I just got this at ace hardware new, on sale for 25 dollars…but, I an not sure which on it is, it doesn’t say original, large or small on the box….mine assembled. Is 34 inches tall from floor to top of charcoal burner on top of lid…very close to 34 inches tall in total…is that the original? The reason for the low price was the box got minor water damage on it in storage,,,was very minimal…was unopened and new inside to include all paperwork…can’t wait to try it out. Just wanted to know which size I got…
Love my Orion!!! Best Tailgate tool for ribs. All the guys watching me load up 6 racks of raw ribs said they would never believe they would be done in 90 minutes. 2 hours later, they were all lined up to have a taste. Huge props to the makers of the Orion. Truly a great cooker.
I believe it would work great if I got all the parts of my Orion originally. Bought one originally missing the brackets the cooking grates sit on took it back exchanged it for another this one was missing the brackets and the rib hangers and 2 of the cooking grates. Took it back. That experience turned me off from this company all tobether
I just heard of this for the first time today and ordered the Original model. It seems perfect. How large of a roast can be cooked in the Original sized cooker?
Does rust outside? In PA it is humid and rains all summer … Also have you heard of the Yemeni Mandi …it is the same concept except one barrel is inside another and fire goes in between… More heat all around…check it out ?

Looks a little small for a Brisket
I have been debating on buying this unit for over 3 years! Memorial day sale still going so I pulled the trigger and got one! Time to cook some ribs!
I just cooked my first item on the Orion cooker… a whole smoked chicken. Good god was it tasty.
This seems like a sealed unit when cooking is the smoke vented out anywhere?

I love mine. He's right the hardest part is trusting the process. Walk away and come back later! Don't touch it until your time is up!

I'm in TN which can be argued is the epitome of humid. I've had the option outside for three years (under a cover mind you) and no rust issues.
