My experience in electronics for the past 60 years and keeping up with new technologies and my experience of being a victim of tampering tells me one thing....all man made programs and software can be tampered with absolutely no issues and buts. NOTHING is safe. I have faced it.

Probably. That is why all the major democracies got rid of EVMs and went to paper ballot. India is likely the only democracy that uses EVM machines. Scanners are as fast or faster than EVMs these days and they are much cheaper

There is law to be implemented by the EC where the VVPAD print to be cross verified with Voting machine. This will ensure there is no manipulation. Also voters to check the printout which is coming from VVPAD. Like this many VVPADs are caught eg. In Kerala

VVPAT should also be counted too. And it has to tally with the result obtained from the Control Unit. ECI has to come out with a mechanism to ensure and secure the confidence of the voters in free and fair election.

I'm one of representative of a political party and under gone in ECI program of FLC (first level check ). I too agree that VVPAT can respond differently to CU. Election results should be declared on the counting of VVPAT slips.

I worked as po.we used to as testing the evms,vote 20 votes to different candidates .The result was perfect.Another thing is the evm is securely sealed with all the tapes supplied and attested by both and the APO.So it's not possible to replace the evm with another as the signatures of the officers cannot be ignored.
It is like Murphy's Law. If there is possibility of tampering; the trust of voters is at stake. In such scenario, the ECI should take all necessary steps to restore that trust and goodwill.
The real issue is that the SC is 100% committed to the electronic system and not willing to entertian any doubts. So all these discussions are academic

There should be a feedback sheet that the polling officer shall use to collect the feedback from every electorate who has voted. This feedback should record the fact that "if they have seen the VVPAT printing the same symbol of the button they pressed for" and "if they saw the VVPAT actually got dropped into the ballot box". The scanned copy of this feedback sheet should be uploaded at the end of the polling day by the polling officer.

In all training classes I underwent, any electronic code can be intervened and is subject to manipulation. Hence I believe that EVMs r also subject to manipulation.
It is 100% this time major manipulation will happen as the political fight is highly charged like never before. At least Election Board can make simple change in this Election: for e.g , We have a facilty to get receipt for our withdrawals & deposit in ATM machine, same way voters should have an facility get receipt for their vote, same should put in seperate ballet box and it can be cross varified with voting machine, if any contested candidate challeges the result.

I don't favour any political party. To me, whoever does good for general public, I will be with them. With respect to EVM, I don't understand the logic behind anyone saying as follows:- If BJP wins, it is due to EVM manipulation; what if a non-BJP candidate wins using the same EVM. To understand EVMs are perfect, this example quoted is more than enough. Would anyone stop booth capturing while pointing finger at EVMs just like that. Most of the countries of the world have discarded the use of EVM'S for voting.The citizens want to go for voting by paper ballot,but the ones who are supposed to adhere to the people's choice are protecting the EVM's. Even the BJP who were against the use of EVM'S when in opposition are not showing any interest to reintroduce paper ballot.
You have worked wonderfully and so extensively, to suggest possible checks and methods to prevent poll tamering... But the truth is tampering is not so complicated, they dont have to lose sleep if someone wants to tamper poll results

I worked as po.we used to as testing the evms,vote 20 votes to different candidates .The result was perfect.Another thing is the evm is securely sealed with all the tapes supplied and attested by both and the APO.So it's not possible to replace the evm with another as the signatures of the officers cannot be ignored.

It is like Murphy's Law. If there is possibility of tampering; the trust of voters is at stake. In such scenario, the ECI should take all necessary steps to restore that trust and goodwill.
The real issue is that the SC is 100% committed to the electronic system and not willing to entertian any doubts. So all these discussions are academic

If counting VVPAT and matching with EVM can resolve the long discussed issue. My opinion is that, it should be done. There are many unemployed youth in this country. Engage them and get the counting of VVPAT machine done. They will be rewarded for their work. At the same time ECI can regain the trust of Indians.
Sir once the Result is declared there is no way you can go for a review. It has never happened and it will never happen. Plz block or stop this system before its TOO LATE. EC should not be Allowed to play Spoil Sport to Favor A Few.
2004,2009 lok sabha election fine.where you won in state fine.but when you lose EVM is manipulated.you can not change the truth.
There should be a feedback sheet that the polling officer shall use to collect the feedback from every electorate who has voted. This feedback should record the fact that "if they have seen the VVPAT printing the same symbol of the button they pressed for" and "if they saw the VVPAT actually got dropped into the ballot box". The scanned copy of this feedback sheet should be uploaded at the end of the polling day by the polling officer.

As rightly summed up by the interviewer in the end of this interview, it is a real pleasure for it's viewers as well to watch it.Though a good number of voters are suspicious about the EVMs, what is within our control is to create this kind of awareness among the voters. Why because the sanctity of our democracy as the public often think, doesn't primarily rest on either the politicians or those in power for that matter. Invariably our voters must be educated & empowered which is the only way to strengthen our democracy & safeguard it from the present political quagmires.

In all training classes I underwent, any electronic code can be intervened and is subject to manipulation. Hence I believe that EVMs r also subject to manipulation.

It is 100% this time major manipulation will happen as the political fight is highly charged like never before. Fate of billions of money are involved as different interests have invested trusting the continued support from a specific party. Counting the printed paper is the only foolproof method available at this juncture. Even though it may take time, at least the serenity of the democratic process will be assured.

Malware can be put well in advance to make the EVM behave as you want. Therefore the answer is to give copy of VVPAT to the voter to put it in the EVM box.

Such a program can give the different information when you are rebooting the system on the day of results. Such a program can be arranged in the electronic machine unit, the EVM. Feasible. At least Election Board can make simple change in this Election: for e.g , We have a facilty to get receipt for our withdrawals & deposit in ATM machine, same way voters should have an facility get receipt for their vote, same should put in seperate ballet box and it can be cross varified with voting machine, if any contested candidate challeges the result.
