Hey Instructors just wanted to clarify something Will a red light camera flash me if I went through on amber but my back end crossed the line while it went on red
This is a very tricky question to answer this can come down to vehicle speed on approach, who is around you when it happens e.g. pedestrians. The load that you are carrying e.g. ADR, and weather conditions. As long as these points are fair then we would say no as the front of the vehicle passes the white line you are then committed to carry on because to stop now would cause you to stop on the pedestrian crossing, road crossing or junction or potentially a yellow box junction. 👍Hope this helps good luck and stay safe
We would need to carry out a driving assessment and then we can give you a price from there. If you'd like to go to school we can book you in for a FREE assessment. 👍👍👍
So the actual test vehicle has to comply with these rules. A MAM of at least 12 tonnes at least 8 metres long at least 2.4 metres wide. As stated in; www.gov.uk/guidance/rules-for-lorries-used-for-driving-tests Hope this helps 👍👍
An excellent question, an old term is HGV for "heavy goods vehicle" but nowadays, the term is now "large goods vehicle" or category C or C+E. The reason behind it is, it doesn't have to be heavy to be large.. 👍👍👍👍
@@NationalDrivingCentre 🤣😉 so how does one go about getting funding to do the training? ATT Hinckley is good if you haven’t found somewhere yet
Hi minimum weight does the truck need to be to learn in the class 2
The vehicle would need to be over 7.5 tons, maximum authorised mass and not exceeding 32 tons. 👍👍
@@NationalDrivingCentre so if you sot your test in a 14 ton daf would u get the licence to drive up to 32 ton?
@@meme-pc3ig yes absolutely correct. All of our category seas are 14.5t MAM. 👍👍
@@NationalDrivingCentre k good as I've got a 5 day course
So the actual test vehicle has to comply with these rules. A MAM of at least 12 tonnes
at least 8 metres long
at least 2.4 metres wide.
As stated in;
www.gov.uk/guidance/rules-for-lorries-used-for-driving-tests
Hope this helps 👍👍
Why is it sometimes called an LGV and sometimes called a HGV?
An excellent question, an old term is HGV for "heavy goods vehicle" but nowadays, the term is now "large goods vehicle" or category C or C+E. The reason behind it is, it doesn't have to be heavy to be large.. 👍👍👍👍
will be same questions if I go from cat B to C+E?
Yes exactly the same.👍👍
@@NationalDrivingCentre thanks, PASS my class 1 on 1st attemp from cat B. :DDD
Niceone Andy an Keith

Hi Gurpreet, you can train and test from 12th April 😃
Are you coming to us for training?
@@NationalDrivingCentre thank you 😊🙏☺
I passed my class 2 in1978 and it had 4 axles
Great stuff, thank you very much for your comment.👍👍👍
My company are offering free training and the opportunity to move from being in store to a LGV driver. Whats a day to work life like.
That sounds great Ross, unfortunately we are just in the business of license acquisition. 👍
Hi i want do truck license. is driver height matters in truck mine 5 ft ?
You can adjust the seat no worries at all Gurpreet 😄
@@NationalDrivingCentre 😒
Very great video help me pass my
Well done Ralf! Best of luck in the future 👍🏼
By the time you do all that everyday you would never get on the road, collect your p45 on the way out
Not really once you set into your routines you will be fine.👍
Thought they would only ask 2 questions?
No, normal a few more than two.👍👍
How man of the 18 questions do they ask on your test? Its not rhe full 18 is it?
You'll be asked, anyway between 3 to 5 questions on this section. 👍
@@NationalDrivingCentre cheers for the rapid reply 👌
@@That_spicy_rocco 👍👍
Advice for watching this video. Deep valleys on the student’s “builders bum” 😁
🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍
@@NationalDrivingCentre 🤣😉 so how does one go about getting funding to do the training? I’m not employed, been driving cars and vans for years, age 52, pensioned off veteran, thinking about doing some single drop long distance a couple of days a week. How do I get started and are there sources of funding?
I have a cpc for my cat d.. do I have to do. A separate cpc for the class 1 ?
Sorry yes Billy, There is one for HGV/LGV and one for PCV. Double check the back of your card or online because some of the subjects you may learn for your 35 hours can be for both eg first-aid manual or handling.👍👍👍
@@NationalDrivingCentre I see wha to u mean. Thank you.
Hi is the class 1 show and telle. The same as class 2
A good question Billy, yes pretty much all the same kind of questions.👍👍
@@NationalDrivingCentre as u are driver and n the industry would u say going right in for the 5 day training for the class1 without having a class 2 is a bad idea? I have a D cat license not that that's enywhere near a c&e. Your advice would be appreciated.
Is the same for C+E, do you have show me tell me video for C+E
Yes Mat, this will be exactly the same for C+E may be some more questions on stabiliser legs or kingpin, but otherwise identical. 👍
Thank you so much.
@@glazersburn 👍
Why would he not check the reverse lights?
This is not a legal requirements.
great video, thank you
Glad you liked it Sarah 😃
Hlo sar
Can we drive 12 tyres truck by category C license
Sorry not sure what you mean by 12 tyres. The categories in the UK comes down to vehicle weight and whether it's towing a trailer or not if you can give us a bit more information we will help you answer this question.👍
Thanks lads
No problem thank you so much.👍👍👍
Do they actually ask you all of them questions ?
With the show me tell me questions, normally about three or four questions.👍👍
Does this also apply for the c+e
Yes pretty much the same questions the only add-ons could be checking the brake lights on the trailer unit and potentially securing of the fifth wheel.👍👍👍
Ok that's brilliant thankyou, love your videos full of information keep up the good work 👌👊
Do you only in london ?
London and south east England. But we have people stay in hotels for the practical course if that is an option for you?
Good video gents
Great work well done👍👍
