Another way was to slightly lift up on the corner of your actual cartridge in the n64. You lift up slow until link glitches and he will go right past pokey into the tunnel. Once it happens push the cartridge back down and your game will continue like normal.

Back in the day it was called the cartridge trick. U slightly lifted up the left side of the cart which would cause the game to distort and u would glitch right thru. If u did it wrong the game would crash so it took the slightest of movements.
@@the1.87 I totally used to do this, and it would make a bunch of other stuff weird too like I think the temple of time had all 3 stones in it but a closed door of time
You can also lift the left side of the cartridge slowly until the game starts to glitch and that will allow you to clip through him and walk through the door.
U can also carefully lift the left side of the cartridge slightly out of the 64 you will glitch through him and push the cart back in. I remember doing it 20 years ago 😂
I remember as a kid I wanted to see if I could get past and I rolled past him on the Wii virtual console, it was probably a frame perfect roll or something of the sort because I vividly remember getting past and then dying after I didn’t have a shield or sword to defend myself against the zombies.
Everybody nowadays has their Bomb Hovers and clips. Back in my day you had to actually grab the cartridge and make it go crooked to do any of this. And we had to walk both ways in the snow to do it.
I remember. The glitched sounds made while tilting left or right side up slowly would be affected by the room/area's reverb effects, magnifying the scare factor.
I used to have a haunted smash Bros 64 that was perma tilted. Luigi would randomly explode (just Luigi). sudden death would occur without warning, and the starfox arwing would show up on every level. It was great.
On the n64, you could pull the cartridge out a bit on one side, and it would allow you to get passed. Provided you were lucky enough to avoid crashing the game. 😂
Been Knowing this trick for years. But hey. It's new to some people. Just give credit to the original person who made the glitch. PS. It works in OoT3D as well.

On the N64 version, you could lift up the right side of the cartridge slightly and the console would lose some of the data of the game and it would allow you to clip through almost any barriers in the game. I know because I did it back in the day after discovering the trick on TH-cam.

Also weirdly I think this skipped all the kid dungeons and you would trigger the Ganondorf cutscene as you approached castle town?? and then the temple of time had all 3 stones in it??? but I remember something was janky about it like the door still wouldn't open

There is a method where you physically pull on side (I can’t remember which) of your game cartridge up from the slot on your N64 and it allows you to clip through him and other characters and such, but it has the potential to corrupt your save. I did it as a kid.
