Few things have changed since Aug 2017
1. Middle seats are foldable.
2. The supercharging network is huge and the car only needs 15-25min top up to get 80% charge. Not 45 mins.
3. The car's onboard navigation and range estimation is very accurate and will tell you exactly where to stop for charging. (Route planner)
4. The falcon wings are practical and work just fine. I own a car and I'm telling you. (Ignore the 13-year-olds commenting here)
5. The fit and finish have improved significantly.
6. The car has Autopilot Version 9 (Car sees with 8 camera's, Radar and Ultrasonics) and autopilot works great. (Requires full supervision of the driver)
7. Tesla is upgrading its Autopilot HW suite to version 3 soon with a super-powerful computer that can handle their super neural network. (Means level 4 self-driving is close to reality) and any cars built with hardware suite 2.5 is easy to upgrade with a small chip plug and play.
8. The car's onboard cameras can be used as a dashcam.
9. Remote Tesla app is improved and can heat the car remotely (Even seats, steering wheel)
10. If you install a level 2 charger at home you can 100% charge the car in under 4hrs.
11. Version 9.0 firmware has activated all cameras and the car has blind spot detection, vehicle type recognition, pedestrian, cyclist recognition.
12. New update enables "Nav on autopilot" feature which enables automatic overtaking slow vehicles and intelligent driving)
13. The car UI is improved significantly and much pleasant to use.
14. EU Tesla owners get Spotify premium lifetime to stream as much music as they want. (US users get Slacker I think)
15. The supercharging network is massive and you can drive from north Norway to South Portugal)
Few not so good things.
1. No 360' parking view so still some blind spots when parking.
2. The over the air updates can create bugs and sometimes cause error messages.
3. Autopilot is still not 100% safe on normal roads but works perfectly fine on motorways. (Auto lane change is amazing)
4. Nav on Autopilot is great but still need a lot of work.
5. If you damage the car it can take forever to get it fixed due to slow parts supply chain.
6. Customer service is OK and could be improved.
7. The car's interior quality is still not that great compared to some other ICE vehicles like Audi Q7. (Nowhere near in my opinion)

I agree. The 'normal' sound system actually is quiet decent. The premium packet basically gives you a subwoofer, but the normal sound system has a very decent amount of bass. The Falcon Wing doors do work very well and there's no water dropping inside the cabin, so sealing is great.

Don't know why people on this channel hate the look so much. I quite like it.
It looks really good in black, 22 inch optional wheels and suspenssion set to low setting. Also, I dont know it might sound funny, but I swear it looks way better from the rear in US license plates. for some reason, those european long license plates mess the looks of the car.

As much as I love Tesla for what they are doing, I think most reviewers are just too positively biased in their reviews!
If you factor out the the electric motor and simply compare the car to its competitors, it is not worth the price tag at all!
1. Usually Matt likes to mention how most SUV these days are not suitable for proper off-roading but here the fact is just completely overlooked!
2. The interior may look good for some people, but I think the one in an s-class or fully loaded Q7 looks and feels way better than this.
3. The Falcon-wing doors might look cool, but are super impractical. (You cannot fully open the window, no storage compartments etc.)
4. I think a lot of people, including myself, prefer traditional buttons over a giant touchscreen display. I mean look at BMW's i-drive system. It's dead easy and intuitive to use while driving. Tesla's are designed for autonomous driving, the scenario in which you can take your eyes off the road and fiddle with all the nice settings on the touchscreen. But if you are actually driving yourself, it's very distracting.
5. Well, the looks of that car. Great job on the drag-coefficient, but I think it just looks awful and hideous from the back. Compare that to an F-pace or a XC90.
Simply put, I fully understand why people would buy that car and what an outstanding job Tesla has done with the range, power and charging network. But I think it's not ok if most reviews are flashed by all the performance and forget most of the everyday compromise one has to make!
Andreas you are correct, the quality is atrocious and teslas costs like £30,0000-60,000 more then the equivalent car any engine car is better from Audi or BMW, the petrol costs would be so much cheaper then buying a tesla and in actual fact you save nothing apart from the environment but what does one less diesel or petrol mean for the world when there are billions? Teslas are just cool but not practical, aesthetically pleasing or great in any other way. Waste of money.

Aidan Ral well most owners don't go off road and anyway this tesla barely looks anything more then a fat ugly model S. it's not as big as you think on the road so apart from the 7 seats a saloon is better. And for self driving? Most people spending that much on a car don't really care, they Probably enjoy driving
The difference is Dual Motor BEVs are excellent offroad in mud and snow. Regardless if it is an SUV or some other category of vehicle.

Doesn't the latest model of the Model X have a different switch for opening/closing the rear doors (more a microswitch than a mechanical switch) and fold flat middle seats? That would suggest that this is not the 2017/18 Model X.

I love this car, totally unique even with it's quirks and the good vastly outweighs the bad imho. Matt did not have time to go through a lot more awesome capabilities of the vehicle. I've never seen anyone trying to close the frunk like that btw, it's one firm press - there are tiny ladies who can show you how it's done lol ;)

I don’t mean to hate on this van,but, how in the fuck are you going to park in the middle between two cars and be able to open the doors without hitting the cars on the side.
Like he said, it opens with just 11 inches of space. It's easier to enter than a regular car door
Each door has two hinges and sensors to open in tight spaces
i don't want to be late to the party, but you should check out the comparison tesla did during the anouncement for this car, it allows you to get in the car way easier than normal doors or even those weird sliding ones

this isn't the 2018 or 2017 tesla mdel x this one is older, the new Model X doesn't have a piano black finish on the back of the seat and the buttons for closing the Falcon Wing doors are different on the new Model X

Performance-wise, electric vehicles are all-around far more superior. those assholes just stick to hydrocarbon-fueled cars for little more than tradition (& noise). their argument is fuckin' invalid, the way i see it.
Falcon Windblade shitty range, crap charging time. Fix both of that, I'll sell my hybrid and buy an electric..
Hyperion Range is as good as any hydrocarbon-fueled car on average. Recharging does take time but unlike hydrocarbon-fueled cars, you can charge it EVERY DAY at home. Recharging time ain't an issue unless you're one of those who go cross-state all the time & having to drive for hours on end every day, which i doubt you're. For most people, "range" is merely an excuse instead of a real problem.
Falcon Windblade Its not you see. Because electrics do have lower range compared to hydrocarbons. And every so often, I go go vacations to different states. If I own an electric I have to calculate range, check to see if they have charging ports there AND be at the same place for at least an hour which is not practial.
Hyperion First of all, 'on average'. Hydrocarbon-fueled cars do have ones with small tanks & shitty range. Not every hydrocarbon-fueled ones out there have better mileage than electrics. & then, 'for most people'. If you're the kind who actually go cross-state, then it's a valid concern. Most people, most who bitch about range even, hardly even does that once a year.

This is not a 2018. Tesla doesn't do model years like other manufacturers. If you want a 2018 Tesla you'll have to wait until January 1, 2018. The title is misleading.

There are cup holders in the back. The hood closes very easily, but because the entire car is rust-free aluminium, it should never be closed like it was here as it will dent - place a hand on each side of the hood and press down once, then it’s closed. If you have a 5-seater you’ll have 2200 litres in the back trunk!! It’s an amazing car and the price has just been reduced by roughly £40-50K 😱
Im just waiting to snatch any of the versions from 2nd hand market. My god this car is amazing!
