch the curve, you can't texting temporarily until your palm off from the curve
I've always preferred the android devices and os however where it falls over for me is the apps themselves. For the apps I use on a daily and weekly basis the android versions were just poorly designed, optimised and were unreliable. Often crashing and struggling to load. On iOS they are much better. I was using a Sony xperia z5 and it was also often struggling for signal compared to my iPhone.
+Liam Ashton Got the Z5 and going for the S7 Edge now. Never had your issue with the Z5 compact. My girlfriend tho has big issues with the signal on her 6s iphone :p
Solid review! Thank you! I ditched my HTC One M8 (that I still really loved after only a year) for the incredible display on the S6 Edge, but I've been regretting it for nearly a year because of the HORRIBLE battery life. Now I'm torn between sticking with Samsung and going with the S7 Edge, or going back to HTC and getting the 10. Sure, the Edge screen is kind of a gimmick, but I do use it since they upgraded it. Decisions! Decisions! Thanks again for a stellar review!
actually the "incidental edge touching" issue was fixed along the upcoming updates, I didn't experience the issue anymore after a few updates....and I think most of the people don't find any issue with the size of the phones, you would get used in grabbing the s7edge in no time
Question for you, is it safe to buy the s7 edge on that amazon link? There are really good prices there, but then again, it scares me that they sell me a fake one ..
very honest video big respect for the truth the thing with the keys would push me to get a bit crazy at having a edge it looks good but not so. all phones are soft around the edges got to take care about that.
nice video ! i have 1 question though. with the always on display , if you use a clock or calender it moves around the screen to avoid the LED from burning out , but if you use an image does it move and if not does it burn out the LED ?
Oliver Stravanger yes Samsung has put in different themes you can download onto the phone to add different looks and feels to the device and if you don't like the themes you can always download a 3rd party launcher
very surprised you think this phone digs into your delicate hands, as you are like the only reviewer who doesn't think this is very comfortable to hold in the hand. but then again, you are the only one i have listened to who didn't get the need for a case, until you learned it the hard way. so such is life. as for the keyboard, you are also the first one i've heard to mention this, but you can use swiftkey, which lets you resize the keyboard. other than those afore mentioned points, pretty decent review.
+Stev We Thanks Stev - well it will be different for everyone as your grip won't be the same as mine so it may be worth trying one out in a shop first - and for sure a case will make it easier to hold and obviously protect it too :)
i use the spigen neo hybrid case, which makes it very easy to pickup, hold and use. i have zero accidental touches, and it is well protected. plus the lines are the neo hybrid case are exactly the same lines as the s7e. it's beautiful.
for the probs relating the accidental touching the edges, you will fix the prob by using a case..aswell, you'll save the phone of being broken or dented..there are only a minor number of people with edges that I know that have no marks on them..
I have the S7 edge in silver, absolutely stunning workmanship and quality, Fit and finish is superb, Samsung had its A game on when designing and building the S7/S7 edge. The screen is gorgeous with colors that are bright vivid and really pop. One disappointment so far is battery life. I also use an Iphone 6S plus and the plus blows the S7 edge away in battery life, its not bad, just not nearly as good as I was lead to believe. I have not however, tried power saving mode or ultra power saving mode. Performance is top notch, this phone flies without a hitch. The ability to chance themes is a nice touch, Micro SD support and water dust resistance are just icing on the cake, good job Samsung!

Purchased an S7 edge and do not regret it one bit, the best phone I've ever used.
+Jager Yeah after 1 month used, no regrets at all, really love it
Does it lag after 1 year
wolf hunter tbh i using about 4months now its good phone amd the battery is great and i see people say after 1year of use u will notice some lag
Did you ever have a problem with the display?
My mom got the Galaxy S7 Edge and she's in love with it, she is one of those people that puts a case on it immediately though. I think the case probably helps with typing because she hasn't complained about that very much

Love the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, great all round phone, thank you for your reviews, helped me chose my new phone, best phone camera I have ever used
I like how your desk is consistently one degree warmer towards the left-hand side.
Nice review, thanks! You are very good at this, keep going!

i like the review about typing in which i don't see with others. at last. not only me. which is true.
Great review!

yeah the typhing issues of s7e. I kinda hate the "edge thing". Just when I am learning to love my own phone, s8 caught my eye.. and now perplex.
this guy wasn't even pressing the buttons lol pretending that he was
+Trystan Dagg use a case. it stops that.
+Cameron retason Even with some cases..
+Trystan Dagg it's shouldn't with a bezel case. otherwise toy just can't hold a phone right.

+pepito cordova Thanks very much :)
Another great video! Do you think the Nexus 6p is still a good competitor with these phones?
+Tom Ameen I do yeah, and it's a fair bit cheaper isn't it?
Yes it is. I have the 6P and I really like it. It's tempting to get a new Samsung, but I'm really impressed with the smoothness of the 6P, plus getting timely updates has been very cool.
If I didn't had a Nexus 6P, I might get it. Looks amazing.
6p still the king
I was having the same problem with my palm touching the edge and not allowing me to type on the keyboard. I got the Otterbox Symmetry which is quite minimalist and the problem is solved. This phone is phenomenal! I can't believe how sharp the screen is. I can't wait to play with some of the RAW images that I've been taking in Lightroom / Camera Raw

glad you liked it. my daily driver is the galaxy s7 :)
A nice job... your covered all the bases...thanks for spending some time on the audio area...
You should get the vrs design shine guard clear case. It looks very stylish and still keeps the look of the phone amazing, and has a few added textures on the back and sides for a good grip! Great review!
I'm still stuck between the edge and the regular s7 unfortunately.
Thank you for the informative review anyway!
I plan on getting the s7 edge next month in gold or silver, due to the battery life of this phone and the edge features also
Upgraded to the S7 edge from the Note 4. I am so glad I did!
The best review I have watched on the s7 edge and glad you picked up on the 9.1mp drop to use 16:9 format which I think was a crazy move for Samsung not to make is 16:9 default using 12mp camera but maybe had reason for doing 4:3. thanks for a great review

actually the "incidental edge touching" issue was fixed along the upcoming updates, I didn't experience the issue anymore after a few updates....and I think most of the people don't find any issue with the size of the phones, you would get used in grabbing the s7edge in no time
Question for you, is it safe to buy the s7 edge on that amazon link? There are really good prices there, but then again, it scares me that they sell me a fake one ..
best review for s7 edge
very honest video big respect for the truth the thing with the keys would push me to get a bit crazy at having a edge it looks good but not so. all phones are soft around the edges got to take care about that.
Hi. Cand you please tell me what model of Asus display is that behind you? Thanks!
nice video ! i have 1 question though. with the always on display , if you use a clock or calender it moves around the screen to avoid the LED from burning out , but if you use an image does it move and if not does it burn out the LED ?
images move too :)
great review sound honest. well done
I love both phones it's really hard to choose which one to buy
At 6:47 are you able to change the color of that blue panel at the top? Are there any third party options to change the color too?
Oliver Stravanger yes Samsung has put in different themes you can download onto the phone to add different looks and feels to the device and if you don't like the themes you can always download a 3rd party launcher
Awesome thank you.
Anytime
extremly getting hot and battry draining to zero percent even i switchoff
i am shocked. very bad experience of my life.
very surprised you think this phone digs into your delicate hands, as you are like the only reviewer who doesn't think this is very comfortable to hold in the hand. but then again, you are the only one i have listened to who didn't get the need for a case, until you learned it the hard way. so such is life. as for the keyboard, you are also the first one i've heard to mention this, but you can use swiftkey, which lets you resize the keyboard. other than those afore mentioned points, pretty decent review.
+Stev We Thanks Stev - well it will be different for everyone as your grip won't be the same as mine so it may be worth trying one out in a shop first - and for sure a case will make it easier to hold and obviously protect it too :)
+The Tech Chap TV you can resize the Samsung keyboard too.
i use the spigen neo hybrid case, which makes it very easy to pickup, hold and use. i have zero accidental touches, and it is well protected. plus the lines are the neo hybrid case are exactly the same lines as the s7e. it's beautiful.
I just bought s7 edge I want to ask u should I get normal screen protector or I get the glass one what do u recommend thx
Great Video man!
Great review mate
for the probs relating the accidental touching the edges, you will fix the prob by using a case..aswell, you'll save the phone of being broken or dented..there are only a minor number of people with edges that I know that have no marks on them..
+Stephen Berry It's an incredible phone!
Very good review.
The OtterBox case works superbly.
