It's kinda important to remember two things: Kimble is a medical doctor, and he didn't do it. Both of those answer complaints that kept popping up. He's not going to kill anyone, it goes against his morals as a doctor (it's also why he couldn't help but help the boy). And he doesn't do things like a hood because he's basically doing the "first rule of going on the run, don't run. Walk" thing. The rest is because it's a movie and they always contrive to keep their leading mans face shown more.
“That’s what he gets for eating that old man’s sandwich.” “Harrison Ford’s running from U.S. marshals...wearing a cardigan.” “Harrison Ford’s running like your granddad from the house, to the car, in the rain.” Just EXCELLENT! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
The story about "The Fugitive" was based on a real-life incident in which Dr. Sam Sheppard was convicted of murdering his wife circa 1954. It was first a TV presentation during the 60's and then the story was later produced as a film.
The movies creators would argue that. They said specifically that they did not take inspiration from Sam Shepard, although the story is obviously very similar, so they most likely did and didn’t want to share any royalties lol
"What I want from each and every one of you is a hard-target search of every gas station, residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse, and doghouse..." Fun Fact: The wrecked train and bus remain a tourist attraction in Dillsboro, North Carolina. Practical Effects Fact: A train was actually crashed for the movie, although Kimble jumping free was a superimposed image. Ford stood on a platform in front of a bluescreen and jumped off onto a cushion. Fugitive Ford Fact: The scene where Kimble is running through the St. Patrick's Day parade was not scripted. This was a later addition by Andrew Davis. Davis, a native of the city, really wanted to capture the parade and was granted permission from the mayor's office to film the day of the parade. The entire sequence was shot with a hand-held steady cam. Without rehearsal, Ford and Jones just went out into the crowd and did their thing, with camera operators running around trying to keep up. Ford observed that since his character was keeping a low profile, it meant he himself didn't stand out much and lasted several minutes in the crowd before being recognized.
Great reaction, again. I knew you’d get into this one, too. Another really good Harrison Ford movie is “Regarding Henry” (1991). Kind of a tearjerker, though. One of my favorite Tommy Lee Jones movies is “The Park Is Mine” (1986). It’s one of those movies that you can’t help but to get drawn into. It’s a forgotten gem, and definitely worth watching! Keep up the good work, my friend!
Love seeing people discover this classic. Great reaction! Tommy Lee Jones won Best Supporting Actor Oscar for this, I believe, and deserved it. Harrison Ford did a great job too.
The exterior shots for the dam scene is the Cheoah Dam in North Carolina...I've been there once, because it appeared briefly in another movie I love called "Two-Lane Blacktop." Towards the end of that movie, James Taylor drives past the Cheoah Dam in a '55 Chevy. That very same '55 Chevy was also used a few years later in George Lucas' "American Graffiti," driven in the movie by...Harrison Ford. :D
😂😂 My mom has one arm, she's won any fight she was in and could also beat our asses in the backseat while she was driving. Always managed to get all of us and not kill us all 😂
I remember the actor who played the one armed hitman was Andreas Katsulas who was best known for his role of the Narn ambassador G’Kar on Babylon 5 series
This was one of those movies that I thought wasn't going to be any good because it was based on an old TV show. I loved watching The Fugitive on television when I was around seven or eight years old. Boy was I wrong and I'm glad I went to the cinema to see it, just for the train crash alone. The acting in this movie is so good but what else would you expect from a cast like this and I do mean everybody. I agree with you JL that if it came down to jumping from that tunnel or getting arrested, jail here I come. Also, if anyone killed my wife I would turn into The Hulk, Captain American and Anton Chigurh all in one, and wo betide the one armed man or whoever.
There is also a sequel with the same US marshalls with different fugitives. Wesley Snipes and Robert Downey Jr stars in it, it's called US marshalls I think.
The reason he runs awkwardly at the end is because he injured his leg when it got caught in the door running out of the prison. That was a real injury sustained by Harrison Ford doing that fall (you can see the awkward angle his leg gets twisted into when it happens), and he opted not to have it treated (and keep the limp) until after filming wrapped.
"Dr. Kimble! What are you doing here? Ain't you wanted for murder? Damn it dude, I already know I'm going to be randomly thinking about that tomorrow at work and I will bust out laughing again.
It’s Chicago-the druggie guy snitched for a hot dog, not a burrito. Italian Beef would have been more iconic, but not as believable since they are pricier. This is one of the best Chicago films, up there with The Blue Brothers, both making excellent use of the non-touristy neighborhoods.
I love this movie. I captures the spirit of the show perfect. This was an excellent time at the movies in the summer of 1993. I went back a second time because it was so great.
You know the part where he jumps off the dam? That's called Cheoha dam and it's on a road known as The Tail of the Dragon in Deals Gap, NC/TN. It's astonishing to come out of oaks onto a bridge with that massive dam looming over you! It's also where they filmed the movie Deliverance lol.
In the beginning, his wife was trying to call out to Richard because she heard him come in. Instead it came off as her incriminating him. That's my take anyway brother.
"When he was born he was fourty" had me in stitches 😂 another brilliant and funny reaction. Gota say in my opinion i like the second film better than this altough i enjoy this film greatly.
She wasn't answering the 911 operator at that point. She wasn't able to. She had been bashed in the head, & suffered serious brain trauma. She was calling out to her beloved husband, while in the throes of death. "Richard - (help me) he's trying to kill me." THAT'S what she was TRYING to say. THAT'S what she MEANT.
Harrison Ford plays "frantic" really well. His Jack Ryan movies are pretty much the same thing - him running around and chasing or escaping his enemies. And always entertaining!
One of my all-time favorite movie facts is in the scene in the Dam tunnel when Harrison Ford has Tommy Lee dead to rights with the gun. In the original script, Ford says, "I didn't kill my wife." Tommy is supposed to say, "That's not my problem," according to one of the film's producers. During filming on set, Tommy instead says the Iconic line, "I don't care." In doing so, the audience knows exactly who his character is and his motivations. He isn't there to pass judgment or punishment; he is there to do the job of catching fugitives. It also makes the scene at the end when he uncuffs Ford in the back seat and tells him, "Don't tell anyone ok." It is just one of many moments in movie history where an actor makes a slight character change that vastly improves the film.
I've always thought there was something sexy about Tommy Lee Jones. He was ruggedly handsome in his youth and around this time. I'm new around these parts. I'm just wondering are your doggies on Ambien? I've never seen such chilled out fur babies.
1. Tommy Lee Jones's roommate in college was Al Gore. 2. Jones also said he's never had a part he didn't love, AND he doesn't have a job. Just a hobby that pays very well. 3.An overlooked movie with Ford is "Witness". It shows his woodworking skills. 4. Note: Before he acted full time he (Ford) was a roadie carpenter for the Grateful Dead, 5. My favorite Tommy Lee Jones movie is, "Under Siege".
Start of week 4 without my co pilot. Jay, your videos lift my spirits and help me to keep going. Thanx brother! Give the co pilots a belly rub for me. God Bless
Maaannn this is awesome! My mom used to tell me all the time for whatever reason this was my favorite movie growing up 😂 I’m sure I had no clue what the gravity of the shit was but she said I loved it
There's an uncorroborated story about Ford - supposedly, one of his first major interviews for a role was with a huge Hollywood bigshot who bragged that he could "see" talent, that "I gave (some celebrity) his first real acting job, playing a bellhop in (famous movie), and I knew right then and there, that kid was a star!" ...at which Ford couldn't help but snark "Wasn't he supposed to be a bellhop?" He didn't get work as an actor again until George Lucas put him in American Graffiti.
My grandfather never missed an episode of the TV version of The Fugitive. He passed away before this movie came out, but I think that he would've wholeheartedly approved. Personally, I wholeheartedly approve of your reaction to the movie. 😊 ❤
Liking before watching cause I know I'm gonna love it. I like the next one U.S. Marshals 1998 even more because it has Tommy Lee Jones(who I L❤️VE...Lonesome Dove is my Favorite) & Robert Downey Jr❤️ Also Wesley Snipes & Joe Pantoliano(Goonies & Baby's Day Out❤️he is so Good in Everything)
There is another movie featuring Tommy Lee Jones doing this character called US Marshalls. It's not really a sequel because it features totally different case. Wesley Snipes is also in it.
Love the hoodie! My husband got me a Justin Tucker jersey for Christmas 2 years ago. We're Washington fans first, but the Ravens have always been our AFC team. Plus, I refused to own any merch when they were under the name Washington Football team. I LOVE this movie! Saw it in the theater when I was 16. Al ways been a Harrison Ford fan but even I have to admit Tommy Lee Jones earned the Oscar for his supporting role.
While we're suggesting good Harrison Ford movies, check out _Clear and Present Danger_ where he plays a CIA consultant trying to pin down foreign threats; it's a soft sequel to _Hunt for Red October_ but different actors and unrelated story so pretty standalone.
Hi Hun. This used to be a TV series back in 1963 - lasted about 5 years before he finally found the one arm guy and the show ended. :) Kiss the puppies.
I love this movie as well as the original show from the 60’s. This one summarized the point of the original show and gave us a good ending. The show had a little bit of a different ending. Thank you for reacting to some real quality movies. You react to a good mix of movies and you never disappoint. 🍻
All the way until i was 20, I hitch hiked my way around. There was only 1 sketchy ride.. one that I could count my blessings that I made it out of that car. I"m pretty lucky, i think. Nobody I knew but me, hitch hiked; although I had a couple friends that went along with me, when I went hitch hiking.. lol. that was probably the only time they did it. xo
Great reaction my friend! And GREAT freaking movie! Perfect non-stop thriller, adventure! Can't wait for you to react to more 80s and 90s classics! May I suggest Burnt Offerings from 1976- very campy/scary and pretty much an underrated cult classic!
Harrison Ford has always been well beyond just 'Han Solo'- He's also done other characters in movies like: 'Witness', 'Air Force One' and of course in the 'Indiana Jones' movie franchise- he's in fact, my favorite actor.
Regarding the dam, I think the idea was that he would land in the flow and kinda ride it, as opposed to the impact of clearing the wall and landing all the way down. But yeah, the water pressure from the waterfall probably would have obliterated his stitch job for sure
Oh Tommy Lee Jones can totally get it! Course I’m old enough to vaguely remember the fugitive series on tv lol You should see him in Under Siege when you get a chance.
"He's putting two and two together real quick. I'm over here stuck on one." You're the best!
“Running like a granddad from the car in the rain”. Omg that was genius!!! Another home run reaction. 👏 👏
"My man is running from the U.S. Marshals....in a cardigan" LOLL!
Love this man, love his reactions! Protect this man at all costs people💯💯💯
" Shut Up! "

To this day, this movie is amazing. Also, make sure to watch "US Marshals".
“Richard, he’s trying to kill me.” “He’s trying to kill me” and she’s saying it to Richard.
“That’s what he gets for eating that old man’s sandwich.”
“Harrison Ford’s running from U.S. marshals...wearing a cardigan.”
“Harrison Ford’s running like your granddad from the house, to the car, in the rain.”

RUN HAN! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
Harrison Ford is also a Chicago native. My father went to high school with him. And one of my neighbors was an extra in the movie.
Great reaction, again. I knew you’d get into this one, too. Another really good Harrison Ford movie is “Regarding Henry” (1991). Kind of a tearjerker, though. - “He a doctor, he ain’t broke”

It was a movie based on a TV show based on an episode of - of all things - Get Smart, which was pretty much the Archer of its time.
Awww the babies wanted treats and a scratch
LOL "That's what he gets for eatin' that old man's sandwich".

Harrison Ford was running like Danny Glover there at the end.😂😂
I love your comment that the doctor got karma for eating the old man's sandwich!

Great reaction! Hope you do the fugitive 2, it's called, U.S. Marshalls, it has Tommy lee Jones and his crew chasing Welsey Snipes!

She's calling for Richard for help saying "Richard, he's trying to kill me" not saying him as the killer.
Have you watched Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan in any of those movies yet? I highly recommend Patriot Games
Love this movie so suspenseful! I highly recommend The Client with Tommy Lee Jones it's really good!
Such a good movie!
Truly love this movie Harrison Ford is the man

What he gets for stealing that old man’s sandwich.
18:36 first time I heard the word hinky was this movie and I've been using it ever since 😆
