Nintendo Power magazine. When my friend said to me he will get the Sega 32X soon, I just received the magazine with a VHS taped to show the game Donkey Kong Country.
Although the disk system was a huge sound upgrade for the SNES/SFC, I'm glad it didn't become standard over flash carts. If floppy disk where standard over flash cart, the price of SNES/SFC games now would be 10x's higher. The floppy disk just wouldn't last, it would be sketchy as hell buying them second hand, hard to test, hard to repair, hard to store and super easy to accidently erase or destroy with magnetization. Flash carts are just superior in every way.
@@SHINdanny I can't speak for that specific game copier device, but many magicoms can play enhancement chip games if you have any game with the same chip slotted in.
Hey, Top Hat Gaming Man. Since you already did a video on the global launch of the Super Nintendo, how about a video on the global launch of the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive?
Sad to see a history of consumer friendliness be so utterly and ruthlessly abandoned by modern Nintendo... I guess this only extended to their Japanese customer base in the first place but now they aren't friendly to any of their customers regardless of region... really sad.
I've got like a dozen "SF Memory Cassette" cartridges in my collection... They're super cool. 😌 In addition to blank labels to write on, players could get full color printed labels of the title screens of the games. Though there were also rather more elaborate 'bespoke' labels for games which take up a whole cartridge, like _Fire Emblem: Thracia 776._ (Thracia is pronounced with a hard C, btw. It's written with the katakana 'ki') It's a shame they never utilized the additional ROM footprint on the PCB... It'd be cool to have a 48mbit cart. (I haven't gotten around to soldering another ROM on one of mine and seeing if the mapper ASIC can even use the extra space without new firmware or something.) It's cool having official Nintendo flash cartridges though, especially when one _also_ has the tools to rewrite them. 😉

I really miss the days of gaming magazines and demo discs. 😢

Thanksgiving left overs and then some Top Hat makes this holiday weekend *chefskiss*
I had a double pro fighter in the 90s was able to play all genesis and snes games off disks. Had all new games before release. What memories
also those with FX chips like Mario Kart, Star Fox, Virtua Racing, ... ?

@chadbrick67 I have fond memories of playing the fan translation of Final Fantasy V on real hardware in 1998 thanks to my Super Wild Card. 😌
Not often I see hardware I’m not particularly familiar with.
