Hell yeah,my 01 ram with the magnum has gone through one engine and has had a lot of issues but I love it. It’s a single cab short bed. Interior is very nice and comfortable. And when nothing is broken it is very reliable and a good work horse for me.
I got a 02 ram with the ole 5.9 360. Tru-Dual y out the back with 6” tips and love it. Had it since 2011 and it still runs to the day.. 260k miles before my head gasket blown them got a new motor and she’s running great with not a single problem. Only then you’ll have to worry about us the transmission. Had mine built
Sweet purchase!! Yes the dashes all crack on these, and you can run 35s the way it sits or 37s with a leveling kit… These IMO were the coolest trucks when they came out, 2nd gen for the win!! Can’t wait to see what you have planned for Maggie!!🤙
My first truck was a 94 Dodge Ram 1500 2 wheel with the 5.2, that truck was fast as hell. I don’t know how recalls work after this long a time, but there was a recall on the secondary hood latches. My hood folded back on me too when I forgot to fully close it after a neighbor interrupted me doing maintenance to ask me to haul something for him, the secondary hood latch gave out around 50-60mph, bent back the corners of the hood and smashed my windshield, but everything was fixed feee by Dodge as there was a recall on the secondary hood latch! I remember hauling a stage (on end) for a small rave in the bed of my dodge, it stood 8’ above my truck but I still had no problem doing 110 to get it to the show just in time (build ran late)
Don't let cleets experience make you nervous. Those 360s are really good motors, cleet just got screwed and that poor truck he got has just had a rough life. I mean it made it 2 or 3 hrs of hard driving with 0 oil pressure, pretty impressive really.
My sister lost the 318 in her single cab truck with a 5 speed transmission. We swapped in a 5.9 and set it up with long tube headers, 3.5 inch exhaust, and a flowmaster 40. Let’s just say it turns heads wherever she goes. Has a sound all its own. We can pick it out from a few blocks away.

Absolutely loved that thing, but young me sold it to some other guy for 5500 bucks, 6 months later, i get a letter from a local scrapyard with questions about the title for the truck, turns out, the guy never registered it under his name and he completely totaled it out by t-boning a semi. It still hurts my heart to this day.

You should name it Walker or Chuck because of the Show Walker Texas Ranger. Chuck Norris had a lifted ram with a roll bar and a brush bumper in that show

I’d say go easy on the driveline. Don’t beat the piss out of it or your transmission will crap itself. Also they are somewhat prone to cooling issues, and if you’re running the truck pretty hard even with or without cooling issues the heads can crack. And that’s not a very fun job.

5” lift and a 2.5” level will clear 20x12s with 37s and 4th gen 20s with 38x15.50 mud grapps both had plenty of clearance from the fenders
