Hey guys! In today's vlog about the life of a flight attendant I am going to recurrent training/ continuing qualifications/ whatever you want to call it lol it's called different things at different airlines. I am not certain if all airlines are the same when It comes to this, so as a disclaimer this is just for the airline that I work for. There’s not a lot of videos that shows the training center. Carrie can you make a video about training and what to expect/know. There’s a lot of videos out there that talks about studying and studying tips and what not but I mean things that you don’t really think about like bring quarters for laundry, you have to bring food or money for food for lunch because lunch is not free, what to do on days off, how to make the best of training, things like that. It’s like little things you don’t really think about because the major things is studying and getting your wings. When I went to training for my company, it’s these small thing that I wished I knew
Oh my gosh watching that brought back memories! I was in 91-30 and some things never change. That staircase, the bar and pool should never leave. Congratulations on your first ept's as we called them, and fly safe!
Do you find it difficult to support yourself with FA pay when first starting out on the airline??
I was in class 90-38. I'm glad they are keeping the staircase ❤ We stayed in a hotel in Arlington the first two weeks of training due to lack of space, but I stayed up those stairs in that hall during training. So glad you took me back for a look see 😊 I went to BOS out of training.

Most flight attendants normally date pilots or other flight attendants since they can normally pick up trips together.
She has said she has a boyfriend.

I have a family member who works in the building of the tiny crew store where the training facility is. 😭 it’s like I was there because I go there a lot! I saw the training facility all deconstructed and everything as well the last time I was there which was a few weeks ago. We call it Annual or Annual Training and if you’re coming back after mat leave or any leave where you would have been gone long enough miss your Annual it’s called Requal.

im petrified of flying because of turbulence. any tips for dealing with that?
tia piotrowski turbulence is 99.9% nothing more than an inconvenience and annoyance to passengers. I’ve known many ATC’s and pilots whom have never encountered turbulence being so serious that it put lives at risk. There are several other things that can go wrong way way way over a problem due to turbulence. (Also not likely). Flying is so much safer than driving in a car and yet people do that without fear on a daily basis! Xo

Random questions: who typically gets specific and less popular flights? Like for example, my hometown, Louisville KY, it doesn't fly very many paces, and flights that do go there don't go as frequently as other routes. Would that go to people who have seniority or are those for the newest attendants? Also are there flight attendants based in smaller cities like that, or do they only let you be based in bigger destinations?
matthew clark airlines usually don’t have bases in small cities so if you were to become a flight attendant you would commute to or move to a base city.

Ok-i am older and not up the all technology, but I have a question for anyone. Do you have to have to purchase WiFi to watch things on your phone such as ABC,NBC, Netflicks??? I see so many watching stuff and I get get anything!! Thank you😊
Yes, you have to purchase WiFi, it’s usually like $5-$8. But you should get to watch free tv if you go to the main website and connect to the internet through your settings. You can also view your flight stats like the altitude, how long you have left and where you are.

If you could move to any city, where would it be?
If you work an international flight, is it required that you know the language of the country your flying to? (If they speak another language) Or do they only put flight attendants who speak multiple languages on international flights?
Sara Touffahi no. However the airline is required to have a certain amount of crew that is fluent in the native language (usually two flight attendants)
