real easy to add reverse light to most any brushed motor truck . wire up a set of L.E.D.s with a resistor , and tap into the motor leads in the appropriate polarity that illuminate them when you reverse . being diodes they will only work in one direction .
That is not safe for LEDs without an antiparallel diode. And brightness will change with the throttle... A better idea is to switch the backup LEDs with an optocoupler, connected to the motor wires with a resistor, diode and capacitor.
For the price I think it's a fantastic option. Just put better tires, a nice set of heavier wheels and it will do absolutely fine for trailing, it needs nothing else IMO.
This looks amazing. The last Blazer they did was my favorite looking trail truck looks wise. This almost takes its place. That's high praise. I do wish it was bigger. The larger the scale the happier i am.
Zero complaint on the body size, the opposite honestly, wish more companies would make the bodies a bit bigger and give us a truer scale look. Most of the 1/10 chassis aren't proportionally 1/10 anyway, it's always in the 1/9-1/8 range in reality so bigger bodies are a nice addition to the hobby. Great review as always 👍
They did a great job on the truck and the simplicity of it is one of the main reasons I bought it for my son as his main trail rig. He's going to go nuts when he opens it Christmas morning!! Awesome review man!
I like it. I actually already ordered one. Swap the servo, wheels and tires and it’ll be even more fun on the trails. Won’t compete against my TF2 twisted fab leaf trucks but a totally different scale driving experience. And it will look great along side my fms 1/10 Blazer when I let others drive it.
Pre ordered as soon as I got the email from FMS. Going to be a trail truck for me, maybe pulling a trailer. Glad to see you liked it, took the chance before any reviews.
I really like it and ordered one. I love the body! Only thing I wish they would've done is a chassis mounted servo and went three link with panhard. Other than that, I love it
Ugh. I think I need one in the fleet. I'm with you about colour. Love the lack of portals, and the stupid diff locks. They have their place but I'm not a fan.
I agree with you on the fantasy side I have a couple of trx4 and love them and one has spent more time in pieces because I've had some sorta trouble with it I resent got a Gen 8 and just love the simplicity of it in fact I liked it so much I got a second one and now it kinda my go to at the moment
i am not being in the crawler hobby anymore, more with 1/14 hydraulic functional trucks and excavators, but this looks like worth a try after a long time ;)
I really like this truck, not perfect but one I will definitely be buying, I’ll do exactly what you did and remove the Toyota badges and turn signals. Great review 👌🏽, I ordered this truck after watching your vid
I don't thing they geared it diffferently ... the K5 has a 21T motor while the LC80 has a 32T I'm of those who regret the lack of unlocking diffs (not especially interested in DIG but not against it)... sure it's more potential failure points but since the YK4103 and YK4106, I've learned to appreciate driving unlocked and having to lock only when needed ... I'm always stunned by how much you can do with unlocked axles. The body is not perfect, it has its quirks, like front fenders, C-pilar angle and shorter than real rear overhang, but it's not the only one, even from more established brands that also have their share of "artistic license".
Yes this is something I might consider as a platform for a build. A steel bumper with bars running around the front wheel arches might help hide the offending fenders? I would definitely have an Australian bumper ( roo bar) . Thank you both.
They need to fix the grill... that one had "TOYOTA" across the center bar. The later '95/'96 models had a new grill and the Toyota logo so that the LX version could have a Lexus logo.
Its so weird they did such a good job on the 1/18 version but got the wheel wells wrong on this one. I still like it. Def looks better w/out the TOYOTA stickers yelling at you.
I just received mine two days ago and I really like it! Thank you for this great informative video! I noticed why there is a flat spot on the front fenders! Its literally the exact fenders as the rear ones only flipped backwards and angled a little differently so if you take the right rear one off the and flip it then install it on the front left it is identical! Im assuming cost cutting by using less molds! Anyway thats my only thing cosmetically i don’t like besides the Toyota decal on the doors (I agree with you 100%) stay cool and RC on friend!👍😀☮️
Whoa whoa whoa Matt, kinda felt like you were coming after me a bit there buddy. I’m talking price point and value. When you have the option you can always use it, but when you don’t have the option then you can’t. Right? Just as the two speed some will use it some won’t. I will be using it though cause that’s the kinda guy I am…a user. Wait that might not be accurate. I dig the review Matt, I’m glad you finally like something from FMS. Joking buddy…slow down
Like the look of it and as I only have two trucks that even have a second gear let alone any of that dig and locking diffs malarkey it's suits me to the ground.
Thank you for just unplugging the signal lights. I hate them on my cars but don't understand why people who don't like them don't just do away with them!
I don't know why they put signal lights on rc's. I drive around every day, and hardly see anyone using them. 😅 I think most people think brake lights are the universal sign "I'm turning now". I have crawlers that have moa's, but scale rigs do look best with servos on the chassis. Keep up the great videos.
Great review! I did have one question though, the Toyota decals where removable, but are the stripes also decals that can be removed?;keep up the great work sir
I just soldered my wires to the magnets that hold my jeep hard body on. I wish I saw this prior because I would have just put the ring terminal on the bottom like they did. I’ve told myself I’m not buying another truck until i get the 10 on my shelves done. This may make me go against that. Edit: until I saw the servo on axle. I’ll hold off. Maybe just the body.
Nice rig, definitely buying it to pair it with RGT in a desert adventure, no portals!, simple, good fenders are included, transmitter looks similar to rgt. Does it is 2S and 3S capable?
i just came from watching your FCX Blazer review and I kinda agree with some of your negative perspective. I was looking more on the Element Zuul but this caught my budget and attention and if I were to get an IFS, are there any aftermarket replacements for it. I used to have the RGT DesertFox but now im leaning into this FMS. I want this .
This is definitely on my wishlist now after seeing your breakdown and trail run. But, I'm curious... Do you think the electronics here will be able to handle inclines and punching out of bad situations on 2nd gear?
SBG for PRESIDENT!!!!!
nahh we getting a good one now. maybe 2028
Would be nice to have a sane candidate, but isn't Matt Canadian?
It's true... I am Canadian and am therefore ineligible for presidency!

@@nepeeer i am sure this is true . however the set up i described has worked just fine in my gen 9 red cat scout for over a year .
Congratulations on 100k! Well deserved!
Thank you!
That is hands down the best looking RTR lexan body I've seen in a long time
💯
Other than those front fender flares.
For the price I think it's a fantastic option. Just put better tires, a nice set of heavier wheels and it will do absolutely fine for trailing, it needs nothing else IMO.
What a great release from FMS! Love the body, warm white headlights and simplified platform!
Congratulations on reaching 100k subscribers! 🙂
Thank you!
I definitely want one! I like that they simplified it and put a cool body on it.
1/8th point five th scale😂
Great review, this is an awesome looking truck and the fact that it’s lexan makes it even cooler.
They always shouted Toyota in the old commercials and they would jump in the air all excited
Ha! I remember those commercials!
In Australia it was and still is "Oh what a feeling!...Toyota"
This looks amazing. The last Blazer they did was my favorite looking trail truck looks wise. This almost takes its place. That's high praise. I do wish it was bigger. The larger the scale the happier i am.

Great review as always 👍
yeah, it seems like scale isn't really scale in the RC industry!
When I saw the first shots of this, I assumed it was a hardbody. They did great.
100k!!!! Congrats!!!🎉🎉🎉 and i really like that truck actually! Love Toyotas
Thanks!!
Good looking truck. I’m happy for all the different options from competitors.
This review has zero failure points.
10/10
Am I crazy for wanting the K5 chassis with the LC body? Just love those unnecessary toys😂😂. HUGE fan dude.
Nope,I agree totally. It's a toy. I'm not depending on it to get me home. For what it's worth all those things still work great on my Blazer.
Ha!
No you are not a marketing expert YOU are the Market, you are gem sir and don’t you forget it!
Thank you!
They did a great job on the truck and the simplicity of it is one of the main reasons I bought it for my son as his main trail rig. He's going to go nuts when he opens it Christmas morning!!
Awesome review man!
Yay! I'm sure he'll love it!

Cool truck, looks great! Going to make a fun trail truck! Plenty fast! 👍
Congrats on 100k! 🎉

I think it looks good the front fender opening is nearly identical to the real thing just slightly low in the rear of the opening
I do agree. I’m not a fan of too many points of failure. Options are nice, but quite often the extra features come with a cost or pain of upkeep.
Ugh. I think I need one in the fleet. I'm with you about colour. Love the lack of portals, and the stupid diff locks. They have their place but I'm not a fan.
Hat for the man? If he's rockin and 80 series he's a pimp

That front fender line 👀 congrats on 100K!
Thanks!!
Truck looks good. I think it is good for trailing. Nice shots from testing. Congrats on 100k 👍
Thank you!
this is much more lovable than the chevy ;)
You are good at convincing. I didn't like it when Turks and Jerps talked about it...but you convinced me to like it. Well done
is that a box art jrxt style body I see in that pfp?
@@ss-united-states-my-beloved Yes, you could say that. It was my newbie attempt to paint a body years ago. It's a WPL c14 - early edition.
You hands down have the best review videos. Everything down to the soundtrack is always on point. Makes me want to buy everything you teview
Thank you so much!
I really love that the headlights and lightbar have that "old" dim look to them.
I've got one coming. You've got to love this body! I agree about the simplicity being a selling point, too. Great vid, and a great release from FMS.
Thank you!
i am not being in the crawler hobby anymore, more with 1/14 hydraulic functional trucks and excavators, but this looks like worth a try after a long time ;)
Go for it!
Good choice 86ing the indicators but 2 speed vs difflocks, I would've picked difflocks.
Still, it's another RC option on the market.👍🏻
I really like this truck, not perfect but one I will definitely be buying, I’ll do exactly what you did and remove the Toyota badges and turn signals. Great review 👌🏽, I ordered this truck after watching your vid
That's so great! Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy it!
I ordered one the day they were available. One of my favorite vehicles of all time.
Enjoy it!

I'm pulling the trigger on this, awesome body mount system the rest of the few issues will get upgraded, great review thanks for sharing 👍
Enjoy!

Body looks cool..congrats on 100k dude!🎉🤙
Thank you so much 😃
The math checks out at 1:9 scale which is what most "tenth" scale trucks are.
Congrats on passing 100k well deserved sir. Great looking rc and looks to run good too. Thanks for sharing this rc with us rc lovers.
Thank you!
I’m so excited about the straight axle trail truck option. Finally 🎉
It's only good if they upgraded the steering servo.
Comedy and mystery is what makes this channel so great!
Thank you!
if its gonna have a 2 speed id like the ability to remote unlock the diffs so it dosent roll over at speed
They need to fix the grill... that one had "TOYOTA" across the center bar. The later '95/'96 models had a new grill and the Toyota logo so that the LX version could have a Lexus logo.
Great looking rig! Big fan of the Toyota LCs! 😎
Congratulations on the 100k subscribers Mr Matt and Rebecca and many more to come. God bless and keep wheeling 🙏
Thank you so much!
Nice. I gotta have it. Awesome running footage 👍🏾🔥
Enjoy!
All black. Just like my 80. Then I get one. Looks great
Its so weird they did such a good job on the 1/18 version but got the wheel wells wrong on this one. I still like it. Def looks better w/out the TOYOTA stickers yelling at you.
The blazer was a larger truck than 1:10 scale as well. It was wider and longer than most 1:10 trail trucks if I recall.
Love the running footage. ❤ 17:54. I would love to get one to match my future dream car.🤞
ohh I like this..
FMS been doing good things
The shell is amazing.
I want one. Congrats on 100k.
Congrats on 100k 🎉. It's like FMS listened to you. I really like the look of this good review
Thank you!
Your running videos are second to none!!
Thank you!
I ordered one- for the price hard to go wrong
Enjoy it!
Looks a little top heavy, overall a killer looking rig!

I love the suspension realism
At least in the running videos
congrats on the 100K!
Thank you for just unplugging the signal lights. I hate them on my cars but don't understand why people who don't like them don't just do away with them!
The same simps and gimps that go nuts when an rtr is released and then say the stock mediocre demo at best electronics are fine...
Sometimes it’s impossible to remove or disable the signal lights without losing the other lights👍
Weawy gweat weview! Perhaps this is the truck FMS should have made from the start. It would be probably be at the top of my list in the $300 range.
FMS shouldve hired you to do there marketing video
Awesome rig and great video, as always!
Thanks 👍
Thanks for pointing out the front fender. Now I can’t unsee that 😂
Sorry!
I'd love to see them come out with a kit version of this but I doubt that's in the cards.
Great review as usual!
That would be cool! Thanks for watching!

I'm like you.
I like simple things, usually in the long run they work better and cost less to repair.
The Frenchi...
That’s a great looking rig!!
Thank you!
I've been waiting for this and you did not disappoint😂😂😂😂thanks.
Glad you enjoyed!
Looks fun, can I ask what size and type of battery you would suggest? Great video!

Yes 2S and 3S capable.

I kinda like the truck, especially a licenced Toyota
Lol I said that! And it still bothers me. I'm on the fence about buying one because of the fenders on the front.
Same here. It looks like they bolt on separately so I'm hoping someone makes a 3D print file for proper looking ones.
i just came from watching your FCX Blazer review and I kinda agree with some of your negative perspective. Personally I use my fcx10 as a trail truck. I use my base camp as my actual crawler because of the less failure points.
This is definitely on my wishlist now after seeing your breakdown and trail run. But, I'm curious...
Do you think the electronics here will be able to handle inclines and punching out of bad situations on 2nd gear?
I didn’t have any trouble with that, I doubt you would either.
Is love to know if the driveshafts will be sold as spares. Looks like a good spare to have and can use on trx4 too
Ever seen the Hbr1001 I have one it has a two speed I really hope you can get one and see it
I really like this body. Do you think this truck would hold up to brushless
Looks really good.... But I'm a die hard Land Rover kinda guy 😂
I wonder how the scale looks compared to a hammer rey, for a "1/10th scale" theyre also HUGE
I guess it's time for an FMS
I’m guessing Josh has a wittle ladder on his truck
Ha!
I agree, much better. Still ain't no TRX4 Sport IMO!
