I had to write down these series because I think I actually might read them if I can make the time for it! 🤞🤞 hopefully we get more manhwa adaptations in place of the plethora of isekai adaptations we currently get.

Hey Fresh! If you want to deviate on regression manhwas, I have a recommendation to you. It's called Leviathan: Deep Sea Waters. It's like AoT but in the sea....and has a great ending. Yes, it is completed.

also, if you want a manwha where korea isnt the strongest then id say superhuman battlefield. cuz other than the mc, korea is very weak cuz all the good korean hunters moved to other countries along with the other nations people also being strong.

Just this week, I was reading a Chinese light novel, one of those stories where dozens of people from all the planet are randomly teleported into otherworld dungeons to survive and get rewards from missions. The part of Chinese people being the most summoned because of their many times bigger population kinda makes a little of sense, but that the people from all other countries are included just to always die immediately and powerless at the starting points is crazy.
ORV does have a regressor, and that person is supposed to be the MC,
But our MC isn't one. He's technically a pseudo isekai protag.
There's another one like that, but theaij character has no knowledge of the future or events, he can just see people's titles and skills, and seen he was a regressor, it created some really good misunderstandings
I would say ORV is much like multiverse than regressor, since the world each regression didn't disappear.
As a LN reader, keep reading. Orv dives deeper into the concept of regression.

It’s kind of a reverse isekai, but even that isn’t entirely accurate since the mc isn’t from another world. It’s like a semi reverse isekai. Instead of the mc going to another world, another world comes to the mc
SSS-class revival hunter is just genuinelly so good. The website I read it had it by the other name which put me off, but it is just SO GOOD. Not just the murim arc which Gigguk mentioned, the one after is of a genre I have no interest in and I was eating it up, it is just THAT well written

The fight between the heavenly demon and the sword emperor in SSS class suicide hunter is my favorite fight of all time. The juxtaposition of ideologies and the amazing artwork set it leagues above any other fight I've seen.
I remember the anime "best prodigies transfered to another world" and it was about the best prodigies in different field on earth transferred to another world and all of them were Japanese lol
There are only 2 Manhwas where I continued to read the Light Novel because I can't get enough:
1. SSS Class Suicide Hunter; and
2. Return of Mount Hua Sect.
These authors be fr making me feel every emotion hidden in the most cliché of titles. It's like finding hidden gems in the industry full of the same stories over and over again. Highly recommend ❤

I'm so glad people are starting to give SSS class revival hunter a chance, because yes at first it seems like the most generic thing ever but the more you read the more you keep going the more you realice how this series is absolute peak in storytelling, hunter stories are mostly carried by action/ fights and even tho there is action it's not about that it's about STRUGGLE
There are barely any action scenes in this. Sure there is the floor 11 army warfare and the chain boss fights through floors 12-19 but in floor 21 the fights themselves don't have that much action being the one at the beginning showing desperation and the one at the end for purely closure. Also floor 22 is resolved by purely dialogue; not a single fight scene tobehold. Same with the dollhouse floor.

my GOAT manhwa right now probably FFF-Class trash hero,it bought cliche isekai genre but i recommend everyone read it to the latest chapter, and you may feel that the pacing at the start might be slow, but just gave it a time and you gonna get hooked to it(work for me personally)😊
Anime is a gateway way into manga/manhwa and that is a gateway into webnovels you’ll spend ample time in each but you’ll eventually move to the next one
"Return of the Crazy Demon" is great regression manhwa with a lot of comedy in it and has great drawing. also satisfying fan service.
The second coming of gluttony is a really good one for regression. Not sure if it has a manwha or if it is only a book. It has great dark world building while and characters while still satisfying that opnes. It is someone being op and still failing and wishing to do it all over again. It is also a really good look into addictions and second chances, and is different in that it has mix of modern Korea and the fantasy world. I would also recommend reading some mawha instead of the manwhas. Since they are often based on text and can feel very rushes with the world building.
What I like about the Chinese ones is that they actually involve the whole world in the stories. But they have some problems with racism, but not all of them.

The Isekai hate is so overblown, are there a lot of bad isekai? yes, but its the same as every other genre but for some reason, people just harp on isekai
agreed, there's plenty of good and even decent ones. I think the biggest issue is there is an abundance of isekai that use such a cookie cutter, copy pasted formula. I'm not advocating for the eradication of isekai, just a decrease in volume, give us less of that and more of something new. If we have less isekai for a while then it will give the better one's a chance to shine more and that could even help people to appreciate isekai more.
I do think it's because every season, it felt like the number of not-so-good isekai is steadily increasing (because of demand, of course) so people is more sensitive about it. Not to mention, the term "isekai" itself became widely known.
I think the reason it's because it's overbloated.
It's the same reason why slice of life was hated around 5 to 10 years ago because the industry just keep churning them out.
Theres just too much isekai, even the traditional shonen like dragon ball, hunter x hunter and bleach are overshadowed by the trend
It's just the usual cycle of one or two examples out of a genre doing really well, everybody jumping onto the bandwagon and adapting everything webnovels/LN etc have to offer up to the point of scraping the bottom of the barrel and then the next thing comes along. Remember when every other release was a kind of highschool harem?
Having read a lot of regressor type wn, I can already predict where this new iteration will end up eventually as well and it's no better than the flood of ever more mediocre to bad isekai after all the good stuff has been adapted.

Chronicles of the Heavenly Demon god is one of my favorite stories. It isn’t a regresser story but instead is a “died and found a new body the same year due to magical shenanigans”.

Another excellent regression manhwa on the theme of the entertainement industry is Long Live The Drama King. This one is hilarious.
6:16 in this manhwa mc basically has knowledge that regressor has, and some story arca are based on concept of regressors as well. So while it is a spin on a genre, it still has all main element of it.
Return of The Crazy/Mad Demon is one that you should read, its also a Murim Manhwa on top of being a Regression and Comedy. Its the perfect blend for me, you have to read it, the MC is hilarious and his tactics are basically just trolling the enemy and then killing them without mercy afterwards.

Just finished Regression Of Cheolsu after stopped reading it a year ago, and it's sure was a good ride. The ending was a satisfactory, the drama are quite nice.

A Real Man isn’t what I would typically read but I loved every single one of the 184 chapters and I need more. I’m reading every single one of these recommendations.
I love SSS-Class Suicide Hunter. I read it until they took a break between "Seasons", and the hundred or so other manga/manwha I read buried it. Now I have to get back into it again if I can figure out where I left off.
Dok-ja (orv), han yoojin (s class that i raise) and cale henituse (trash of the count family). My 3 fav self sacrifice boys😂 while cale and han yoojin are loved, dokja are also ‘loved’ by his teammates.
For regression manwha, I reccomend staying away from anything that has to do with fighting. There are so many that has incredible premises, but use regression as a plot device. Medical stories, engineering stories, and career based stories are great.
Solo Leveling has a bunch of American heroes, but you also have to remember half the country was destroyed after a dungeon break.
isekai is a good genre if you have a great world like Mushoku Tensei. but for some reason they decided to copy each other and compete who can make the worst isekai.

I love isekai series because most of them are pretty relaxing to watch (not all of them ofc), there are no dramas, and there are no exaggerating conflicts. I know that some genres will be gone eventually someday like Action School genres in the past, but I hope that isekai still remain in anime industry. But if they're really gone then, oh well maybe I will stick to Slice of Life genre from now on lol

The first 5 he listed are all stories I've read. Technically, Solo Leveling becomes Regression after issue 100.
(Sort of) Regression story line: You should REALLY watch the 1980 movie: The Final Countdown. It is about the USS Nimitz supercarrier being transported back in time to December 6, 1941, and should they, or can they, affect history. Starring Kirk Douglas, Martin Sheen, James Farentino, Katharine Ross and Charles Durning. This movie had the support of the US Navy and the US DoD. Many operation scenes were shot onboard the USS Nimitz. This film was a moderate box office success and had mixed reviews, but I always considered it one of my "almost favorites but there's just something missing" movies. I highly recommend a watch because you _MAY_ really enjoy it.
Aside... Why did the name change to the Department of Defense from the War Department? Some news reals from the 1940s use "War Department", which is a perfectly apt description if you asks me. Which sounds more threatening: "If you mess with us you will have to deal with the Department of Defense." or "If you mess with us we'll sic the War Department on your ass."?
I also recommend Trash of the counts family, it's not regression but trasmigation, but I would say that transmigation is even closer to the isekai concept

I’m a Japanese and we have some web manhwa sites with both boys & “ladies”? contents. What’s annoying is that they localize those manhwas into Japanese! All the names and currency, they erase them through translation. So I sometimes try to find the original version and read them (kind of…)
Cheolsu Saves The World is such a great sci-fi Manhwa. I love that most of the science theories are real and the technologies in the series are what real life scientists (and Elon Musk) are trying to achieve right now. I believe they're doable within our lifetime and not some distant future like many other sci-fi works.

As a huge ORV fan, you will definitely love ORV it's such a good manhwa--almost the same as Solo Leveling. You and Gigguk are right on the description 😆 It's regression but not technically one because it's--OK I won't spoil because it's much more cooler if you find out yourself but I promise this manhwa is more than just gold but it's a gold god-tier manhwa story that it left most of the readers crying and wanting to regress and read the manhwa with no memories reading it and experience the same rollercoaster again.
I can't wait for the anime and I hope it gets the same treatment as Solo Leveling with little changes such as a JP/Global version but can also be challenging if Japan were to animate it because they tend to localize things. For Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, NOTHING should be localized or change because it will RUIN the ENTIRE plot of the story so Japan has to keep that in mind because it will enraged a lot of fans if they do and even new fans will be confused.

It's not regression yes but since we're on the topic of manhwa then I might as well. It's already big even before solo leveling came out. It's old but even it's S1 art is great enough to be put along side other beautifully illustrated manhwas we have right now. Detailed and has identity to it. Only gets better later on.

Sss class suicide hunter is honestly absolutely fantastic. It CANNOT be adapted into an anime. The art is so good and the way the art portrays the emotions is so good that it just CANNOT be adapted to the same degree by any animation studio that currently exists. Yes they can maybe get the fights down but the emotion of the scenes are really hard to adapt
