I can recommend a Finnish movie about a metal band called Heavy Trip/Heavy Reissu. It is a comedy and a loveletter to the genre and the general community of metal. Insomnium are great, check out Marianas Rift as well, they are a bit doomier though.
No band hits you in the feels harder than Insomnium. Period. On the subject of belief system and wondering if the lyrics are religious, now read the lyrics to “the Promethean song” from this same album. Pretty atheistic.
