- National convenor of the Bharat Jodo Abhiyan Yogendra Yadav, who is on a 1,500-km tour of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Bihar, says there is a palpable absence of any Modi wave in the Hindi belt, where the BJP had won the maximum seats in 2019. He says livelihood issues dominate conversations in a big way, as also indicated by the recent CSDS survey.
Many who voted Modi in 2014 and 2019 say they won't vote BJP this time but seem overwhelmed by the narrative of "Ayega to Modi hi". Yadav says it seems apparent that the BJP will reduce its seats tally in the Hindi belt as compared to 2019. The same performance is unlikely to be repeated. Also, he says, the current election is less presidential than the previous two Lok Sabha polls.

Around 12 years ago, he came to Bangalore to inaugurate a Rangapravesham of his grand niece and even uninvited people turned up in large numbers just to see and hear him. I got goosebumps just witnessing that love and respect. He stood on the stage and allowed everyone to shake hands with him. What a speech he gave on governance and good citizenship. Rest in peace Sir. 🙏🙏

If I may add here about Modiji’s popularity heights; it appears that the general public is feeling slightly cheated emotionally. Till now people accepted blindly every word that Modiji said/did. But not any more. There are questions being asked about the prime minister’s admin especially about women safety and the attitude of PM himself. People’s Faith in Modiji’s tall talks is fading. Frustration is setting in bcoz bjp seems to arm-twist into every one’s life. They may not want some other PM as Modi is way too strong as a leader. But they are sure any change to Modiji would be welcome though they are not sure if Modiji will bow out gracefully.
Hence the frustrations.
Even after BJPs 10 years rule at centre and 7 years rule in UP, Modi still blames the opposition for the various problems in UP. It is very strange and we have to conclude that he lost the plot and the way.

Inflation and Unemployment is totally unsustainable in India. No media ready to talk and discuss about this big problem. Today, US is fighting to bring back 2% inflation while India doesn't care about it at all. In Bihar, for few thousand govt jobs you see more than 20 lakh applications and this speaks the volume of unemployment in the northern part of india.

I feel like as much as the govt wanted to push opposition into a corner with CMs being pushed into jail, the Kejriwal's arrest has triggered something at least in Delhi and might move the people that voted both for Modi in centre and AAP in Delhi towards the opposition.

Plus advise to the interviewer Venu - as a good journalist it would be better if he sticks to writing rather than as an on camera interviewer, as his articulation & expressions are quite inadequate, stammering & stumbling along. On camera he could learn a great deal from the likes of Christian Amanpour or even his colleague Karan Thapar.

During the end of congress government i got my first job. I was able to manage my life with a salary of 25000. At the time petrol somewhere around 70 and gas price is 450 now its 102 for petrol and 900 for gas. Now even with increment and salary hike i cant able to have a decent life. 😕 not only fuel cost raised even the housing rent, food cost became insanely high
Rightly said BJP could well have turned present situation to a big ‘Hungama’. Know how? In our families there lives an uneducated & illiterate but shrewd Bua, Dadi, Nani or sister in law who despites of all draw backs is able to turn the table against all the persons with whom she is jealous of or enemy.

Price rise is a fact. But, there is no shortage of essential commodities. Youth are unable to get jobs according to their qualification. The reality is that there's shortage of manpower in agriculture. Everybody wants a cushy job. But, it is not available to all. At the same time, we need pucca roads, water supply, standard houses and hospitals. Government should focus on rural infrastructure, housing, availability of water and affordable health care for all. Government can generate employment in these areas. The government machinery is used to perpetuation of power on wrong and dangerous premises. That will not work indefinitely.
Presume since Yogendra Yadav has personally gone around to various places and has interacted with the people face to face and thus was able to get their exact views about the present trend of the Elections rather than the media going around and giving biased ideas. So having met the people directly Mr Yogendra Yadav has good idea or clues as to whom the people are going to vote this time.
