Something ive found out a long while ago but all the "how to fight the kraken" guides never mention... you can actually completely avoid the krakens wrap ability before it happens. If theres an arm roaring at you but isnt doing the wind effects when its about to suck somebody up, its about to wrap you instead. If you shoot the roaring arm before it goes below the water, itll cancel the wrap it was about to do.
Here's one many don't know: the storms follow a specific pattern determined by the date and time. So if you follow the storm around for an in-game month, you can map and predict where the storm will be at any moment(also don't do that, someone already did it and has made a weather report, just google it). And, there's a solar eclipse. From my 4000 hours in the game, I have only seen it twice. I don't know if that happens every in game month like the storm mechanics, but for me it happened on the morning of the 19th. I always tell myself to check it next 19th, but until now I have always forgotten.

The area of Shroud directly to the south of the Sea of Thieves contains Old Sailor's Isle and the passage between the two areas, but we've had two larger than average sea monsters come from there - the giant kraken one of the Pirate Lord's journals speaks of seeing within the fog, and the original Hungering One. There's plenty of possibility for the Shroud to perhaps move out a bit as it seems to be capable of doing, and merge a whole region of more open waters for such creatures. Oh you wanted tips? Uh, here: Island-based volcanoes build up a charge over time towards an eruption, which raises over time. You can see the progress towards eruptions by how much the crystals on the sides of the island are lit up. This doesn't work at long distances or volcanoes at sea because those crystals always appear in the same state.

This is a tip basically all players except for new ones know, so if you just got the game, make sure that when a skeleton is blocking with its sword, jump and hit its head. It can’t block that attack and you won’t get thrown back.

I've recently learned that holding the plank out before you nail it in makes your hammering alot quieter. Also if you go barefooted it makes your footsteps alot quieter. Things I didnt realize but make sense I suppose.

I was expecting this video to be full of well known things in the game, like wanda’s workshop, that salty played a part in cursed sails, etc. but I genuinely didn’t know 75% of what was in this video! Thanks for another great vid falcore!
Just realized the maiden voyage is also really similar to the E3 footage too. If you play through the journals and getting the stash you visit a campfire, an impaled skeleton, go through a few caves, see a painting at the top, and then head to the beach to set sail, where you also straight up see the kraken
I never really thought about the storm intensifying depending on the region. Now that I think about it the holes I've gotten in The Wilds are a bit bigger than when I've braved them in Plenty of Shores.
I dont have a problem with my loot getting stoked. What I dont understand is when other players jump on my ship kill me amd leave. Cause I have gone back and all my items are still there.
Theres so many carebears in this game its just stupid. Me and my 3 friends played. Only me and 1 of them do pvp games often, like we played alot of ESO pvp etc. The other 2 doesn't play as much pvp or any at all but they're hyped to shoot some ships down. We meet galleons all the time that just flee the second they see us. One even said "we don't have any loot." Like okey, so wtf are u afraid of then? Getting supplies is easy, just travel to any island and scavenge it, always a storage crate and bunch of cannon balls, food and wood. One time i was really impressed, was when we put up a pvp flag. And a guy on a sloop (solo) who could aim really good went and fought us. Gave up a good fight until we got him. But thats 1 out of like 50+ encounters. And every other fight we have to chase them. One sloop with Athenas flag even called us "cringe" for chasing them and killing them XD. Think they were more pissed than they managed to make us. We were happy we finally got them. Because a sloop can easily avoid a galleon without much effort. But 9/10 players are just afraid and scared lil carebears that don't wanna put up a fight. And refuse to learn how to pvp. Instead they bitch about it.

I’ve been playing this game since megaladons came out, and I’d always play with my big brother. After growing up and leaving the house, our duo sloop crew was split up. I played again for the first time in a long time the other day, and when at the North Star Seapost, I followed a prompt to sit on the dock. As the sun set on the horizon, the game played the most angelic, nostalgic, and heartbreaking song that I’d never heard before or experienced in the whole game. I cried a little after that. Goes to show there’s always something new to experience here
YES. But then again this would make ppl say "why not sail outside the sea of thieves since we have gone past the shroud. So I sadly say, it's better that we are trapped
Did you know that the fiery rocks spewn from volcanoes are not random? A few rocks from each eruption are coded to land close to nearby players and ships, which is why you have so many near misses.
Pretty sure they have hard-coded locations. I once found a sweet spot close to an erupting volcano where it would always miss every shot, within inches of hitting the ship.
This isn't a secret, in fact it should probably be more well known then it is but in the shadows under the arch of Wanderer's Refuge there is a cave, it's entrance dark and easily missed that a certain skeletal parrot spent some time in. For those now departed Wanderer's Refuge runs it was a great hiding spot for your loot while you did the run under that cursed crimson flag. Something else interesting to note is that while Briggsy never noted the order, while trying to open one of the vaults for the keys to the Compass Vault on the Shores of Gold, she did note the locations of the needed symbols in her journal map of the island, which you should have if you're there.
@Captain Falcore This is just a convenient tip, it saves a few seconds, but if when digging up some treasure with your shovel, as soon as the shovel head comes out of the ground (causing the loot to rise in the ground) you can quickly put it away and take it out again. It saves you the trouble of having to wait to use it to dig again. (i.e. dig, put shovel away, take it out again, dig)
5:20 Does anyone else sort of prefer the old model of the game, particularly I’m looking at cannon cove here, where everything is slightly less saturated and more surreal and intense..
Well, that was while it was worked on, and if they made it look like that for the entire sea, it would need stronger machines/cause lag etc or such. They had to lower graphics to make it work more smoothly.
you forgot to mention that when fighting the kraken if you shoot the shreeking tentacle (with a cannonball) that pops up right next to your ship it will stop it from wrapping around your ship, there, your welcome.
I dont know why this took me so long to know, but: The Ritualskull can be used for something else than selling. You can go to the Fort of the Damned and if you have a Soulflame of every colour, you can start the fort
Did you know that in the tall tales there are vaults you need to open using totems? Well you probably knew that but did you know that there are unopenable ones in the game and they outnumber the openable ones? There is one on mermaids hideaway, another on krakens fall and 2 others in the devil's roar that Falcore has mentioned in previous videos that require totems to open that do not yet exist.
The ones at Kraken’s Fall and Mermaid’s Hideaway can already be opened. I know because I’ve been in both vaults. The ones in the Roar though, that’s a different story.

Love the video! For the record though, the Golden Hind was not restored, it rotted away on display. There are now 3 replicas of the ship, one of which is a sailing museum, and actually travels the world.
Anyone else noticed the "heart" at 6:10 does only hit half of the forts but a lot of other Islands/outposts... Kinda lets me doubt if it's true. Edit: Skull Keep ruins the horizontal heart (as shown in this video) Hidden Spring Keep ruins the vertical heart Both hearts would be very unshaped
We need an addition to the map, ice zone. North part of the map would have snow islands and debris would have ice burgs that would break the boat if ran into
A ton of people prob know this but I only found out recently and would be helpful to fellow up-and-coming soul emissary enthusiasts, gold skeletons not only slow down to a crawl in water, but lose a ton of their armor making them one shots with the rifle, this also can happen if you take a bucket of water and splash them
The replica of the Golden Hind visited the little coastal town that i grew up in when i was a child and it blew my mind. I was totally obsessed with it at the time. I really remember the visual impact the ship had on me.

There’s one island in the North that’s really small and has somewhat of a curvature to it. It’s more of a small shore, but in the direction of the curve in the island, there’s a huge shipwreck hidden beneath the surface of the water. Haven’t found any loot there, but it’s definitely cool looking
Falcore I may be wrong about this, but I believe that all the areas in the sea of thieves are coming together to look like a crab. the orginal 3 areas are the body, devils roar is the right leg, and shores of gold is the right claw. if this is true this could mean there are two mores areas to open up at the left side of the map. someone pls look into this.
Acctualy the Moltan Sands Fortress (Devils Roar Fort) is not new it just has appeared on the map a few updates ago but it has been existing quite a while.
also with they maiden voyage if you go into a pond that is next to the ship on the island (it's up on the island, not the one where you spawn next to) there is a key in the pond and if you use the key on a little hatch in the shipwreck of the ship you can go into a little safe house and get 20k gold and some dubloons also the key is really hidden in there
The thing about the forts is that Fotd used To be old boot Fort. It could be active and everything and it was frankly my favourite Fort. Meaning before fotd became a thing, old boot Fort was just there to mess everything up.
Wouldn't it be fking cool if the maiden voyage took you straight into adventure mode ? Like, Old Sails Isle could have had few alternate locations, all end up leading you to whatever outpost and after the camera zooms out, it'll go back to your pirate and just like that, you start your adventure

On the maiden voyage there is a key to the vault in the little water puddle at the top once you get the key go to the bottom deck of the ship wreck and open the hatch there you will find heaps of gold and the blue coins can’t remember how to spell it just little tip for new players NOTE: You can only do this once
In the haunted shores update if you shoot the meg once with a pistol and nothing after that, it won’t attack you, it’ll just circle around your ship until you go close to an island

Pretty sure they have hard-coded locations. I once found a sweet spot close to an erupting volcano where it would always miss every shot, within inches of hitting the ship.
This isn't a secret, in fact it should probably be more well known then it is but in the shadows under the arch of Wanderer's Refuge there is a cave, it's entrance dark and easily missed that a certain skeletal parrot spent some time in. For those now departed Wanderer's Refuge runs it was a great hiding spot for your loot while you did the run under that cursed crimson flag. Something else interesting to note is that while Briggsy never noted the order, while trying to open one of the vaults for the keys to the Compass Vault on the Shores of Gold, she did note the locations of the needed symbols in her journal map of the island, which you should have if you're there.
@Captain Falcore This is just a convenient tip, it saves a few seconds, but if when digging up some treasure with your shovel, as soon as the shovel head comes out of the ground (causing the loot to rise in the ground) you can quickly put it away and take it out again. It saves you the trouble of having to wait to use it to dig again. (i.e. dig, put shovel away, take it out again, dig)

I actually stumbled on the cargo run fact recently. Think it was while I was looking through the wiki for names for a D&D character
You can see how many of each emissary there is on the map by counting the miniature ships on the tables where you vote to raise the flag.
5:20 Does anyone else sort of prefer the old model of the game, particularly I’m looking at cannon cove here, where everything is slightly less saturated and more surreal and intense..
Well, that was while it was worked on, and if they made it look like that for the entire sea, it would need stronger machines/cause lag etc or such. They had to lower graphics to make it work more smoothly.
Fun fact, you can lunge outta the kraken with sword dash
you forgot to mention that when fighting the kraken if you shoot the shreeking tentacle (with a cannonball) that pops up right next to your ship it will stop it from wrapping around your ship, there, your welcome.
I have a mechanic one. If you sword dash jump off a very high area onto water and then swim up you get enough air to land on a brig or a sloops deck

I dont know why this took me so long to know, but: The Ritualskull can be used for something else than selling. You can go to the Fort of the Damned and if you have a Soulflame of every colour, you can start the fort
Did you know that in the tall tales there are vaults you need to open using totems? Well you probably knew that but did you know that there are unopenable ones in the game and they outnumber the openable ones? There is one on mermaids hideaway, another on krakens fall and 2 others in the devil's roar that Falcore has mentioned in previous videos that require totems to open that do not yet exist.

The ones at Kraken’s Fall and Mermaid’s Hideaway can already be opened. I know because I’ve been in both vaults.

Love the video! For the record though, the Golden Hind was not restored, it rotted away on display. There are now 3 replicas of the ship, one of which is a sailing museum, and actually travels the world.
Anyone else noticed the "heart" at 6:10 does only hit half of the forts but a lot of other Islands/outposts...

A ton of people prob know this but I only found out recently and would be helpful to fellow up-and-coming soul emissary enthusiasts, gold skeletons not only slow down to a crawl in water, but lose a ton of their armor making them one shots with the rifle, this also can happen if you take a bucket of water and splash them

The replica of the Golden Hind visited the little coastal town that i grew up in when i was a child and it blew my mind. I was totally obsessed with it at the time. I really remember the visual impact the ship had on me.

There’s one island in the North that’s really small and has somewhat of a curvature to it. It’s more of a small shore, but in the direction of the curve in the island, there’s a huge shipwreck hidden beneath the surface of the water. Haven’t found any loot there, but it’s definitely cool looking
Actually I think it appears on the map as two small grassy flats surrounded by sand, but there’s a sandbar that connects the two underwater

Falcore I may be wrong about this, but I believe that all the areas in the sea of thieves are coming together to look like a crab. the orginal 3 areas are the body, devils roar is the right leg, and shores of gold is the right claw. if this is true this could mean there are two mores areas to open up at the left side of the map. someone pls look into this.

Acctualy the Moltan Sands Fortress (Devils Roar Fort) is not new it just has appeared on the map a few updates ago but it has been existing quite a while.
As a serious player that has read both the books and wears a pirate legend shirt I can still say I learned a lot.

also with they maiden voyage if you go into a pond that is next to the ship on the island (it's up on the island, not the one where you spawn next to) there is a key in the pond and if you use the key on a little hatch in the shipwreck of the ship you can go into a little safe house and get 20k gold and some dubloons
also the key is really hidden in there
I figured this out recently don't know how many people know about it but if you are In an alliance with someone, you can revive them like a crewmate
The thing about the forts is that Fotd used To be old boot Fort. It could be active and everything and it was frankly my favourite Fort. Meaning before fotd became a thing, old boot Fort was just there to mess everything up.
You can place a trinket on top of a barrel in the tavern in the east corner of the bar at golden sands
Wouldn't it be fking cool if the maiden voyage took you straight into adventure mode ? Like, Old Sails Isle could have had few alternate locations, all end up leading you to whatever outpost and after the camera zooms out, it'll go back to your pirate and just like that, you start your adventure
It would probably be too confusing for new players, they wouldn’t be in the middle of the ocean with no idea what to do or how to progress

On the maiden voyage there is a key to the vault in the little water puddle at the top once you get the key go to the bottom deck of the ship wreck and open the hatch there you will find heaps of gold and the blue coins can’t remember how to spell it just little tip for new players NOTE: You can only do this once
The south western shroud will probably be all the new stuff coming in a few weeks
In the haunted shores update if you shoot the meg once with a pistol and nothing after that, it won’t attack you, it’ll just circle around your ship until you go close to an island
when u get out from shores of gold you have a high chance of getting a meg or kraken
