I thought the same thing Ryan did. There was so much more they could have done with this story. They breezed right over his life after Texas A&M. There should have been more interviews with people who played with him in Cleveland. There wasn’t even a mention of his failed comeback attempt in the CFL and AAF. It felt like it should have been much longer and in depth.

The reason he went to the CFL is because he would have had to face a public investigation from the NFL for sexual assault charges on top of a suspension. Also that would contradict him saying he didn’t love or want to play football anymore.. I don’t believe he tried to commit suicide..

I had a similar reaction after watching this episode. There was very little depth into JM's life and mind. It was all about the bright lights and the show that was Johnny Football. And there was no resolution at the end. Nothing about how he's doing now. So much so that I had to Google what he's up to. Turns out he's a pretty savvy business man who is worth about $7 mil right now with businesses and other various interests. But how he's doing as a human? Good question. No answers in this doc. Untold is generally really good...this one was lacking.

I felt the same way when I saw it. It made it look like Manziel hasn’t changed much or hasn’t fully dealt with his issues. I was shocked to see him drinking beer. I was under the impression that individuals in recovery cannot consume any of the substances they were previously addicted to. Just very bizarre. It seems he is not very far removed from the individual who was self destructing on a national stage.

I think it's clear this entire new season of UNTOLD was all a grift. They choose to cover one of the most controversial and polarizing college football athletes of all time, and they only talk to people inside his circle. We get no outside perspective of what this guy was like. They choose to cover one of the most controversial college football teams of all time and they hardly cover any of the actual controversies. It felt like the "docs" were more just ways to prop up their subjects (Johnny and Urban) without actually dissecting them and their infamy. That's just poor filmmaking.

There was soooo much they didnt touch on its crazy. I wish they wouldve went into how he felt about Drake legit championing him and then when it went left its like they just stop being cool. Its weird that they didnt touch on that because Johnny was actuall around Drake a shit ton and that also played a huge part in his fame because Drake was at his very peak at that same time so it was almost like 2 worlds really colliding. I agree no resolution to Johnny’s problems were reached. Johnny needs to reflect on where he will go next. It’s not satisfying that he will just start up a bar, continue to he a frat boy going into his 30’s and go into old age living that way. It’ll be interesting to see if he cleans up, tries again at football, or if he’ll finish his undergraduate degree at TAMU in recreation, parks and tourism sciences and find a real career or something meaningful in life. The documentary just cut off abruptly to update everyone on where he is now which really was the equivalent of telling a cool story that leads to nothing.

As bad as things we're with JM. The "Skidmark on the underwear of life" the Browns have now. Makes Johnny seem like choir boy. Cleveland deserves "Happy Endings Watson".

I think the directors of this video did a terrible job letting Ryan rant in circles. Ryan came off looking like a bigger fool than Johnny. Geez, guys, don't let you big guest speaker completely hang himself like that. Someone wake up, grab a set of balls, and do your job!

Wait Johnny talking about the ncaa is comical. Ncaa yes is the devil. But your talking about a player that comes from a shit load of money. His father flying him around in a private jet and never had to worry about money. I like johnny but come on he needs help and he just dont want it right now. Blame netflix is just bullshit. Johnny is doing the same shit and now we want a pitty party for johnny football. Again I hope he gets help but he has to want it. Mental illness is real but Johnny needs to look in the mirror and say I need help.

Well, he had similar issues and when he was drafted second behind Peyton Manning, many thought Leaf would end up being the better player.

Yeah Ryan… sometimes tragedies happen and there is no happy ending. That’s life.
