Dude- you are one of the best out there on-line. I have noticed a few times that you do some moves a little differently than I have learned over the past 20 years but your technique is smooth and you are SHARP. I love your instruction on the Naihanchi forms among others. I am a Sam Dan in Tang Soo Do and I never really worked on perfecting these forms until I saw your videos. I frequent your content and it has helped improve my technique. Thank you. If someone is harshly critical of you they have to be jealous. Tang Soo!
I don't do TSD or karate, but I actually enjoy your channel! Great teaching, great attitude really good insights and you move really well. I enjoy watching any really good teacher teach their art, even if I don't train it. --And that's the great thing about social media. The bad thing, as you know, is that it has produced a VAST number of people who are very, very opinionated and have very little or zero experience actually training. It always seems the comments section of just about any random martial arts related TH-cam video is the largest collection of martial arts experts ever assembled. Keep doing what you're doing!
I think karate and Tang sudo are excellent traditional martial arts! My big issue is everyone's making demonstration videos of them doing their crisp kata routines without explanation of why the movements are the way they are and that just pisses me off to no end! When I was a child I studied ITF style Taekwondo and went through form after form after form and when I asked my instructors why we were doing the movements and what they meant they became offended and I was looked at as being disrespectful? I just wish martial arts instructors would start giving explanations and logical reason to the traditional movements instead of teaching dance routines for the love of God! Seriously if you go to a boxing gym you know what a jab is and you know what a Jab is for and then you learn the right cross and you learn what the right cross is for! The same with wrestling you learn what a double a takedown is for after drilling the movement why does karate and other Far East Asian Styles still have to have this beautiful Kata rendition with no explanation to their paying customers? Seriously that is why traditional martial arts studios are failing because they're not providing practical self-defense Behind These movements! Tell your students why they're doing what they're doing before they get their nose broken and laughed at❤ and this is not a finger pointed at you sir I love your channel I am speaking out against other organizations in general
Kata does not save lives! These beautiful forms should not be thrown away they should be preserved but they should also be explained god dammit! Nobody has time and money to spend and waste on bulshit routines without explanation! If the traditional Arts are to survive there needs to be a change!
Hello sir I've commented on your nahanchi I I'm also a sardan in tangsoo do but I trained in shotokan first some 40 years ago and I am in my class moderating the forms between the to styles because I don't think the tangsoo do that I know change a lot of forms to far away from the actual bunhai that a lot of masters I know understand the practical applications of the pinnar systems you are a good and intresting martial artist and I love most your forms but the nabachin forms should be practiced the Japanese way you carry on and don't lett any criticism get you down your good for the Internet world of martial arts tangsoo
