Another Great Video and this is why you should NEVER let work groups influence your plans! Thanks again for the shout and there is a special offer for knowledge graduates who mention Ollys Channel 😊😊
So refreshing to see a cabbie who doesn’t mind when the customer puts the Google maps on. I’ve been a cabbie here in London and in Hong Kong as well and I’ve heard stories from passengers about drivers not wanting to take their preferred route because “I’ve been doing it longer than you’ve been alive love” and getting stuck in traffic and the customer being a bit miffed. My philosophy is, your paying so even if you wanted to go around the M25 no problem sir whatever you say. Keep up the good work Ollie!
Another great video Ollie keep them coming! I could literally watch these for hours. I find them so interesting as you never know where you’re going to end up!
Great video as always. I really appreciate these as I've just started the knowledge. I do miss being able to see the time of day on the top of the map as it gives a sense of how long jobs take you and how long you wait between jobs. Thanks a lot for the videos
Thanks Nabil. I’m trying to find the balance. I felt the larger map took over too much of the screen and current feedback has been more positive towards the smaller maps. It’s hard but on the next few videos I edit, I’ll try and include the journey time from start to finish on each job I do. (I have 2 completed uploads already) so it’ll be after those ones. Good luck on your knowledge journey 👍
@@nabilomar4631 no that’s great. I’ll look at doing it (or something similar) I want to make my videos as good as possible. That could help out for sure 👍
Really enjoying sitting with a cuppa and watching you show us how to navigate London Ollie.Makes my job as a cabbie in Glasgow seem so easy.Keep up the great work, glad we stumbled on your channel👍
Thank you Colin. Really appreciate you taking the time out to leave a comment. As a Glasgow cabbie, I’m sure if you were a few hundred miles south, you’d make a great cabbie in London. Both are busy cities. I’m so happy you found my channel and have commented. Be lucky mate 🍀
you had some lovely work especially when you thought it probably wont be a good shift. you just never know wat the next job is i used to work for an excutive car firm just near charlotte st 30 year ago these videos are bringing back fond memories of all the places your going and picking up from thanks alot
Thank you Jason. 30 years ago! I bet some of the roads have changed drastically since then! Thank you for taking the time out to comment. It’s really appreciated 👍
Thank you for your time. Your vides are getting better and better. As I am fast approaching my first appearance those videos give me some tips and reassurance on the long way... Thank you once again
Once again, another belter! Thank you for your time recording and editing, Ollie, and great to see you get some decent trips this shift rather than last week's disaster(the less said about that the better)! Warp speed🚀 was definitely engaged once you got on the M40😆heading for High Wycombe! Can you pick up/ set down in a bus lane? Apologies if you've already answered this in a previous video, and I've forgotten what you said! Michael
Thanks Michael yeah it worked out ok. I’m getting faster with the editing but it’s still a few hours per upload and learning new tricks each time too. Yeah we can set down anywhere (other than on a crossing or zigzag markings) 👍
Thank you for your kind comment. Repetition while studying is the main way. Roads all fall into sequences/patterns and after spending thousands of hours studying, the patterns all fall into place
Really top class video mate, you've nailed it now. I have left a few comments on your previous videos advising what I think and you should or shouldn't do and I have to admit, I've been completely wrong, so ignore me. The music was a lot quieter so less distracting but I preferred what you did in this so all good . Cheers
Thank you. All feedback is welcome, I only know what works and what doesn’t from what the comments section has in it. I’m learning with every upload and hopefully the quality of the videos is improving each time. Certain things sound good on AirPods, then played through the TV or phone speaker just don’t sound right. Thanks for your support and any future feedback is always welcome. 👍
Thank you. I’m really pleased you’re enjoying the videos I’ve uploaded. Hopefully you continue to enjoy the videos I upload in the future too. Thank you for taking the time out to leave a comment as well
Really informative videos Ollie!… I’m on the knowledge myself and appreciate the content you put out. Great hints and tips for when i do get my badge, keep them coming fella 👍
Thank you Larry. I’m learning every day too. The main thing I’ve started doing is watching other cabbies (especially those doing uturns in random places. Questioning why they have done that! What restrictions have they just avoided? Good luck on your knowledge journey 🍀
Could you describe how you are using the map thumbnail? I started doing driving videos and this would be amazing to add. Great vid thank you for sharing. You just got a new sub.
Thanks Mark. More and more drivers have been returning to the trade recently. I’ll certainly try to point out new points on future videos. Thanks for your comments and support 👍
I'm confused by the title. Isn't it illegal anyway to broom a job that is within twelve miles of the centre of London and/or under an hour in duration?
It’s not “illegal” but certainly can cause licensing issues (for repeat complaints) and rightly so. I was just highlighting that by not brooming a smaller job, a bigger one could always be just round the corner 👍
Thanks for your comment Rodney. I was a Bus Controller for around 9 years. I love the freedom I have now. There’s pros and cons to everything but I’m enjoying it a lot 👍
Thanks Rob. The majority of app jobs are meter (-commission) some are “fixed price” but I generally swerve those. I believe we have a meter for a reason, one of the many things that sets us apart from other mobs 👍
Hi, Is it possible to sync the commentary with the streets you are actually going down, as at the moment your commentary is ahead of the streets? Other than that I very much enjoy your videos.
Thank you for taking the time out to leave a comment John. I have tried that in the past but it just doesn’t feel fluid enough. From previous videos the feedback I have had is, the majority prefer the route call at the beginning. I am looking at different options for future videos and trying to see what the majority of viewers prefer. Thanks again for your feedback, it’s always welcome and appreciated
Hi Michael. I’m not sure what the data/GDPR laws/boundaries are. Just in case I’ll blur faces of potential customers. This seems to be the same with most POV accounts, whether driving or even food deliveries 👍

You're getting better each video you're releasing, excellent work mate. 👏🏼👏🏼

Was the Wycombe job Meter or Fixed? Also Westway N/S lane tends to run quicker once past the Old BBC buildings all the way to Gypsy Corner! BL!
Thanks Dave, it was on the meter 👌 I’ll bear that in mind for the future, nice one 👍
Great vid Ollie 😊👍
Thank you 👍 I’m so glad you are enjoying the videos I’m making

Meter

Did the customer actually have google going the entire journey or just the start to let you know hes watching? lol
Thanks Kane. I heard it at the beginning, then turned the radio up so can’t confirm either way 😅
