I’m so glad I found this video, I am 1 month away from surgery. A bit scared and excited all at once. I just want to feel better in general. I am so glad you took the time to let people know what to look out for in the journey. These videos have become so helpful to me! Also, one regret is not doing it 5 yrs ago when I was approved then, although initially I was going to do the bybass and I’m now doing the sleeve due to my acid reflux was corrected a few years ago by getting the magnetic linx around my esophagus. Best surgery ever! Saved me!
This is exactly what I needed. 10 months out and I’m doing all of those things I shouldn’t be doing. This smacked me in the face...in a nice way. It’s time to wake up and focus! Thanks.
10 years out and I've included so many foods I shouldn't eat. Like pretzels. I'm so addicted to them. I also stopped taking vitamins and the lack of iron has really effected me. Im now starting Barimelts for my iron and hopefully my iron levels will go up. I have a feeling its going to take a long long time. I also found out that its the tannin in coffee and tea that stops the absorption of iron. And I have to give that up. Im hurting right here. I love coffee. I found a tea that doesnt have tannin but the caffeine is still there and thats what I need. I hate that we dont asorb vitamins like everyone else. Even when you take vitamins supplements THAT isnt even asorbd like it normally should be. And that really discourages me.
How willing are you in queries? I'm about to embark upon this journey. I love this list. I could see where just about anime could do these things so it's nice to hear warnings. Thank you
Same. I’m 5 days post op. Like I miss eating something and feeling the satisfaction, the idea of only taking 3 bites and your full makes me sad... I’m having some major regrets of having it but now it’s too late. This is definitely a mental thing... so hopefully I’ll get over it :(
@@omardelossantos6617 hi. That was in my depression state back then. I feel good now. As I know now in the first month is VERY hard and mostly everyone goes through a depression state but I’m fine now. Yes I would do it again.
You are a great help Kim !!! My surgery date is now Dec 12, it was Nov 28th but my surgeon had death in his family. So I’m thinking positive and using this time to further educate myself. You are wonderful . I have my BariMelts and I’m ready to go. ❤️👏🏽👏🏽💁🏽
First couple queries. Dumping. It's that something that over time goes away or does it stay with you? Fruit. It seems I read contradictory thoughts on this. One said, fruit yes. All fresh fruit is fine. Others said it could trigger dumping? What's your experience? Btw, the is from the Roux-en-y surgery. Thank you.
I got it done. Doctor found a serious hiatal hernia on my esophagus and my stomach was sucked into it. Thankfully, this probably saved my life.
At 24+ years postoperative I still see my surgeon atleast 2xs a year. Yesterday I had my blood drawn for my surgeon to review. Take care of you.❤️
