i’m only 13 but my dream job is being a nicu nurse. i love everything about the hospital and nurses and everything of that sort. you inspire me so much💕
How are you not scared of hospitals? Hospitals scare me to death I can throw a meltdown literally if someone tries to make me go visit someone in the hospital I will always demand that they let me stay in the main lobby on the first floor
@@cass9943 because when I was little I broke my femur and my mon took me to the er she worked at but they sent me by ambulance to the childrens hospital in oklahoma city and it caused alot of trauma for me and also I had a stroke a few days after that happened so I also have autism
Hi! Can you do a sit down talk about what NICU nurses do and all that? I’m planning on being a nicu nurse and going to college this fall for it! Thank you!
Hey iam from Austria near Vienna. I am also a nurse since 1994 but for adults. I made so many night shifts o good I like your pop corn machine😁 I want to say thank you for your great work!! Your third baby was 9 weeks on Nicu (preemie 24plus5).now she is healthy and everything is wonderful. This was the most hardest time in my life but without the wonderful calm nurses on Nicu that would went so good. Thank you. 🙏
The ember mug is the best!! I can literally sip on a cup of coffee for a few hours and it keeps it the perfect temp for that long! An investment but worth it to me!
ive wanted to be a NICU nurse since i was 13!! maybe you can help me out with decision i’m having trouble making, so i’m trying to decide if i should go to mvctc for pre nursing and take college classes on top of going there which could be a lot bc i play sports too or if i should stay at my home school and take college classes and if i do that then by my senior year i can be taking nothing but college classes and i can get a lot of my general education out of the way. if you could help me that would be great!! which path do you think would be the best to take for my career and education?
I worked 3 12hour shifts when I was in the NICU. I actually just changed jobs at the beginning of the year and now I work 5 8hour shifts! Different places have different shift requirements!
@@taylorpody8592 Really? Thats great! I was thinking of becoming a Medical Diagnostic Sonographer but realized that I love babies too much and they're my passion. The only thing that was really holding me back was the 3 12hour shifts that I could work in my first years but I really plan to become a mother in the future. I'm so glad to hear that there's jobs that have 5 8hour shifts!
@@taylorpody8592 Amazing! Just one last question, How many years of schooling did it take? I looked online but they're all pretty vague. (You don't have to answer)

Hi! If you do one of these videos again could you possible focus on your NICU routine? Like maybe make a fake brain and take us through a typical day?
When covid wasnt a thing did you still have to wear masks all the time since you are in the nicu?
Nope. Just if a patient was on contact precautions that required them!
how many shifts do you work a week? im doing research on this career!
