Hey thanks for the video, it was very informative. I recently got the airbag stolen from my honda civic 2018. I'm planning to buy a new one and install it myself. Is it just this simple to install a new airbag? Some people told me that the airbag can deploy itself, and the computer need to be reset or some nonsense I didn't understood, so they suggested to be done by a professional, but as your video goes is just plug the three cables and put the bolts in the side.
@@butt3rfiing3r I can answer that, if it was a clean removal by the thief, then you can get the air bag from eBay or a junk yard, it's usually 2 connections and 2 screws on the side of the steering wheel, but usually they rip wires and the harness have to be purchased all over again, at this point you can still do it yourself but you need some screwdrivers the average person doesn't have laying around the house, so that being said, I suggest you get the air bag from eBay or junk yard and go to your local neighborhood mechanic shop and pay them to install it for you, Good luck.
I tried pulling the plugs on the original but I notice the plastics was fuse melted I couldn’t pull them up without completely thrashing the plugs. Idk if from the accident the plastic melted they will no not pop up or pry up without destroying them in the process. Decided to call a professional airbag guy mobile he will know how to replace plugs if damage
Did you have to use a memory saver for the battery when you disconnected it? The person who stole mine cut the wires off the harness. So they're there, but I'm wondering if they could be spliced with wire nuts. Is there room for that within the assembly?
I just bought 2016 civic lx, 2 doors. Previous owner cut both driver and passenger SRS sensor wires. How do I reconnect those wires since they have the same color (light blue)? I noticed on the connector marked 1 and 2. Thanks

Yuliya Zborovskaya in a junk jard . from a car hit in the rear part so the airbag were intact. you can get it way to cheaper tan the dealer. but you have to drive a lot untill you find a place to have the same model car. and sometimes you have to pull the parts

Did you ever do this yourself? My airbag was stolen too and I'd love to do it myself vs pay the dealership thousands.

Get yourself a club antitheft device, thief will move on to the next car.
