Wow, I can't imagine handling a watch that expensive. I'd probably be a nervous wreck until I was done and it was back with the AD. It is spectacular, though. The Lange Datograph is one of my favorite watches at the holy trinity level, that and the VC Overseas.
When the view switched to the display case back, I had a religious experience. A true thing of beauty, I would expect even people who have no interest in watches would agree.
In person they are unreal. Imo they do it the best. Pricey though... :^/ to comfortably afford one id say you need to be make 100k+/month. Def doable but lot of money for something so fragile too....
I'm very interested in watches. I have to disagree. You are mistaken human ingenuity and workmanship as something divine and other worldly. But if you are talking about creating intricate creatures that serves no ultimate purpose, then yes, we might just had a glimpse into how God works.
Jenni, your grasp of the technical details of watch complications and your ability to explain them clearly to a beginner is much appreciated. Plus, I love the way you say A. Lange & Sohne - so musical. Great video and a treat for Leap Day.
Architecture of that movement is just simply stupendous ! The whole watch is a masterpiece to be studied, revered, admired and marveled at ! Great video !

Jonathan Saraco my girlfriend and I were at an AD and we ended up ring shopping as well, and the saleswoman put a ring on her and we asked how much it was: “$700,000” nearly had a heart attack
I was sat down in an Omega boutique recently and fumbled a watch, didn't drop it, and my heart skipped a beat. The Omega manager told me that they once had a customer who dropped a watch onto a marble floor.
rhannay39 funny story. My family and I popped into an AD near me that I’ve spent some money with.. maybe 10k. My son was running around and tripped and bumped his head. Well he started crying, and when he was younger tended to puke when he cried... and he projectile vomited all over their day-date and datejust case and surrounding carpet. They were kind and accommodating.
@@rhannay39 I joined a Swiss watch company when I was 24. One Friday afternoon, the big boss showed me a new model and I told him how much I liked it. He passed it to me and said "Wear it for this weekend!". I did, went clubbing with my friends in the worst parts of town, got totally wasted... the full monty. Monday I gave it back and he said, it's going on sale next week for $ 125'000. I would probably have worked some time for free, if I would have lost it. LOL
I heard a story of a guy who had a Rolex stolen from his locker at a country club - but not the ALS Datograph next to it which was worth ten times as much, because most people don't recognize the value of the ALS from the dial. So yes, as a value investment AND as an horological masterpiece, I would consider it a bargain.
A €300.000 BARGAIN watch. Way beyond my budget. Am happy w/ my affordable G-Shock. I swim w/ this G-Shock. But, have to say that this A Lange & Sohne looks awesome.
Another flawless video from Jenni Elle. A truly hands on experience with each exceptional timepiece. Looking forward to her next vids. This channel will grow to be a top watch review channel. 👍🏻💪🏻
Just watched Tim Mosso's interview with Phillipe Dufour, his first collection watch was an ALS Datograph, not bad choice to start for a legendary watchmaker lol. And he also mentions Nomos!
This is, absolutely beautiful! I've had an opportunity to view some of their watches, and the amount of work that goes in each and everyone of its pieces is just mind blowing. I would rather wear the watch with its movement as its face. Thank you, Jenni for bringing to us yet another quality content!
The A Lange & Sohne Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon is a beautiful and well-made watch. I like the fact that they put the tourbillon in the back of the watch. The tourbillon in the dial makes the watch look ugly.
Beautiful, Elegant, Awesome Engineering - A True Piece of Art! I Love this Time Piece! Thank You For an Outstanding Video! I’m in awe of the talent, attention to detail, and the ability to keep very accurate time. This would be an awesome piece to pass on to Generation after Generation!
Please don't take this the wrong way, just saying as a subscriber, your voice is so cute especially your accent and tone. It's very pleasant to the ear to just listen to your posts as sort of like a radio broadcast. Thank you and keep up your good content.
@@DM-rc4yu ok, give me some examples of things that combine small components, precision, precious metals and it is hand made, I am curious to know, oh I almost forget, no electronics.
No wonder that the brand is an absolute grail! If I ever win at the lottery... I mean, a big win... this would be my first buy... no question about it!
I’ll wait until the Chinese make one. I’ll get it for a few hundred . Seriously , it is a outstanding watch. I have always loved this brand and I think this is the best yet.
Love your videos! Just have to let people know, the earth does not take 4 years and a day to travel around the sun. It takes one year and somewhere around a quarter of a day. After 4 years, we add these quarters of a day together into one extra day on the calendar. This is where we get out “leap year”.
This a dream for Elle? No way... you must be joking... You can do it Elle. Sooner than most of us. Thanks and great video once again. Can't wait for part 2 of your German watches introduction to the world. Have a nice weekend.
I'd take a Rolex President in full yellow gold and a Ferrari instead. That's just me though. The macro shots of the movement are great. Crazy, complex movement. Wow.
I have a 'normal' Lange One. If I could have any incremental dream watch it would be a Zeitwerk in white gold (or platinum) - this is nice but too busy for my liking. The ultimate would be the Zeitwerk minute repeater is we are talking 'double bargain' money. I also have a soft spot for the Lange One 'luminous'. Thanks for the great video Jenni.
It's a brand that is not likely to increase your chances of getting mugged because they are so discrete that most street level criminals have never heard of them.. Not like a Rolex, Breitling Omega etc..
Oh my, WOW!!!! That wrist art is just incredible! My jaw still hangs open with a slight drool running down the side of my mouth. The dial at a certain angle looks a tinge blue or my eyes have deceived me. I just spoke to my uncle (Lucifer) ;). he said if I sell ky soul ten times over he would consider granting me such an incredible piece of art!!! Seriously though, how nervous were you of handling this beauty? I am to retire next year (2021) at this time, I am so looking forward to treating myself to A. Lange & Sohne timepiece. The Saxonia line or the Odysseus. You have made my day! Thank You for such a Wonderful Treat!
Beautiful movement and dial! Call me nationalist, patriot or arrogant, but as a Swiss, only two foreign brands would touch my wrist: Lange & Söhne or a GS. The love to detail and precision on Langes is absolutely fantastic.
My gawwwwd! That movement is incredible. I had to pause the vid several times just to stare in complete amazement! Beautiful watch, almost a pretty as the commentator.
This doesn't get any better than this. Lange is the peak of horology. Why some people think AP is better when all it does it redo Genta's RO over and over again i will never understand.
Hoooly crap, just look at that movement at 1:58. Unbelievable. For anyone that questions the value or cost, this is a work of art. It's notoriously difficult to value art. Is a Monet worth $60M? You tell me. But wow that is a beautiful piece of mechanical artwork either way!
I'd gladly "settle" for an original Flyback in platinum for an exit watch. But if I'm going to spend FU money I'd definitely consider the non-tourbillion perpetual in white gold with that mesmerizing grey dial for well under 100k EUR.
Bargain and A. Lange & Söhne are words not usually found in the same sentence.
I was about to say the same thing haha
AR B the thing is if the same watch have the letter PP on it, will probably cost twice as much?
Raymond Lee yeah but Patek you can always sell for more so Patek is the bargain . If we talk about money.

That open case back is like a window into mechanical heaven.
heaven has no mechanics, only lawyers
the only watch i own. one of many fruits of 20 years of hard work
The tourbillon on the back is such a cool stealth power move.
I could stare at the face and the movement for hours with a loupe. An incredible example of human ingenuity and art.
This is as close as I will ever get to this timepiece. Thank you! 🤩👍👏
That reflection in the subdial hands of the chronograph hand is immense! What an insane piece.
Architecture of that movement is just simply stupendous ! The whole watch is a masterpiece to be studied, revered, admired and marveled at !

As soon as someone starts a statement with "Please don't take this the wrong way", you know something creepy is about to follow...
This is what makes whatches unique, this is the reason people like to spend thousands on watches, they are art, unique pieces of engineering.
This is an impressive piece of engineering only if you don't know anything.
