A very dangerous combination and we love it.
I remember a report piece about the new generation of Isekai/Magic world protagonists. They gave Cid a Score of 8.6 out of 10 on a power scale. He ranks 4th just barely .2 behind Ikki from Chilvry of a Failed Knight. As powerful as he is, his weaknesses brought his score down. His key weakness is the fact that he's so obsessed with being the Eminence in Shadow to see that he really is. His abilities rival Rimaru but his constant focus on being a Background character is what holds him back. 1 through 5 were amazing with 1 being Rimaru, 2 being Hajime from Arifureta, and 3 being Ikki from A Tale of Worst One.

In the manga, Cid did mention that Zeta is the most talented of the 7. She can learn anything after seeing it once and could rival Alpha, but she gets bored easily and doesn't master the skills that she learned. She's like Jack-of-all trade, master of none.
Im pretty sure you are talking about Beta here but still yeah, Zeta is very talented by her perceiving skill of scouting. Thus why, she leads everything first as the scout of the team, has a lot of skill but not overlapping to others.
It's pretty much on-point for her feline ancestry. Like a cat, she gets easily bored.

actually she's a master of all but not at the level of specialized mastery like, 85/100 if the others is 95/100
Alpha is literally one of the strongest characters in Eminence of shadow. She is second to only Cid. Alpha is the only one Delta is scared of except cid. One time she challenges Alpha for her position and lost badly. That's why in season 1 you see how scared delta was of alpha when she gave her the look or order. This is a passage from Eminence in shadow Wiki, "Alpha is the second-strongest member of Shadow Garden, surpassed only by Shadow. Her strength is so unchallenged that none within the organization dare oppose her, including her fellow "Shadows", and even Cid was impressed by how much she had grown. Rose and Alexia noted that while Shadow is the ultimate threshold of strength, Alpha is at least at the level of his footing".
I'm actually amazed that they didn't mention that in this vid either.
There was talk about challenges for ranks, but no mention of THE biggest challenge to exist, Alpha being challenged by Delta.

3. The Three heroes (The elven hero Olivier was said to be the strongest outta of the 3, Lili the beastkin hero was 2nd strongest & freya the human hero was the weakest outta of the 3)

7. Fenrir (Shadow said he is the strongest opponent he fought in a while)

Zeta wants to revive Diabolos and use that power to make Shadow immortal to rule the world, thinking Alpha is too naive
The strangest thing is the Cid is clearly a highly talented and intelligent person. Even before he got reborn he was highly skilled and able to track down professional criminals. And afterward he came up with all the unique magic, and he taught all his skills and knowledge to the Seven with enough competence that they became the powerhouses that they are. So why can't he see what's right in front of his eyes? He's literally seen whole armies of cult members. I know he thinks the members of Shadow Garden are humoring him in thanks for curing them and taking them in. But there must be a limit to that in his eyes, surely?
Or he's just too delusional because he's in constant state of Euphoria because he's finally capable to essentially becomes Nuke itself who knows.

It’s just part of the gag of the series. Shadow will likely never ever realize the truth
Cid is looking at a different direction while other characters looks at him. He is focused on what he wants to do not other people think of him.
He's smart enough to know he's never been entirely sane. Anytime he's confronted with undeniable proof that he's actually right, he just writes it off as him finally losing touch with reality and becoming fully delusional.
To him he is fighting common thugs.
As a young newly isekaid boy fighting century old monsters, it makes sense that any real monster would be a huge challenge. If they are so easy to dispense, his opinion of them being unimportant canon fodder is reinforced.
Also, criminal yndicates exist, but they are not necessarily a cult or even the cult of diablos. He made that up obviously
I always assumed The 7 Shadows can be as powerful as they choose to be (2nd only to Shadow) since the slime Cid gave each of them is only limited by their imagination. Nice to learn there's more Depth.
I don't think that the slime that they got from Cid was special. I think everyone uses the same slime but with enough practice and magical prowess you can make it adapt other shapes and colors. For instance, when the seven shades were yourger you can see that their slime suits are pretty plain and each one is the same, but their adult version have more specific traits. Only Alpha has a "plain" looking suit but mostly because she is laser focus on leading the organization and doesn't care much about asthetics (this last part is speculation from my side)

One other reason why the 7 shadows have grown so powerful is Cid's penchant for making up explanations or slipping into Chuuni-mode. "I read that in 3 seconds" = 7 shadows now consider the possibility of using magic to speed up one's thought process. Or (in the light novels) (Spoiler warning), Cid explaining how he understands Japanese by making up something about "all languages having the same basic form and pattern", and Beta (and later Eta) believing that and putting it into practice to actually learn Japanese quickly.
Their faith in everything he says makes them force themselves to grow stronger, smarter, and more powerful so that they can (in their minds) "keep up" with him.
That's because his explanations are somewhat grounded in reality. Languages do have some sort of form and pattern so yeah he's right on that one.
I do love that a majority of Shadows powers derives from his past life & Love of Anime & Manga. Essentially making him an overpowered chuunibyou.
Still wondering if he would fine a actual challenge for himself being overpowered is great but can be boring sometimes. It be hilarious if he finds a another overpowered isekai character like himself but he is light and cid is shadow they spent the whole part of the story one upping each other they be overpowered chuunibyou rivalry but chill type and not the toxic one like Naruto and sasuke.
And the fact the new world he is in is apparently REALLLLY shit at fighting.

Why would medical science ever evolve if there were literal magic that could easily handle most of it?
No way we would have ever actually found penicillin if we could just make a tiny prayer and the disease just up and vanished.
It is a fun explanation for why the swordmanship, hand to hand combat and the use of magical equipment never really got past the basics....Though the fact no one came to realize slime could be used the way Shadow uses it is still a bit weird...I mean it wont matter now, since the species he uses have more or less been hunted to death, but it is suprising no one found out earlier than he did...
@@jaieregilmore971challenge doesn't always have to be about strength. He already has enough challenges like making money, looking cool as shadow while being a background character as Cid. Not everyone needs to be a battle junkie like Goku who can't find purpose if they can't find a stronger opponent than themselves. Even Saitama who says he wants a challenging fight but just can't get it because he is too OP but he has his own challenges which makes the whole show entertaining

Isn't Gamma actually crazy strong, it's just that she is useless because she's a klutz? In the mobile game, there's a cutscene where she accidentally gets her sword stuck in a giant pillar, and rather than pulling the sword out she just rips the entire pillar out of the ground and smashes the enemy with it.
Yeah, physically and in magic stock she Is much strong as others Shades, but her lack much Battle skills make her useless in 1 to 1 combat
she is basically what a normal human without any combat training would be if injected with super power. She is super strong but the way she using her power is not really a combatant way.
I don't think that she is crazy strong but rather that her strategy (as per Cid training) is to inbude her weapon with a lot of magic and swing it until you hit something. An attack that she calls "swissh, swish". That last part I remember from the game but is also mention on the LN at some point.
There is also a scene where she fights someone who's a seasoned fighter, but not only does she simply tank his supposed killing blows, he can't read her at all because her insane speed and strength combined with her clumsiness makes her moves completely unpredictable

Here is this magically strong foe that you can sense a ton or magic coming from, that yells whoosh and claims you are a master or random arts that explain how you could trip her. You are confused just before her sword randomly slips from her hand and kills you.

I just love the fact that Shadow's word in the SG is absolute and even he knows that. His isekai power may very well be the ability to create/influence reality by simply imagining or speaking it for even through misunderstandings some how it becomes facts. Regardless if Shadow could ever be wrong or right, in a world where magic exist, his overwhelming power makes him always in the right.

Cid is like Ainz in a sense, both the leaders of an organisation/country that they understand nothing of, both have insane luck, both have their stupid actions misinterpreted as genius, and finally both are actually incredibly competent at combat.
It is not just luck, though; the essential thing for Cid's character is that he backs up the core foundations, which are, first and foremost, raw strength and "wisdom". Over the years, they grew up together, earning him an extraordinary reputation. To the rest, he is, in fact, an absolute genius combat-wise and intellectually since he was the one who bestowed all that power and knowledge. He is their true master.

If he wasn't faking his intellectual prowess the series loses a lot of comedic points. I'm pretty sure I mentioned they're both incredibly competent in combat, not sure what you're getting at.
@@infochan6776 In a backward world where technology, culture, etc are still lacking, Cid was the one who bestowed the concept and ideas that changed the foundations of their society. To the rest of his people, he is considered a real genius for his "wisdom" even though to us he's just using our world's knowledge, what matters is there is no one else like him in their world that we know of so far that his knowledge is considered impactful enough because without Cid those actual geniuses won't even have a foundation to work on and likely not even accomplish as much as they did. From all these things with "wisdom" and strength he backs up, he is considered a real genius in that world. For comparison of luck, King from OPM is considered lucky since he doesn't have real feats yet people just assume things from him, Cid on the other hand gives people concrete reasons for others to believe why he is a genius in their eyes.

Cid actually hasn't really trained delta. Cid has said that hes given up on trying to train them qnd so told delta to just use alot of magic to attack and in the eame vein told gamma to use alot of magic and have her swing her sword wildly
He trained both but only could teach the basics of his knowledge, when he tried with more advance stuff give up

Also, my favorite girls from Shadow Garden happen to Rose/666, Epsilon, Alpha, and Gamma. I am starting to like Beta more though.
Zeta is definitely #3 among the Shadows behind only Alpha and Delta. In book 5 she and Delta have a fight, which according to Cid is a pretty common event. That alone would tell you how strong she is. Delta wins their fight and is clearly physically stronger, but Zeta can completely hide her presence and Delta can't find her. This is something even Shadow can't manage. And when she does decide to run away Delta can't catch her. She's also shown to be very clever in following her own agenda which she hides completely from Alpha.
Delta wasn't the winner, the fight ended in a tie, Cid almost says that their matches never ends with a winner
Shadow can handle it, he's just saying that because the script looks nice
It's not like gamma is weak she's probably as strong as Epsilon it's just that she became a massive hazard everytime she's on the battle field. Not to mention she uses an extremely powerful slime long sword as her main weapon and since she has zero athleticism she just charge compressed mana on her blade and swing it like an absolute madman.

The fact that Shadow technically has so much power at his disposal even ignoring his innate magical abilities and physical skill but he has no idea is fucking hilarious. It’s kind of sad, but we wouldn’t get half the enjoyment we get from The Eminence in Shadow if it weren’t for Shadow’s massive density that is somehow perfectly veiled behind his very convincing roleplay. Fucking incredible.
He knows damn well his strength is unrivaled, he just has no clue that he is so far beyond everyone else in the verse, and doesn't even realize he created several people that dwarf the strongest public entities.

In the newest novel eta beat beta. She fights using tools shes invented. It took alpha to come and stop her. Of course it wasn't a fight to the death or anything and there was alot of comedic elements but it was the first good look at her in action and it was not disappointing.

Zeta is certainly strong. her skill is comparable to alpha and She has unique capabilities to copy any magic or skill she found interesting. (she was called copycat by delta for a reason) it makes her very predominant which led her to have such a high influence to create her secret faction. unfortunately she lacks any determination and lost interest as quickly as she got one.

Something interesting that you missed to say was that it seems that there is a difference in power if a non-named number is awakened by Shadow or not. That is why 559 and 666 are supposed to be special compared to others of the same rank.
It's not different. The problem is when cured directly from Cid you have more meaning and special than other member.
You should know 559 is not normal member, she is named and her name is Victoria. She is ever saint of church, leader of inquisitor to find and kill possessed people.
That is why she is not normal as former saint or as named member.
Because of that she see shadow as savior and as her god

I would say you're definitely underestimating the power of magic control. Magic control also let's Epsilon do things like precisely aim magic-infused items like daggers, as we see her doing in the anime, time speed bursts and quite likely give her one of the best controls of the ever-flexible slime suits. If we're just talking combat, one should not underestimate the power of precision.
i mean aside from cid and alpha, epsilon were the only one that can heal demon blood posession cause of her precision in magic control. and the skill you just mention almost all the shadow garden member can use it.

Ok this information was left out about zeta : zeta can go toe to toe with delta in a fight they just never have a clear winner because zeta would just get bored and leave it's also why some of her techniques are unfinished and flawed. This has been said by cid himself. Source both Ln and Manga
About Gamma she has tried to be trained by shadow but her problem is her athletic skills she is clumsy as hell and basically on the same level as darkness from kunosuba she has power but can't hit anything. However the times where she has gotten kills were mostly due to just plain luck she's just not to be messed with when it comes to turning shadows ideas into bank.

1. Shadow = OP and will beat your ass
2. 7 Shadows = OP and can beat Beatrix, no diff
3. Named Numbers (8-25) = More or less on the level of Beatrix
4. Regular Numbers (26-100) = Weaker than Beatrix but will still give her a hard time and possibly win
5. Regular Numbers (101-200) = Can beat Iris Midgar, no diff
6. Regular Numbers (201-300) = More or less on the level of Iris Midgar
7. Regular Numbers (301-400) = Weaker than Iris Midgar but will still give her a hard time and possibly win
8. Regular Numbers (401-500) = Awakened Rose level
9. Regular Numbers (501-666) = Claire Kagenou level
But... Claire Kagenou as a Vessel = Regular Numbers (26-100) or even Named Numbers (8-25).

zeta could be (aside alpha) the strongest member of shadow garden. Her wits and talent are second to none but she has a fatal flaw: she's a cat, and with that she's a total lazy ass and can't be bored to master anything fully. She's still a very powerful contender to delta, but her lack of focus and interest just don't allow her to win against her.
Cid is the kind of guy who does w/e he wants in DnD but is only capable of rolling 20's.
I find it funny how rest of the world doesn't know how magic truly works and Cid just figured it out by experimenting in few years

shadow garden is one of the best anime groups to enter anime even surpassing the gotei 13 from bleach and the tomb of nazaric from overlord in hierarchy structure...my only concern is that the story focuses too much on shadow and cid too use its potential too the fullest....it would be fun too get an arc that goes deep into the inner workings of the organisation such as an exploration of their base or even a daily mission against the cult of diablos
maybe a filler episode or a separate short anime?

I'd be interested in seeing how the Shadows compare to others in the world. How much stronger did Rose become when she became a number? How high do you need to go in the Garden's hierarchy before you reach someone who can consistently take down an underworld boss, like Juggernaut? Is there that much of a delineation between Government knights, underworld bosses, legends, artifact users, and Shadow Garden members?
Each shade seems to be a little weaker than a legend like Vamp Queen or a Hero clone, and then everyone else is way below that. Iris was the strongest knight in Midgar but pretty weak compared to a shade, or even weaker than a random number it seems.
think of it like this all squad (3 people) team could take down the war goddess beatrix easily and each individual in a 1v1 could give beatrix a decent fight. for this match up it for only the ones allowed to go on missions because you have too reach certain thresholds before being allowed to go on missions.
My thing with Rose is her Demon Possession was cured by Cid. The only others he directly cured are the Seven Shades & his sister, Claire. The Named Numbers & Numbers were cured by either Alpha or Epsilon, & are weaker. So even though Rose is a Number (666), does that get negated by the fact she was cured by Cid & is at least as strong as a Named Number?
@@broodo1cured but not trained with "Shadow's wisdom". Her base state got a massive boost from mana tweak, but human still has low fraction of Aurora blood, still huge different between her a d the elves/beastkins. Victoria is also cured by Cid who should show up at third arc of this season.
Rose is stronger than many of the numbers, because it was Cid himself who healed her of her possession. The LN references this a bit in dialog between Rose and another number who Cid also personally healed, and who is also stronger than many of the others.

Honestly I believe that Cid's Isekai power is not that he is OP but rather that the universe modifies his delusions to become accurate some of the "coincidences" go way too far to be just happenstance.

Perhaps possible. Mushoku Tensai is also perhaps possible. It's all Kadokawa published isekai. That said, I'm under the impression that Kadokawa is very conscious of the potential for the genre to quickly hit the oversaturation point so nothing new they add will likely be more than an occasional gag.
Well, the thing with Isekai quartet is that all 4 different anime is made by 4 different authors that have close friendship.

From what I’ve read, I would say Zeta is stronger than Alpha and Zeta also sees CID as a God
Rather than being stronger she is more talented but also way more lazy, she picks up a new technique/weapon/fighting style extremely easily, reaches a high level extremely fast, then get bored and move on before gaining full mastery over it. If she was more serious when it come to training she could definitly surpass Alpha but her attitude stops that from happening

As Cid put it himself there are important things to him everything else he cut away. His presumed fabrication being proven right or wrong is not one of those important things. So yes, Cid will never be aware he is right. If for no other reason, even if he is shown its true as he will just assume the one showing him is playing along.
I love how Cid has basically his own black ops PMC/private army and doesn’t even realize it.
Zeta Is the most talented of them all but lack the dedication to master any thing and get easily bored and tend to run away when that happened.
Zeta is definitely closer to delta if not stronger if she went all out. Beta and epsilon is a tossup but would give it to epsilon because she is more talented then beta and I think she even admits to it in the anime or the novel. Beta mostly have the social skills many lack in the group and is the public face

There is also the exception of Victoria in terms of strength compared to her number. Since she was healed by Cid directly. The Shades think that she is almost at their level. Rose and Akane will probably be very strong as well given this. His sister Claire potentially may become really powerful if she had been trained by him. I think it was in the web novel or manga that they mention that she did pick up a few tricks from Cid even in his mob persona.
From what i understand Victoria was around the level of the seven shadows when both parties were kids and before she joined Shadow Garden but because of their special trainings a big gap was created between them, with shadow healing her and her receiving the training of shadow garden the gap is probably much lower but i don't remember any mention of comparison between them after she joined SG, she is definitly much weaker than Alpha, Delta and Zeta and probably weaker than Beta and Epsilon but I could see her around Gamma and Eta
Personally, I'm hoping Claire does join them... more so since she's also getting boosted by Aurora's power.
And given the story so far with the LN, I'm thinking Alexia may join too...

in fact, the manga made Cid seem like a total idiot before his isekai because he was looking like a huge bodybuilder but still acting as if he hid his strength.
@@alexisgameurrt2054 in her LN bio was stated she is almost as the same level as the Shades and she Is raising ranks to be part of them, in fact her part in the Oriana Arc when she almost single kill a small army (almost dying at the orocess) was originally Epsilon's in the Web Novel

I thought that Eta was the weakest mostly because of her attitude but also from more focus on experiments and projects and letting others do the testing of her projects, and because of that i think that didnt even train as much as the rest of Shade's, And yes, even considering Gamma' s most obviously weakness and as AniNews said her intuition, i think she could still beat Eta mostly because of two reasons:
First: It said that Gamma is as smart as Eta but Gamma Inteligence is more focused around strategic combat when Eta's more focused as scientist, so this should at least give a little advantage if come to a combat.
Second: (here i gonna use info i saw from the gatha game so if isnt cannon you can negate everything i write from now on)
From what I saw it looked tha Eta also don't have intuition as a fighter and adding what i wrote above about her attitude and everything else, it is possible that she have the lowest battle prowess from all the Shades
I feel like the fighting abilities hierarchy between the seven shades is Alpha (1st), Delta and Zeta (2nd and 3rd debatable), Epsilon and Beta (4th and 5th debatable), Gamma and Eta (6th and 7th debatable). By debatable i mean that an argument can be made for each one to beat the other

you forgot to mention people like Victoria and Rose who are special cases of being personally saved by Cid making their powers on par and the next candidates for the 7 Shades positions. there are also many other known Named Numbers mentioned in the LN/WN/M
Alpha didn't recruit the other 6 named members. The ones with names were all saved by Sid, the numbered members are rhe ones everyone else saved.
It's because they were saved by Sid and know Sid personally that they are deserving of a name. It is also why they're more powerful and are the leaders of the organisation.
Can we please acknowledge the fact that every flashback where Sid imparts the wisdom of the shadows he's wearing a different outfit!

Delta and Zeta are kind of rivals being a dog and a cat respectively. While Delta has physical strength and great instinctual control over her magic making her a great vanguard, Zeta is more of a lazy genius. Cid describes Zeta as someone capable of learning any kind of skill in a rate far greater than anyone but her biggest flaw is that she easily gets bored so while she can learn any kind of skill quickly, she often get's bored and doesn't give all the effort on learning everything.

A good example is when Delta and Zeta had a fight over the mackerel that Zeta gave to Cid as a present. Zeta was able to use one of the Vampire Queen's ability and turn herself into mist negative Delta's advantage in physical strength. However this is where her flaw kicks in. While Zeta was able to be proficient in using the vampire queen's magic to turn herself into mist, she never gave the effort to fully master it thus making her unable to turn her tail into mist which is a mistake that Delta quickly took advantage of. The fight ended when Zeta got bored and decided to fly away while delta tried to run after her.
I always need more lore! Between this format and the “who is ___” type videos I could watch these for hours.

Everyone thinks that Cid is the most powerful one, but everyone forgot that the one being that can stop cid is truck-kun.

Fun fact:
There is a separate group in the shadow garden that researches on how to obtain immortality. They realize that Cid being human will eventually die of old age no matter how strong he is and they cannot accept a Shadow Garden without Shadow. So they will search a method to make Cid immortal and make him their god.
Question is can cid or rather shadow revert his age or like make himself order as he pleases like how he changes his eye color to red via magic?
