MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is an upcoming BattleTech Mecha game under development by Piranha Games and due for release on December 10, 2019 on Windows. It is the first single player MechWarrior game since 2002. It will be Epic Games Store exclusive and is slated to have raytracing powered by Nvidia RTX as well as DLSS.
MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is set in 3015 during the final decade of the Third Succession War, casting the player as a rookie mercenary MechWarrior rising from the ashes of a demolished mercenary unit. They are able to accept contracts from the various factions available in this time period. The campaign is said to go all the way up to 3049, just before the Clan Invasion." - เกม
I like that the PPC-X is essentially an Energy LBX-10 AC that will save you lots of weight for other things

I love them. I do think they're kinda busted though. They really outmode LB10Xs with how much damage they do and how fast they fire.
Snubs are the "shutgun" of PPC's and they dont exist in this time period. No clue what PGI was thinking with the PPC-X though, it certainly wasn't balance thats for sure.
1:55 YAML as nice mod as it is, it has also made us forget that we can just drop the mech to the cold storage to remove the old/damaged equipment and save some days and cbills :D
PPC-X is gonna be nutty on yaml on the Warhammer. PPC capacitor quirk+actual PPC capacitor items+PPC FCS or battle computer. They do 30 DMG now they'll probably pull about 60 with all that. Even in this game that's almost 2 tons of armor shredded every single time you pull the trigger. From up close obviously, they have rather short range.

Oh damn I didn't know George Ledoux voiced Duncan Fisher in MW5 too. I hope that guy lives forever, he's a pretty cool dude. Duncan is one of my all-time favorite characters in any sci-fi franchise, I'm glad he features in MW5. I haven't actually played 5, but from what I've seen from you and Baradul it looks like it's a reasonably decent successor to MW4 -- which imho was one of the best games ever made.
One question about MW5:
Can you play in Battle Armor, or is it all 'Mechs? I ain't switching from 4 and Living Legends unless I can peel pilots out of their cockpits by hand with my claw. Nothing like hanging off the top of a helpless 100T 'Mech while the MechWarrior inside frantically tries to find a way to dislodge the tiny 1-ton fly that's inexorably drilling through their armor. If it's not part of the core game, does anyone know if there is at least a decent mod for that?
No battle armour, there's no clan mechs either. No mods for battle armour really although there are mods for clan mechs.
I got a Supernova with 6 PPC-X's on it. It feels like a cheat code but if TTB endorses the PPC-X then I feel much better about it. It sure looks cool too!
I really hope ppcx doesn't get nerfed too hard it's a fun gun.

Wish consoles had mods like another mech lab to customize mech way more,but love new toys tho.
While I really like the new PPCX if they stay close to Canon, and here canon is previous Mechwarrior games and a little bit from the books, ERPPCs might come in handy as a couple of the arenas are huge

ROTFLMBO! Happy to see the reference to canon. I've read all 3, own all 3, along with all of the Battletech Novels. Along with the Mechwarrior Novels. And a dozen or so of the new ones. Played TT too.
I put 4 gold ppc-x on my king crab Kgc-kj with the proper upgrades and no other weapons so you can slot as much heat sinks as you can you can fire these things chain fire forever. You just blast any mech to pieces in 1-2 trigger pulls.
I was going to try this as soon as I get 2 more masterwork, I used to run it with 4 masterwork large pulse and was pretty good for cooking pilots.
Loving the banter between Duncan Fisher and the commentator, but still hating the salvage system seeing all the goodies it won't let you have. Chassis and components should definitely be separated, and it should be an option to just pick any one mech regardless of shares if you have max salvage selected.
Love the PPCx myself, running three on my MAD 2, just wish I could find the Kaiju, so I could run 4 of them.

Having recently dropped MWO, I couldn't agree more.
If you learned that in MW5 the single most valuable salvage item in the entire game is the double heat sink, because it is, you would HAVE double heat sinks and couldn't sleep that Awesome on a volcano world.
Double Heat Sink > equipment you've never even tried > assault mech chassis you've never tried that has nice hardpoints > hero mech > 4 pip weapons you like > everything else. No exceptions.
I entered the new DLC with 24 assault mechs running nothing but double heat sinks and nearly 100 extras on hand. You can buy a nice PPC or AC-10 ANYWHERE. All the time. Always available just a jump or two away.
I have to agree about the PPC-X... love it, love the purple, but my god is it visually a mess.
Or... do like me. I changed the quantity of my DHS from 15 to any amount.

Can't wait for the last two arena fights because PGI fucked up the enemy ai so hard here it's crazy.
Those fights are crazy , being focused by everything is impossible, at least on my end . Can't beat it even with my best 'mech
Hide inside one of the starter boxes, wait it out, kill last enemie(s), repair, repeat
@@TTBprimeExactly how I did it. Don't really care for the bit that forces you to use the repair bay before it starts the next wave. I got Stackpoled once on the run back to my hidey hole lol
Duncan fisher lousy MechWarrior, but he must have some serious cbills stashed away to be giving away the equipment he does
17:30 MW5's shitty salvage system is a central reason I just couldn't get into it. It's one of the main mechanisms for feeling any sense of progress in the game or reward for your work and yet they completely fucked it up and still after all this time with multiple patches and expansions still haven't fixed it. No thanks.

Boring. No struggle = no excitement. Why do all the enemy mechs have stock 3029 loadouts while you get to run advanced tech? Meh.
