Man when Michael Jackson died, I did not handle it well. Also when Whitney died and now Prince its crazy. Makes you realized these extraordinary people are not immortal... they are human and they do get sick and they do have their own battles. They will be forever missed, but never forgotten.

Girl I feel the same way. I have not processed his death either. He was the soundtrack of my childhood. I wasn't ready.
Ceej looked like he was doing CrossFit with that Fridge!!! Personality for days~! LOL
Oh my goodness! The way Ceej stopped what he was doing and looked at you when you said you were crying! He was like, "you cried...that's not good." that was soo sweet and precious. Little children are so affected when they connect with their parents emotional state. He was so concerned.

So true. You never are promised tomorrow. I never thought that after my father passed in 2012 on my parents anniversary that my mother would be diagnosed with stage 3c ovarian cancer two years later. The main person that stood by me, supported me, and gave so much love is gone. We talked on the phone every day several times a day, spent so much time together and she was a wonderful grandmother to all of my children. She said she wasn't going until I had my 6th baby and was told that it was impossible for her to live until his birth. Well, I had my first premature baby 2 1/2 months early, my mom saw a beautiful picture of her grandson, and she passed away 12 days later. I buried my mom last week Friday and I am devastated to where I can't explain how I'm feeling, but trying to accept that she isn't here. I can't believe Prince is gone and that both of my parents are gone so soon and within four years. They both were close to Prince's age when they passed. R.I.P Prince. R.I.P. mom & dad.
Man I'm sorry to hear that about your parents. My mom passed away December 12 from ovarian cancer as well and it seriously broke my heart because we/she found out she had it two days after my birthday which was October 17 and within that two month time period she was gone. Gabe couldn't have said it any better when she said life isn't promised. Keep your head up Nykesha.
Thank you! I'm sorry about your loss as well. I'm doing my best. Ovarian cancer is a beast. My mom lived 2 years after being diagnosed which some of her doctors thought was a miracle in itself because she had the aggressive form & it had metastasized to her abdomen by the time it was discovered. My parents loved their grandkids and all they want is for them to be okay. My mom had said she know I'm a strong woman and had faith that I would make it through and live on for myself and my children. She always told everyone how proud she was to have me as a daughter & I always said how proud I was to have her as a mom. Lol! Knowing that make me want to fight even more to get through this, but it is the hardest thing that I've had to overcome.
Gabe I feel you about Prince. I was so devastated when I heard the news. I have been posting so many prince songs and pics on facebook. Him singing with Mary J., Beyonce and who ever else I could find. I'm just so sad about his death. I loved the way Ceej stopped talking in mid sentence when he heard his mother say she cried.
I'm sad that Prince is gone. I wasn't sad the first day I learned of his passing, but it hit me on the following day. I've been jammin to his music every day. I feel like I lost a relative.

Yes, the news of Prince's passing rock my core, felt like Michael Jackson's passing all over again!! I had to leave work early because it affected me so much!! It's so surprising to me that someone I don't personally know has this affect on me.

Prince was in Toronto a couple months ago and I'm so sad I never went to see him. I'm only 20, but I grew up dancing and one of the songs I danced to was Baby I'm a star and I feel in love ever since. RIP to a legend ! Btw, Gabe, you have such a beautiful face such natural beauty, you are gorgeous girl!

I got chills while you were talking because Adore is my favorite song of his. Just Monday, my boyfriend played Adore and we sang it to each other and we were like, "These lyrics are amazing." I told him that I wanted to see him in concert and had hoped that we would go. I have spent the past couple of days all up in his Twitter feed, reading all of the fabulous reviews of his Piano and a Microphone concerts and I am just speechless. Prince was like NO other. He played 50 million instruments, wrote lyrics like no other, sang with an amazing range, and could arrange, and produce his music. I am so, so sad. This seems surreal.

I have never been a Prince fan, however the way he passed is sad I always thought Prince was weird and full of himself, I attended one of his concerts and I was so disappointed, the seats were great but I guess he had a bad night( it happens) later I read many articles that he was not a nice person, I was not shocked, Wendy Williams stated that Prince called her at 2am one morning to meet him at the club???????????? I could not believe Prince was that tacky but worse she went to meet him, that confirmed my opinion of him, he was a delusional ,womanizing MYSOGINIST, however he can't unless you let him.

It's such a loss of an amazing musical talent. I am from Minneapolis originally and actually met Prince through friends of mine and he had such a presence about him. Being in New Zealand now it was really hard to believe, because I feel so far removed. I totally feel you Gabe when you say you think it's hoax or something. He just played here in Auckland about 2 months ago and he sold out in a half an hour. He is a worldwide legend that's for sure. RIP Prince

I thought the devastating news would be that they lost their new house. But it was that Prince died, still sad.
1)Prince has been my mom's favorite artist since childhood. She was so in shock yesterday. She had ended up getting sick at work and going home early and she didn't know he had died. I had to call and tell her. She thinks her getting sick (which is rare; I'm 20 and I've only seen her sick a handful of times) was God's way of letting her know her Prince was gone.
2) Ceej climbing the fridge had me cracking up! He's going to be athletic!
