I have ZERO roofing experience. I just re-did the roof on my shed. 12×16 barn style roof. Replaced the roof deck as well. Although labor intensive, once I had the basics down it was very easy. Only three poorly placed nails. How does a contractor get away with that? Where is his pride? Integrity? This video is truly shocking. Anyways, good vid. A real eye opener. Thanks for posting.
It makes me laugh how brave people are hiding behind the keyboard, insulting people, I guess this is the only chance you get to feel tough and brave, but its ok if it makes you feel cool acting tough behind your keyboard good for you, because I would of bashed your face in otherwise, you go go tough guy.
You got to admit it made your job easier to removed the old roof lol . Who ever did that roof should be taken out to the back and thrown a beating that's a shame and it ruins the entire industry. There should be stiffer laws to allow anyone to become a roofer that has absolutely no clue on how to install a roof.
Momma llama In a Can probably had bubbles laying shingles while they ate chicken fingers and had Corey and Trevor hauling the bundles and making runs for chips and smokes. we all know bubbles gets that double vision. good thing its only Mr laheys roof.
Look now, these boys were in a hurry cause the shit storm it was a coming. The shit hawks were flying low that day, not even Conky could get Bubbles out of that fuck show! Who knows, this what happens when Haney says "I am the liquor" and puts Randy in charge and he just goes off eating God damn cheeseburgers all day. J Roc took Trevor and the other shit prick to make a music video and Ricky wasn't bout to nuck his buckles all by himself. Good thing Julien was there to put that missing bundle of tar flaps in his trunk with half the nails to save ass at the end of this fuck all!
Jesus! I am a DIYer and have done 3 patches on my shed roof over the years. First one got me 10 years with no leaks. Learned allot since then. Latest patches should outlast the shed which is going to get replaced in the near future.
I always thought you get what you pay for. Not in this case! I went with Hy-Grade roofing even though they were by far the most expensive quote I received. Worst decision I could have made. They promised to install the roof in 4-6 weeks, of course they were late. When they finally showed up without the proper equipment and they damaged my property. Sad part is that my poor wife found the damage after coming home from her frontline COVID job. Broke my heart to see how upset she was when she saw the damage! SHAME ON HY-GRADE! They are really proud of the “Quality Audit” that they do, but of course they won’t give you a copy of the audit…lol BTW - the “Quality Audit” they did at my house consisted of 2 guys coming over to pick up the leftover junk they left at my house for a month. They never even went up on the roof! Horrible customer service experience! Save your money use someone else!
At first I thought you just laid them out as a goof video until I saw they had actually been nailed in spots. This is really amazing, I honestly have never seen anything like that in my life.
GoldExpert 67274 fuck off. U were probably only taken out with your grandpa to harden your poofy soft hands up. U are the sort of guy that expects things done for next to nothing and would be a bitch of a client to work for. Good builders are worth paying good money for. Btw wat is it u do for a living
A common logical fallacy with tradesman is this: we often believe that having done _lots_ of work is equivalent to having done lots of work _correctly._ It isn't. Expertise is, unfortunately, hard to come by. Thus, most people (both customers and installers) simply don't know any better. I remember lecturing the new guys about nailing carefully and they would look at me like I was being petty. You just have to understand that most roofers are young men who are extremely energetic- and they already know everything. As for customers: only the price, the inconvenience, and the color of the shingles will seem relevant to them. For these reasons, this sort of shoddy procedure is never going to change. _Caveat emptor._ The other one that always made my blood boil is the "good roofers don't need chalk lines" mentality. Oh, and the "you aint gonna see that anyway" attitude. And let's not forget the roof tar quick-fixers. Sheesh. It's hard to find conscientious workers.
The problem can sometimes come when the contractor is great at what they do, but not as good at hiring a great crew... A lot of times the one you hire because they impressed you is NOT the one that comes out to do the job.
Chris Sidote a little late here but hay that's the internet for ya! I will agree with ya on the 3 layer tear off in summer bit and raise you a very steep 2 story cedar shake tear off infested with wasps, and hornets. While coated in moss and old rotten leaves in the valleys! That was a mess of a rotten roof!
*That* is amazing. Bright side: easy tear-off? Lesson learned: Don’t make that last payment until the work is independently inspected. Thanks for posting!
Nah, not the worst. I saw a home owner who did this same thing but started on the front, went up over the ridge and then down the back side. No underlayment at all. Been in construction for 15, going on 16 yrs now. I've done all kinds of work on the inside and outside of homes in that time. This is by far! The best roofing job I've ever seen!! Hahahahaha wtf was that!! Smh whoever laid them shingles needs to be fitted for a "special" helmet hahahahaha oh... I needed this 2day
The bundle packages say "self adhesive" meaning the little strips of mastic will stick the bottom of the shingle to the previous one BUT IT ALSO says to use nails. It's not a one or the other option. I was a roofing contractor in Calif. I heard of someone misunderstanding the installation instructions resulting in the same thing. As the video shows there is no nails on the shingles.
Thank you for this video, I live in Canada and I have to do my roof again after 18 years. The contractor was using the IKO shingles on my roof and I was told that the product has 25 years of warranty, however, the shingles on the sunny side started to fall apart already after 18 years. I have contacted IKO and they are offering me the warranty reimbursement ONLY if I use their shingles again. My question is what is the normal lifespan for the shingles in general? How good these IKO shingles in comparison to the other brands?
I hate roofing, so over 30 years ago I did my own house and I put roofing cement on every nail head and on every butt joint of every single. This took an incredible amount of time and patience. It's been over thirty years and no leaks. Doing a new 30 square barn as I post this and we are doing the same method, cementing every nail head and every butt joint with a GAF architectural shingle on this building. The shingles I used thirty years ago were made by CELOTEX out of Florida. They are no longer manufacturing shingles but GAF has a high end shingle that seems to be better because of the glue stip on the bottom of each "tab". The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of a low price has disappeared. Good luck to all these "fast" roofers stealing your money.
Just tells me that you don't understand how roofing systems work. I have roofed hundreds of roofs and they have all lasted as long or longer than the roof warranty covers. Even by using all of your extra precautions roofs still wear out. A thirty year warranty on a roof is very common.
Michael Shenefield Yeah, I don't see why the extra steps James did would be necessary. However, it may give some extra protection in a freak severe storm situation. The shingles I laid on my woodworking shed had clear plastic strips protecting strips of tar on the undersides. Aren't you supposed to pull that plastic strip off just before setting the shingle in place so that tar melts and bonds to the shingle below it on a hot sunny day? Maybe not all modern asphalt shingles have that feature? Maybe I wasn't supposed to peel those off? idk Hasn't leaked so far, so oh well. lol
CmdrGendoIkari those strips are to prevent the shingles from sticking together when theyre in the bundle. most say right on the plastic strip to not remove
charlesgrave Mine didn't say anything, or I wouldn't have removed those. Went on to read about that, and yeah, the manufacturers generally say it's not necessary to remove those. Apparently the glue bleeds through the cellophane to bond with the shingle below on the first hot days anyways, so you're just wasting time if you remove those.
i've come across this many times. It's a shame that the homeowners have to pay for 2 roofs. I can put on 14 bundles an hour, and I bet if I shingled quickly like the last installer, I might be able to put on 1 more bundle an hour. Just isn't worth it to put on so poorly. I usually only see the shingles falling out that bad when the roof is 8/12 or more. I've even seen just all the shims (back piece of the laminated shingle) fall out and leave the tooth part of the shingle.
To all homeowners... Get three bids from 3 different IN STATE companies. Ask for references/testimonials WITH contact info. Ask for insurance information/cert of insurance. Finally, ask for certification from the material supplier (if applicable) that they're a certified installer. If any of the three companies tries to give you the run around or gives excuses for not providing those documents, they're out. No excuses. Also, choose from companies that are based in your state. Why? Because when contractors go out of state they cut corners. It's not always because they'rescam artists or because they're bad people. It's just a simple fact that when you go out of state you don't have all of you're usual resources available to you. You might not have the right equipment or the right material or you may not have enough man-power. The simple way to avoid all that is to hire in-state contractors. It will save you A LOT of headache and money... When it comes to documentation, there's no excuse for not having these things. I can call my Insurance agent and have a cert emailed to whoever I want in about 5 minutes. I have a list of references (being that I do commercial work mainly) ready to go with my brochure. I have all my certifications ready to go at a moments notice. It's not that difficult but it shows their level of professionalism.
That's almost hard to believe. Anyway... I noticed your safety harness appeared to be on backwards. Is that an approved way to wear it? Have any safety inspectors ever questioned you on it? (Just curious).
WSC Woodcraft ineptitude can be found in any profession. I have worked with surgeons that should not be allowed to work on animals, let alone people. (A lifetime ago, long story) Certain construction specialties seem to have more idiots than others, though.
@@underhill918gaming5 Ah but I can, and I did. However, since you did ask... Used to work as a surgical tech and sometimes surgical assistant, and for a while worked in a pool that helped out at most of the operating rooms around town. During that time I met many surgeons, many who were brilliant individuals and actually gifted at what they do. But I also met some real idiots who, in my opinion, should not even be allowed to practice on animals, let alone human patients. 2 brothers who are general surgeons and share a practice, they also insist on assisting on each other's cases as well. However they struggle with a festering sibling rivalry that gets in the way every time they try to work together. Inevitably during the middle of a procedure one of them will disagree with the other about something, usually some trivial BS, and the fight is on. I have never seen fists get thrown, but have expected that to happen many times. Someone will get too pissed off and start to kick trash cans across the room, throw surgical instruments, and screaming and cussing each other out, till someone storms out of the room, leaving the other one to finish the procedure. Everyone's moods are shot, and tempers are short, and the staff just have to try and deal with it. Another couple of brothers, and these 2 are orthopedic surgeons. Neither one is that good of a surgeon technically, but they both have these huge egos and think that they are God's gift to medicine. The older one also thinks that he is a spinal specialist. One day he is waiting for younger brother to help assist him on a spinal case, but after about a 5 minute wait older idiot says to get case started. So we put the patient to sleep, and get everything setup to go, and idiot acts like his hair is on fire. He makes the skin incision down the spine, then starts to rip and tear and hack his way in the pt's spine. In 7 minutes he is cutting alongside of the spine and he is still charging ahead like a bull in a china closet. All of a sudden he sees that he has barely just missed a large nerve root, could have paralyzed the pt. So now he starts showing everyone and bragging how he just missed paralyzing the patient; even calls other surgeons walking by the room to come in so he can show them and brag about how he just missed screwing the pooch. I had to fight the very powerful urge to take my sterile ortho mallet (a 3# steel mallet) and smack him up side of the head. I hope that the patient was okay afterwords, idiotboy told me that he was. I have always said that if I was in the ER with both femurs fractured, and either one of these 2 idiots coming to examine me, that I would throw my pain racked body off of the gurney and drag it out of that ER before I wouold ever let either one touch me. Another orthopedic guy, and this one is no rocket scientist either. He could sell ice to eskimos, and all of his patients give him glowing reviews online, but knowing what I know I am highly suspicous. Anyways he does almost anything orthopedic, and it does not matter whether it is a run of the mill knee arthroscopy, or a total hip, ortho boy will get into the middle of the procedure, and suddenly forget how to do that procedure. His physician's assistant will have to tell him step by step how to proceed to finish the case. Every time. I would never let him work on anyone that I cared about either. Fortunately none of his cases are ever that technically demanding. There are others, but that should resolve anyone's curiosity about my cliffhanger.
If you really believe every sub does substandard work that's incredibly ignorant. Being in business we use subs and get subbed all the time. Not every small business can take the burden of a large payroll, doesn't mean the quality of work is affected. Sure there are hacks everywhere but that doesn't make everyone else a hack too.
That was probably the easiest tear off you ever did . Please tell me they got there money back from the roofers that did the 1st job . When you see people do that bad of a job and walk away screwing the homeowner it makes you want to brake there legs
Was there a building/roofing permit pulled for the original job? If so, the Building Inspector should have caught this during the mid roof nailing inspection. If not, this was probably an insurance agents brother in law type deal.
+smashingstuff09 that blow off isn't that bad as the roofer who posted the video can attest , I've seen blow offs of over 500 square before where 50 squares of material was wrapped around every penetration on the roof , I've seen an entire 300 square roof simply " slide off " the gutter edge & stand itself upright on the ground , like one big black board , all blow offs are from improper attachment & high winds .
John Sullivan I'm 17 and do WAY BETTER THAN THIS! always hit the line I smooth nails that stick out with my hammer have been working with my step dad since I was 13
Liver Phone I'm a Hispanic and by use a hammer I mean to fix up the nails that the nail gun bends or doesn't nail in properly we use HITACHI NV45AB2 guns slower but way more reliable than Bostitch RN46 nail gun a nail gun is fast doesn't mean it's always going to fire reliably my step dad was trained by workers who had done roofing for over 30 years of course I would use a nail gun we get paid by the work $20 per square
jose martinez jajajaja buena ahí. Oscar Carranza de seguro es uno de esos latinos en estados unidos que ya se creen todos unos girngos y echan mier....a a su misma gente
Lol yes because apparently to you moron, Americans can go to the moon, build the biggest navy on earth have the biggest economy and set the standard for engineering etc....... yet can't nail down a roof? I think you have it backwards speedy Gonzalez, the illegal immigrants you mentioned aren't even educated. See those white men cleaning up the trash work illegal uneducated immigrants do? Yeah that means it's NOW done right, and the home owner can sleep better knowing there's a roof over his head. When illegals go back they can bring their cheap unwanted labor with them. Enjoy the next 4-8 years hahahahaha
gotta put them nails in the proper place. one of the first things I inspect when I walk the roofs. being a roof tech for 23 yrs. can honestly say. I've never seen one like this. even if you work as a production roofer, you still make sure those nails are in the proper place. piece rate, verses the hr.
It's in Canada, most builders are white and there are no illegal immigrants doing those jobs. Without a wall. All you need to do is go after employers who hire illegally.
Hes probably playing off the dumbass thread above where the guy alluded to it being done by whatever derogatory term he used, so now hes getting back at white people. But has no idea a white person said that, so now he also looks like a dumbass.
Wellllllll as an evolved human with a triple digit IQ, personally I don't see race I see skin pigment, but everyone else around me sees race, so that I have to deal with. On the other side, America is the most diverse country on the planet. And with diversity comes factions, where people dont get along with others beliefs. That being said, thats why you always hear racial shit. Yea, its annoying, and I figured right before Obama and Trump things were racially OK. Apparently not.
I saw new way of doing tile roof without the use of parallel wood battens. They glue the tiles direcly to roof plywood over the felts. They nail only the bottom row and top row tiles. Minimal nail penetration into the roof plywood.
my house was roofed just like that on quarter inch plywood..I had to remove everything and resheet it..I literally pulled all the roof off together..and the plywood had been stapled down I don't know how long it was like that before I fixed it
well now that's probably one of the easiest tear offs ive ever seen,"GUYS PUT THE RIPPERS AWAY!, I GOT THIS " (throws entire roof in one throw down to the dumpster)
Couldn't help but notice at the very end of video but the caps look extremely high off the last course line on both sides of the roof.. Many amateur roofers do this to save time and money instead of buying the extra materials and taking the time to adjust measurements when installing.. never raise shingle courses because you lose the headlap of the shingles underneath..
I'm having a new roof put on as I type this because the old owners of my house tried tarring the leaks. Which are apparently all over the house 😒 I've had shingles flying off into my yard for years, turns out the old owners just threw a bunch down and didn't even connect them to the roof
thank you for being a professional. I was an inspector for a bit and I switched careers because I didn't want to fall thirty feet to my coffin because some ahat didn't know what he was doing or was in a rush.
I had my home devastated during a roof replacement, it has been 4 years seven months and the company has avoided paying my insurance and the company that cleaned up the damage. I added a link to my channel so you can see the damage. Can you help?
I always say consistentsy takes a lil bit more time but that little time save a lot on the long run. I always check the mailing of who ever I'm working with. Tho they don't like it, I make sure they nail right.
I have been in home building for over 25 years and the Corps of Engineers before that for 10 years. I worked for a very large roofing company and was VP of their Carpentry Division (framing, xtrim, interior trim, etc...). I thought I had seen everything. Some of the issues I've seen would make your head spin, but that IS the worst roofing job I've ever seen. Those are laminated architectural shingles (look like GAF or OC) that the owner paid a lot of money for. I'm not a proponent for suing companies, but I hope they did. High nailing will get you every time. Do you know the final outcome?
The nails are high, but the installers were probably higher.
W
thetruthrover that's the same thing I was thinking.
Lol
So they are Nailing High
Not people High on crank, pcp or snorting a butt ton of coke
At least you don't have to work very hard to get the old shingles off.
Hey look, its half full
my thought exactly
Still have to pay for the disposal ;)
knupder my thought exactly!
tren van not if you take it off yourself and haul it to the dump yourself
Probably one of the “fastest roofer” guys
Haha like that zach guy
Yeah you meant the world’s most rushes person in the world.
Nice job !!!!
BRO YOU SEEN THAT TOO?😂
😂😂

I tore off a roof one time just by rolling it from one side to the other. They were nailed the same way. Easiest tear off ever!!!
ross vandenberg it's so satisfying when multiple shingles stick together and you can just peel it off, easier cleanup too
Same for me. A 1 story motel. Rolled it like a carpet end to end and dropped it in the dumpster! haha
The best part about this job is easy stripping for the next job.
It makes me laugh how brave people are hiding behind the keyboard, insulting people, I guess this is the only chance you get to feel tough and brave, but its ok if it makes you feel cool acting tough behind your keyboard good for you, because I would of bashed your face in otherwise, you go go tough guy.
you're on another lvel of cringe if you still use mother jokes...
You got to admit it made your job easier to removed the old roof

Job 'n knock
James Friedman agreed dude i bet ken coker did this roof he takes it in the ass
Homeowner probably went with the cheapest bid. Pay once or pay twice.
More expensive doesn't mean a better job. There are good workers that don't charge an arm and a leg.
FLBiker surprise the other roofer didn't fall off the roof bcse those shingles weren't attached.
The bitter taste of poor quality lasts longer than the sweetness of a low price.
Just make sure theyre not foreign
FLBiker I like that..
those are the ones that they claim to be roofers just to get a quick dollar
Ah yes, that old scheme.
Louis Gonzalez soooo piece workers?
I do roofing for a living and if our roofs came out like that my whole crew will be fired on spot
Then hope you make sure hire a better crew next time, right?
and thats why most roofing employers have a hard time keeping a crew together. would rather fire then teach.
Ricky and Julian obviously did this job.
Momma llama In a Can probably had bubbles laying shingles while they ate chicken fingers and had Corey and Trevor hauling the bundles and making runs for chips and smokes. we all know bubbles gets that double vision.
good thing its only Mr laheys roof.
Donz Milky hell no, corey and trevor did the roof for sure, you know because its fucked
I was thinking of TPB when the dude kept saying, "Elvis and the boys" at the end, then I scrolled down to see this haha
I came here from the ash knife video too, it's strange that this is the next recommended lol
Look now, these boys were in a hurry cause the shit storm it was a coming. The shit hawks were flying low that day, not even Conky could get Bubbles out of that fuck show! Good thing Julien was there to put that missing bundle of tar flaps in his trunk with half the nails to save ass at the end of this fuck all!
This roof is a metaphor for my life.
All fucked up
HOTSAUCE Precisely.
+Incredibly Creative Name As in "doesn't get nailed"?
Xezlec Well the roof did get nailed quite a lot so your sad attempt at an insult is invalid.
+Incredibly Creative Name it may have been nailed..but it was nailed horribly wrong.
Wow, a fart from a passing bird could take that roof off! LOL
Hahaha
Jesus! I am a DIYer and have done 3 patches on my shed roof over the years. First one got me 10 years with no leaks. Learned allot since then. Latest patches should outlast the shed which is going to get replaced in the near future.

That's when you sue for every penny that LLC has.
At first I thought you just laid them out as a goof video until I saw they had actually been nailed in spots. This is really amazing, I honestly have never seen anything like that in my life.
How did nobody inspect this?
Wow that was the worst roofing job!! Imagine paying like $7,000 for that! 😮
Mr Guzman their architectural how the fuck you get lines likethat?@!!!
GoldExpert 67274 $500-$1000 my ass.
Dagz 5000$ would be for a larger house than the one shown in the video it would be about 1000 not 500 tho
Abdoo Gofoo another cheap fucker
The way he just pulled that roofing off......mmmmm that was satisfying :D
Terrix if it were that easy all the time
Still have all that felt and nails lol
Terrix like a scab
Indeed it was...
unless you're the owner...
Ooooohhh yes just the sound of that tearing brings ASMR straight to my ears.

00:55 Holy Hell! I almost spit out my drink when you pulled on that!
Wow!
missing every single shingle takes serious skill!!
did the owner piss the roofer off lol
probably
there is no way a roofer could be that incompetent unless he did it on purpose.
I think that is, by far, the best roofing job I've ever seen...just 1 good gust of wind and the whole thing goes over to the neighbors yard
WTF??? THAT CANT BE REAL!! THAT JUST CANT BE...
Joey R i
I was part of the original roofing crew for this job. We spent all day and I mean all day at a 24hr nudie strip club
Sean Henry gee....nothing gets by you...
Wow big difference fam good looking out for home owner must be happy keep up the good work.
Hot Day + cold beer + killer weed = THIS ROOF ! Ye Ha
I smoke dabs everyday day befor work and on lunch and every9ne one of my nails hit thee line
Thsts a GREAT shingle job! Look how little time and effort it is taking for you to tear that out.
sad, but true. there isn't anything else in life worse than a three layer tear off in the middle of summer.
Chris Sidote Not true, a three layer tear off in the middle of summer with no tar paper-felt paper. lol
Could you imagine your whole roof coming off in one big sheet? That’s crazy!!
Hey brother, I'm a contractor from Boston Massachusetts... You did a BEAUTIFUL JOB!! YOUR GUYS ALSO!! PROPS...
*That* is amazing. Bright side: easy tear-off? Lesson learned: Don’t make that last payment until the work is independently inspected. Thanks for posting!
Customer: “wow you’ll do this $1000 cheaper then every other estimate I got”
Roofer:
Looks like they let a new guy run loose with a hammer
if I ever did a job that bad I would never roof again!😞
Drunk roofing confirmed! I thought it was just a myth! Good points!
Was not a Real roofer from the get go. Home owner got the shaft. Thanks for the video man
Nah, not the worst. I saw a home owner who did this same thing but started on the front, went up over the ridge and then down the back side. No underlayment at all.
First heavy wind storm and the entire back was in the yard. I think three or four stayed attached to the flue.
Not attempting to be ignorant, but anyone who has never lived in this style house should do some research first.
Wow. That is literally a chickenshit job
it wasn't his fault, he was chasing the dragon. the gun miss fired, the helper called in sick, it was windy out that day. only does cash jobs
Rich Lagace LOL

It's not just banging shingles on there other factors involved like calculating the proper ventilation peak an fascia proper flashing ?

The shingles I used thirty years ago were made by CELOTEX out of Florida. They are no longer manufacturing shingles but GAF has a high end shingle that seems to be better because of the glue stip on the bottom of each "tab". The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of a low price has disappeared. Good luck to all these "fast" roofers stealing your money.
Good luck with that.
I've even seen just all the shims (back piece of the laminated shingle) fall out and leave the tooth part of the shingle.
at least you got a easy tear off lol, id love to do a 5 minute tear off haha
atvrider1 some of those old staple jobs strip like that....I love running across them...lol...
and in whole pieces
atvrider1 roof on my house has minimum 3 layers of shingles. Possible up to 5. Not included is wood shakes
Wow, I have no words that could truly express what I just saw.
fuckin easiest tear off ever boys
Maybe they did it for an easier tear off! lol
maybe they just want to fuck with the owner. HAHAHA!
Lol
"Self tear-off" material. It's hands free!
😂😂😂😂 soo funny
Love this video. Always about exposing the frauds in this industry.
That's almost hard to believe. Anyway... I noticed your safety harness appeared to be on backwards. Is that an approved way to wear it? Have any safety inspectors ever questioned you on it? (Just curious).
Good job on the install of the shingles only thing I prefer ridge vent instead of flat I think it looks better and Vents better also
I resent the implication that subcontractors are all inept. That same thing could be said about general contractors and roofing contractors.
WSC Woodcraft ineptitude can be found in any profession. I have worked with surgeons that should not be allowed to work on animals, let alone people. (A lifetime ago, long story) Certain construction specialties seem to have more idiots than others, though.
@@bigk4755 please tell the story. Can't give us cliffhangers like that
@@underhill918gaming5 Ah but I can, and I did.
Shingles are supposed to be nailed down
If you really believe every sub does substandard work that's incredibly ignorant. Being in business we use subs and get subbed all the time. Not every small business can take the burden of a large payroll, doesn't mean the quality of work is affected. Sure there are hacks everywhere but that doesn't make everyone else a hack too.
yeah it was a jack-leg comment. these youtube hacks think they can just get a camera and make a good video. lol
5 seconds in and i'm no roof expert but I know a 5 year olds drawing when I see one.
arnt u suppose 2 nail in the like glue strip? the middle of the shingle where the tar glue strip runs?
That was probably the easiest tear off you ever did . Please tell me they got there money back from the roofers that did the 1st job . When you see people do that bad of a job and walk away screwing the homeowner it makes you want to brake there legs
You're missing a top row of shingles at the ridge homie, and your ridge is lopsided as fuck
looks good to me
it's just a prank bro
Imagine a storm coming through and the shingles slide off the roof in one piece in the front lawn.
So whats the laws on this in the US, do you get a refund from the guy you contracted to do it or is this a court issue?
it looks like children shingled this roof
Kristopher Hasenbuhler hey I'm only 12 I help my dad roof I do better than they
handicap kids!
you should of hired the Mexican
Ryu Nakara and then beat him severly when he showed up
Steven Mudpit then how is he going to roof the house. I'm sure your lazy ass won't do it.
that's why you don't pick up ppl in home Depot parking lots
nah some white guy did this job lmao
Jeffrey Nevrotski its in canada
Just because they're in Canada, doesn't mean there weren't any illegal Americans in a home Depot parking lot.
Roderick Treadaway lol
Jeffrey Nevrotski this be in canada
I’m glad Ricky’s got his shit together, hope he’s kept in touch with bubbles
Was there a building/roofing permit pulled for the original job? If so, the Building Inspector should have caught this during the mid roof nailing inspection. If not, this was probably an insurance agents brother in law type deal.
Jeaus fuck, I've never seen anything like that.
+smashingstuff09 that blow off isn't that bad as the roofer who posted the video can attest , I've seen blow offs of over 500 square before where 50 squares of material was wrapped around every penetration on the roof , I've seen an entire 300 square roof simply " slide off " the gutter edge & stand itself upright on the ground , like one big black board , all blow offs are from improper attachment & high winds .
that is why you higher me, a contractor with insurance & certifications
hire, but understood what you meant
being licensed and insured doesn't mean anything. it just says you've paid the state money
yeah.make sure you get somebody that really know. thanks
I suspect alcohol was the deciding factor here.
Just had my roof replaced and you best believe I was up there checking before they even drove off
Did the homeowner take any legal action against the previous contractor that did this?
This is why we need Mexicans...
And trained skilled people (not trying to start a shitstorm)
maybe a blind man did it?
then why the fuck would he be working in a trade then?
this is what happens when Mexicans start coming back to their country and americans try to make their work by themselves hahahaha
Rodrigo Martinez mexicans probably roofed it!
Oscar Carranza I'm so offended with your joke
jose martinez jajajaja buena ahí.
Certain Americans!!!
gotta put them nails in the proper place. one of the first things I inspect when I walk the roofs. being a roof tech for 23 yrs. can honestly say. I've never seen one like this. even if you work as a production roofer, you still make sure those nails are in the proper place. piece rate, verses the hr.
James Jarvis what about the wet ceilings from the roofs
Bet the tear off crew was thankful the shingles came off easy😅🤣
You can tell a white guy did that job!
Rudy Villa it's not about race, it's about stupidity, and it comes in all colors and sizes.
But has no idea a white person said that, so now he also looks like a dumbass.
what is it with race with you Americans?
Wellllllll as an evolved human with a triple digit IQ, personally I don't see race I see skin pigment, but everyone else around me sees race, so that I have to deal with.
On the other side, America is the most diverse country on the planet. And with diversity comes factions, where people dont get along with others beliefs. That being said, thats why you always hear racial shit.
Yea, its annoying, and I figured right before Obama and Trump things were racially OK. Apparently not.
On the bright side .. it made it really easy for you to remove the old roof.
Was this a flip from one of those home shows? 😂
Did you have the remove the nails also?
no its better to leave them otherwise you have thousands of holes in your roof
Where is grey hoodie's fall pro?
I saw new way of doing tile roof without the use of parallel wood battens. They glue the tiles direcly to roof plywood over the felts. They nail only the bottom row and top row tiles. Minimal nail penetration into the roof plywood.
Did u redo the ridge? Cause it's not right also
my house was roofed just like that on quarter inch plywood..I had to remove everything and resheet it..I literally pulled all the roof off together..and the plywood had been stapled down I don't know how long it was like that before I fixed it
How did this pass inspection?
well now that's probably one of the easiest tear offs ive ever seen,"GUYS PUT THE RIPPERS AWAY!, I GOT THIS " (throws entire roof in one throw down to the dumpster)
Glad you are wearing fall protection I would be anxious just standing on those shingles
I had my home devastated during a roof replacement, it has been 4 years seven months and the company has avoided paying my insurance and the company that cleaned up the damage. I added a link to my channel so you can see the damage. Can you help?
“I know a guy who can do it cheaper.” Classic.
I always say consistentsy takes a lil bit more time but that little time save a lot on the long run. I always check the mailing of who ever I'm working with. Tho they don't like it, I make sure they nail right.
Bruh, first second in & I was already blown away lmao
What do you do about the tar paper and all those nails.
One question. Does it leak?
Got to be the best shingling I've ever seen.....👀😬🤔🤦🏻♂️😂😂😂🤷🏻♂️
WHAT COMPANY IS RESPONSIBLE
Air pressure too high causes this a lot also......can't go straight from framing work and 120 psi straight to roofing
Why doesn’t anyone use felt installed via flame in US...
