Great video! I’d really like to see more coverage of the LVEC Taxi, its reliable, performance and running costs. Its a huge investment to make for a sole trader.
Thank you. Over the next few weeks I’ll be uploading a video all about the Taxi. I’m just compiling a list of things to include 👍 it is a significant investment
Thank you Michael, really glad you like my videos. Good luck on your knowledge journey. My next video will be up this Thursday and another on Sunday. 👍
Really enjoyed the video. I studied the knowledge for about 2.5yrs part time before i had to give up due to life/family balance and just not able to keep it up. That was about 10yrs ago. Dad was a cabbie for 30yrs and brother was for about 10yr before retiring. Always respect the effort to get the badge. Love video - avid new subscriber😊
Thank you for your kind comment Dave. The knowledge is such a task it really takes its toll, especially with other life stresses. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for your support. It’s never too late to consider retrying. Personally I don’t think it’s been easier than now (with the LTNs) you honestly don’t need to learn anywhere near as much. I will cover this in a planned future video. Thanks again for your support 👍
Simple and very informative .Very well put together and shows how a day in the life of a professional taxi driver is challenging but rewarding.Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing more footage.🚕🚕
Another great Video. Also a listener to the Wizann Podcasts so great shout from Dean to have a podcast about your channel too. Be lucky mate and thanks again for the Video
Thank you for that kind comment. I done the suburbs runs for Deans channel a few years back, I’m looking forward to doing a podcast with him in the near future
I’m watching through your videos now and I know this isn’t your most recent but if you haven’t added the road names to the bottom of the screen again like in Episode 3 can you add them back? It gave me a sense of where you are at that given time because sometimes your little map is delayed or ahead a bit. Apart from that loving your videos and defo will be watching the rest.
Thanks Callum. On my first video I had the road name for every road used. Tit took me an absolute age to edit. I’ve started adding the starting road and finishing road to the videos and also trying to make sure the map is as closely synced to the POV. Thanks for taking the time out to leave a comment. Your feedback and support is really appreciated 👍
I can't possibly imagine why those who work from home 2 days a week always choose Monday and Friday....anyone would think they are just extending their weekend....surely not!
Yeah London can be feel like a ghost town on a Monday and Friday and we all know there is no way they are “working” from home. Just have to try and work smarter to keep a bum on the back seat of the cab. Thanks for your comment and support 👍
As the crow flies you’re correct but Park Lane is the fastest road north due to the bus lane and lack of traffic lights. Splitting feathers really, I doubt the overall meter total wouldn’t be more than £1 different either way.
Can you explain more about you, your journey in becoming a London Taxi Driver, how long it took you to do the knowledge ( amazing by the way ) How long you've been a cabbie, what you like, what you don't like, Do you own your cab...etc so many questions I know
That’s a great idea. I have a plan for a future video (very soon) and will include those points. Any others you can think of comment here and I’ll add them 👍
@@ALondonCabbie brilliant mate, love your videos by the way. Maybe a day in the life video of a London cabbie would be great.. big respect to you guys and gals that have done the knowledge and keep London moving....don't know how you do it (just driving in London gives me a headache) you do it day in day out and it's your lively hood also. I don't think Londoners realise how amazing you all are.....
@@BigALuk33 Thank you, yeah that's a great idea. Definitely a video I could try and make in the future. Strangely we just get used to it. Bus Lanes and knowledge of better options when there is traffic does help.
I should have mentioned that. Hobart Place has been closed for weeks now. It may still be shut. Something I definitely should have put in the video. Great observation. Hope you enjoyed the video 👍
When we study “the knowledge” we learn the shortest routes across London. Once out on the road, you learn what roads move the fastest and take full advantage of access to Bus Lanes and roads other vehicles are not allowed to use. Using this information we beat Sat Navs across London with pretty much every customer. Not saying live traffic information isn’t helpful but Google Maps and similar don’t take into account what a Taxi can do and what a car cannot. 👍
It depends on the app. Unify and TaxiApp the driver gets full meter fare. Gett, FreeNow, ComCab commission is between 12.5-20%. Some apps offer fixed price (sometimes more than the meter)
I gave my badge back 25 years ago,I have I’ve never regretted making that decision , it was nightmare then traffic wise, it’s obviously a lot worse now, plus all the aggro now with Uber and others nicking your work, I’m so pleased I took a career diversion, I appreciate not everyone gets that opportunity, good luck feller.

@@bertiewooster3326thanks for your comment Bertie. Unfortunately no one ever questions Starbucks turning over millions daily yet never paying a single penny in tax in the UK (along with countless other companies) yet a cab driver has a back up card reader (which is legally allowed in all other forms of business in the UK) in case the “approved” device in the back fails (which they do on a very regular basis) and you will see a failure in one of my future videos

There are currently 382 licensed female Taxi Drivers in London. I’m unsure of how many drive the newer LEVC Taxis. You’re free to choose whatever mode of transport you like, including free to choose whichever Taxi you want on the street or even on a rank. Hope this helps 👍
