Sf300 was my first pedal after not playing for 15 years and up until i bought my demon lung it was my main source of dirt. Glad to see it get the love it deserves
I got a Gibson SG Standard cuz I make them sound amazing. However….I never had any regrets buying this guitar. You definitely made killer videos and I am glad that I subscribed.

I'd love to see you throw down some Candlemass songs... they're a bit more on the metal side of doom (less fuzz more marshall) but especially some of the riffs off Epicus Doomicus Metallicus are legendary. (But if you do stick in more Electric Wizard territory, I won't be sad!)

Behringer pedals may be made cheaply with plastic but their quality is very good. I have their overdrive pedal for my bass and it’s really good. Kinda has the Fear Factory tone to it.

Rodrigo Marks it’s really all a matter of personal preference, but I generally like my guitars to feel pretty slinky so it will still be too light for some people for sure.
If you want to play with the record it seems like they were tuned to B standard and slowed the audio a bit on the master, I say this because when I play along with the record it seems I have to be somewhere between B standard and A sharp standard to dial in with them.
Funny how big electric wizard has gotten anyways .. what you really need to show people is where it all started and do a winter lesson eternal frost would be the one . Cheers keep up the good work

Dustin Richardson Kirk is a huge Thin Lizzy fan. A lot of Down’s stuff has those epic Lizzy style guitar harmonies going on (though a bit doomier in terms of scale / interval choices. Thin Lizzy and Phil Lynott fucking rule.

I got tendonitis in my elbow playing creeping death and speed thrash and while im healing and chilling found Pelican tuning and pelican which somehow led me to B standard and here we are. So "sup" channel subbed great song new to me. Have a supro fuzz and a deathmetal digitech and a saucybox way huge ... should get me there. Using a charvel san dimas pro mod 1 floyd and a prs se mark holcomb. The prs does the drop stuff great.
love the Drop B tuning, one of my fav for 6s Guitar used to use it a lot but i also love A tuning but is only truly tiring the amount of times my sixth string gets out of tune cos of my preference for lower tuning is truly annoying ):((

Hey, I know ur a fan of Father Iommi, and idk if u have seen them before, but this place in the UK called Oil City Pickups has a set of Tony Iommi tribute P90s called "The Void" they are wound to, like, 21k at the bridge and 17k at the neck, and if you talk to the guy (because each set is made to order) he can even do a humbucker sized version. Maybe something you would do a review on?

Not Answering yeah, that’s correct, but that was after the classic era, around TE / NSD when he started using the John Birch Guitar. Very hot / high impedance humbucking pickups in both that and his Jaydee Old Boy guitars.

I believe Electric Wizard use Drop B tuning, not B standard. They also play with 9 gauge strings. After seeing them live I could tell it was in Drop B from the way Jus was playing with one finger and he also plays really softly. He lets the fuzz and the volume do the work for him...very similar to Justin Broadrick from Godflesh.
Nope. There are hundreds of videos on TH-cam showing them clearly playing in B-Standard. I literally learned this song watching live footage. Never seen him baring like a Drop Tuning ever. Jus uses 10-52 strings. He also hasn’t used fuzz in over 10 years.
You must be lying cuz if you ever really saw the Wizard live, you would know Jus doesn't use 1 finger drop tunings of any kind and never has! Sort of. I go back through the audio and apply noise gates to both the guitar and vocal mic, but I also cut out entire sections of each at times to better the quality and clarity of the finished product.
Hey John, this video is a few years old so I can’t say for sure. Mode II with bass somewhere between 3 o’clock and max, and treble between noon and 3 o’clock. Level full and gain around 3 o’clock. If I had to guess.
Do you think the 1152 setup is close to what Osborne uses in this tuning? It sounds loose to me. I imagine it would feel super loose. But I played 1360s in standard on my Floyd until a luthier damaged it to the point it can't even stay in tune with 1150s... which is what I now use for balanced tension in standard
Illuminati Brain Control I’ve done it, it’s about as light as you could go with it. If you’ve ever played the blues on a standard tuned guitar with 9’s it doesn’t feel way different. Just need to use a lighter touch.

That output is absurd if you ask me. Iommi’s P-90 in the bridge of his Monkey SG was likely no higher than 9.5kOhm. 🤷🏻♂️

Nope. There are hundreds of videos on TH-cam showing them clearly playing in B-Standard. I literally learned this song watching live footage. Never seen him baring like a Drop Tuning ever. Jus uses 10-52 strings. He also hasn’t used fuzz in over 10 years.
You must be lying cuz if you ever really saw the Wizard live, you would know Jus doesn't use 1 finger drop tunings of any kind and never has! It's people like you spreading false info that mess up YT for others who want to learn the right way to play their fav songs. 11-52 is generally too light for this tuning. 12-56 to 13-60 would be more appropriate.

Sort of. I go back through the audio and apply noise gates to both the guitar and vocal mic, but I also cut out entire sections of each at times to better the quality and clarity of the finished product.

Hey John, this video is a few years old so I can’t say for sure. Mode II with bass somewhere between 3 o’clock and max, and treble between noon and 3 o’clock. Level full and gain around 3 o’clock. If I had to guess.

Does anybody know what models those Laney amps are in the background?
The one on top is a ‘69 Laney LBO-60 Supergroup, The one on the bottom is an ‘85 AOR Pro-Tube Lead 100.
Do you think the 1152 setup is close to what Osborne uses in this tuning? It sounds loose to me. I imagine it would feel super loose. But I played 1360s in standard on my Floyd until a luthier damaged it to the point it can't even stay in tune with 1150s... which is what I now use for balanced tension in standard
I’ve heard Jus uses 10-52. Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom. No real idea if that’s true or not but that’s what I’ve read.

Illuminati Brain Control I’ve done it, it’s about as light as you could go with it. If you’ve ever played the blues on a standard tuned guitar with 9’s it doesn’t feel way different. Just need to use a lighter touch.
