I am a T1D also and diabetes is the hardest thing I have encountered in life. Everyday we face serious health problems if we fail to manage our diabetes well. Sleeping is the hardest part for me, I fear having a low in the middle of the night.

Thank you for this. I feel none of my friends or family really get it 😭

Same here…it is like I have to hide the overwhelming feelings so that the people around us dont misunderstand and think I am just being crazy. It’s really hard and very lonely

Thanks for your video. I have just been diagnosed with T1D and I am currently trying to get my head around it all. I also have Fibromyalgia, so this is indeed an added stress for me to have to deal with. I hope you are having a better day today. It's good to remember that we are not alone!

I can definitely relate! I have plenty of days where I feel like that. I agree with what you said where it’s best to acknowledge those feelings and take a break from other stressors. Personally I regularly do therapy and journal a lot as needed. I also agree that social media can help with different groups and people and seeing that how you feel is also how other people feel. Hope you’re having a better day today! ❤️

I totally get it I was diagnosed with T1D.. 3 years ago whilst in lockdown it was extremely stressful 😢 I got it more under control now but I still to this day find it challenging at times plus I suffer from tinnitus aswell . I definately get it can affect mental health. I also think non diabetics don't understand the challenges we go through as its a complex disease and can be unpredictable, its not like you take your insulin and your good to go. It isn't as easy as that. It is 24/7 disease you get no day off you have to nurse it day in and day out, it can be stressful, life is hard enough it just makes it more challenging with T1D.

I have type 1 diabetes for the past 14 years and I use Omni pod 5 and dexcom g6. I also had some mental health challenges and I’m wondering if they were brought on by the disease. I am going to treatment for it, and don’t know a lot of people (or any besides one 7 year old I saw outside of a martial arts store) with type 1 in my area. It’s a really demanding disease. Wishing you good blood sugars !

Drink lots of water, even more so than insulin injections. In my experience.
