I have to tell you, I had one person be a total JERK to my friend. She worked at one office, and listed this fellow as a reference. I called him, acting like I was a potential company, and he said terrible things about her. People should do that. Have a friend call. Beware who you list as a reference.

YES! I’m having friends call now because I’m unable to lock down a job after being interviewed and promised second interview and did not get them. I asked these employers why I was not hired one refused to talk to me had her mother lie to me and the other 2 lied straight to me said they filled the positions but would reconsider me if those people didn’t work out all bs they are looking to hire for same position I applied for so I’m being blackballed by a former supervisor who doesn’t even work there anymore but she’s local and people know her so they are skipping the company and calling her directly.

Based on my experience, you don't have to be 100 percent accurate with employment dates or history. I applied and got a job with USPS as a carrier, and my employment history dates might have been off by a couple of months for start and end dates. Everything else, however, was 100 percent accurate. My point is that if a federal agency such as USPS hires me with less than 100 percent accuracy pertaining to employment history, y'all have nothing to worry about.

Many companies will only supply dates of employment and give no reason for termination, whether you quit or were fired. If you're not sure, you can always call the HR department of your previous employer to find out what their policy is. Now, if you have to provide contact info of the manager who fired you, they may or may not adhere to company policy, and you will probably never find out.

I’m just a ball of confused right now because some are saying past employments do show up in a background check and some are saying only criminal doings show up😭
Basically, I was doing paid training from July to October (my last day was in September but they sent me a form that says “As of October 4th, you have been discharged” cause I didn’t pass the training/didn’t reach the score I needed to pass). It was 8 online training sessions and 4 field training sessions in total, but the thing is, they assigned me an employee ID number even as a trainee. I don’t want to include it in my resume, but I’m afraid it’s gonna show up in a background check. Can’t companies use our SSN to find past employment, even if we don’t include it in our resume?

Ye, I hate that. Many firms do not give the correct job title aligned with your job responsibilties. Not sure they do that on purpose to be able to underpaid you or they are just dumb and don't know what to do. Because that job title will hurt us as the employee when trying to look for a new job. Think about it. Most companies use a scanning system to scan the resume for a match and if you put associate even tho your task is in software engineer, you will be overlooked by the system and miss out the opportunity.

😲 I swear to God this has never happened to me in my life. Nordstrom Rack hired me at 10:30 a.m. over the phone this morning. I aced the interview. I was told I was hired and welcome to Nordstrom and we're sending you an email which is a welcome letter. I feel that all the requirements. And then about 2 hours later I see oh you need to fill out the talent form a background check. But this isn't just the background check okay? It is a criminal record check it is a civil record check it is a driving record check it is credit check, and it is a different company that they hire called First advantage corporation privacy policy! Keep in mind I got hired as what they call a logistics operator which is basically packing boxes and shipping them out in the warehouse! I'm in college full-time from a bachelor's degree I have an associates in science with a health information technology option associates and psychology and a medical coding certificate. I have a criminal f****** record because of the people that I chose to hang out hang out with when I was younger! I actually looked at this first advantage background thing and they even check into any drug screens that were positive like that's fine by me because you know what I f****** quit drinking I quit smoking I definitely quit recreational drugs when I was young I have a 16 year old son that just lost his father September 10th last year! And I can't get a job at a department store where I unload clothes and pocketbooks and put them on racks or load items into a box in order to send them off to ship them? it has to be this deep a f****** check? I'm serious this is a department store but it's a high-end one maybe that's why and great great great and after I was beaten up by my younger brother because I didn't come home with any money for him around midnight when he had an addiction way back when do you know what, he threw me all over the place! My son was screaming and crying my father came out he said look what you're doing to this baby and of course the father was 16 years older than me and had a heroin addiction for most of his life and I decided to go back to my dad because I did not want me and him too the dysfunctional with my son around. I had no problem with him seeing my son but my father made me get a freaking restraining order or me and the baby would be homeless. So, needless to say it isn't drugs or alcohol that that killed my soul. It's the f****** people. People have done more damage to my brain and my soul then anything could do to my body. My own family I'm telling us the end times I don't give a s*** what anyone says I know if you're going to do the restaurant thing they're not going to check but you know I'm not stupid and I can't even help people that are suffering physically because of other people's phone calls I just don't even want to get into it the more I feel this way the more I believe in Jesus Christ because I know Satan is really really doing a good job of me hate trying to hate me hate God anymore more and more this s*** happens to me in the morning persecuted for s*** that happened in the past when I know deep down inside I know I'm not a perfect woman but I know I'm not one of those f****** young s**** that only want money when all I want is a freaking roof over my head and security for my son. These days a woman has to work and that's fine I don't mind working but I didn't like working at McDonald's again like I was a teenager and I was with people that didn't women younger than me that I think they were Guatemalan or something I don't have any idea but I'll talk amongst themselves and they literally treated me like s*** s*** s*** when the f****** is doing manager was gone for a week isn't it funny that three times my cash register was short? So let's do a manager let me finish my shift until noon cuz I went in at 5:00. Brought me in the office and said I was suspended for 2 months because in exact amount of $60 was taken three times when it was taken from the register and it equals 60 f****** dollars I said I'm not signing that f****** thing f*** you you just want to be a 55-year-old first time store manager at f****** McDonald's the only God damn job you ever had I wouldn't mind but you know the woman doesn't even have a conviction on her record. I have just decided that I know that here on planet Earth I will never ever be happy. I'm tired of people saying life is what you make it cuz you can try and try and try and try and try and it never f****** happens. And then you sit there and you judge the strip of these people and they judge prostitutes that actually are addicted to drugs and those are the ones that I actually respect but the ones that do it for money I don't know how they do it I really don't know how they pull it off. They must really love their high-end pocketbooks they buy at Nordstrom or something I think that's probably why there's a background check and it just so happens that after I was beating up I ended up with this guy that was older than me like 25 years older than me and a hotel he told me that he was picking up his wife's I mean where he lived with his wife cuz she kicked him out cuz he watched too much pornography and it was with my car and he'd bring it back and it wasn't that much like a lot laptop camcorder I mean I had no idea he was bringing in a f****** houses so I told the f****** police what happened with the beating and guess what happens I get breaking it and entering in the daytime 3 f****** counts he took my f****** car I was not anywhere near where he was and I wouldn't mind but he ended up this is f****** crazy my criminology teacher's house was broken into by this mother f*****. I just I I just want to be with my cat and if it wasn't for my 16 year old son I really would like to die. I believe in Jesus Christ and I'll never deny him and I really wish that something would happen to me like someone would just shoot me in the head I mean it's getting to the point where I almost wish that Russia would bomb us I have no opportunity and then we've got that f****** people coming through the border who have clean slates and they can get this job before I do because it's a f****** clean slate of a criminal record clean slate of a driving record clean slate of a credit score free social security income it took me 13 freaking years because I had the baby and the father was a heroin addict for a long time and never had a real job I said I'll leave it in the hands of God so I have a beautiful 16 year old son who lost his father and I can't even get a f****** job at a department store that's high end! And you wonder why women end up to know you know what I'm saying I'm either going to do that at 46 years old cuz I don't look it or whatever I'm going to have to do it I don't want to do it at all I don't want to I really don't please God I really don't want to do it when is Jesus Christ going to come through for me just a little bit just a little f****** bit I think I have to die because I know Satan is ruling this world there's no f****** way he isn't

I never completed my Bachelor’s degree and I’m reluctant to state that my degree is incomplete in job applications (for obvious reasons). My resumé includes my school’s name, city, Bachelor of Arts of my area of study, but excludes the dates of attendance. So it’s a partial lie that I don’t get questioned about (so far). My question is, when they verify my education via background checks, what exactly will they see? Additionally, when getting promotions to managerial/senior roles, do they redo background checks? I’ve heard of situations where people were found out in the midst of promotions and were subsequently fired. FYI the line of work I’m pursuing doesn’t necessitate a college degree (at least according to people vlogging about the industry) although some job posts list a Bachelor’s as a requirement.

I wonder whether the vetting companies would check the experience information with the government database(like NI records)?

You can still speak to your experience without discounting it just bc you were let go!
If you've been hired since then I would focus on your most recent work experience anyways.

    Hi
I have questions do they check the resume dates which we mentioned or
They check the dates which we filled in application for background checks?
    Please reply

Application is what they will go over. Be sure you put the correct dates of employment on the job application. This to them is the legal document.

I am non-eligible for rehire at a company because I resigned during a leave of absence. Is this legal? Also, can I bypass this by reapplying with a nickname? How would they know it’s me trying to reapply?
Could I get rehired at a company that I am non-eligible for rehire at? By reapplying with a nickname or using a new email? What do they use to determine that?

Assuming you're in the U.S., they'll be able to match your SSN from your previous employment. In case you're thinking about it, don't even think of using a fake SSN, or you'll have much more to worry about than not getting the job.
