Haha great review dude! I actually worked at Lake Compounce this past season in Root of all Evil, so I’m glad you enjoyed the event as a whole! Root of all Evil did have some very frustrating technical issues this year. Apparently the circuits which controlled the emergency stop button were left out in the open and exposed to the elements, often causing the mechanism to trigger randomly throughout the run from anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour, often delaying openings compared to other houses. Also, the weather this year was terrible, I don’t think a single weekend has all 3 days it was supposed to run for and us as scare actors aren’t even given the notice that work was canceled until very last minute (we’re typically supposed to arrive there from 3:30-4:30, so that everyone can get decent makeup by the time the event opens at 6) It was certainly not perfect, but I very much enjoyed my time working here scaring people plus I met some very great people there! Hope to see you sometime this year!
@@CanobieCoaster Yes, the fog was troubling and at times got so thick to where it was a hazard and both actors and guests couldn’t see in front of them.
If you haven't been this year, the two lanes for the front and back half of the train have been removed. The park lets just enough people into the station to fill the next train (so Speedy Pass users have a short wait). There is a separate queue for the front. They let you wait in it as long as there's enough people to fill all other rows.
Great Video! Interested in hearing your thoughts about Canobie’s Screeemfest- I’m thinking about going this year but having been in about 5 years, I’ve heard good things about the event for the past few years
Really? That's wild. Good for you, enjoy yourself. That museum looks pretty cool too. Just hell of a trip for that, ha. You done Halloween Horror Nights?
I wish I could get a Boulder Dash night ride, but summer is the only time that makes sense for me to visit that region, when most places are open every day. But this does seem like a great Halloween event, even though those aren't really my thing, other than being able to get night rides. I'm getting my Palace platinum pass through Adventureland. Will that get free parking at Lake Compounce? It wasn't made clear whether parking at other parks was included; only admission was stated.
I have the Platinum Pass through Compounce and they do list parking at all the parks as included. Because Compounce is my home park I can't guarantee yours will work, but it should.
I think the clown atop the Drum Circus ride (at 05:52) is more terrifying than the clowns in the scare zone! 😂. Thanks for sharing. This event looks pretty good, especially by Palace Entertainment standards!
Palace Entertainment has always done well on Halloween events for quite a while Kennywood’s version wich is where the name of this one comes from has been reconsidered as one of the best in the country I believe ranking in 3rd place in 2019, and with the improvements made to malice makeing it into malice Unleahed at Kennywood’s I think makes Kennywood’s one back on top again with there amazing other haunts also being very good and nice! If you can you should check out the original now called Phantom Fall Fest at Kennywood
Looking forward to getting a Lake Compounce Season Pass this year! It's my home park and the last time I was there was in 2014! Been going to bigger parks like Six Flags and Hershey lately but I do miss Lake Compounce as I grew up going there and think its rather an underappreciated park. Definetly a CT tradition just like Kennywood is for Pittsburg!!
My partner wanted to leave early but had agreed that we would stay just past sundown so I could ride Boulder Dash at night. I was also there that day, and it was my first, second, and third time on the coaster. We had planned for my partner to ride it because it seemed non-threatening enough to them (they have only ever been on seven dwarfs mine train and it was traumatizing) then I went on it in the daylight and it felt crazy intense. I was in the back, which was a mistake. I got the front row at night, so amazing. I really hope they install titan track in the highly forested section, I'm all bruised up.
Glad to here you liked it and I’m glad to here place is doing good in bringing Kennywood’s Halloween event over to some of there other parks! From what I can see I still think Kennywood’s version and or the original is better and likely more scarier sense other than the name change and added day time portion Kennywood’s one have been going on sense 2001/2002 and has lots of great haunts and scare zones that from what I can tell look better or at least less temporary with maybe higher set designs, but I’m glad to here the phantom fall fest copies are doing well for the other parks! If you can travel and experience it I would suggest everyone watching to go check out the original over at Kennywood but glad to hear this version also seems pretty good!
I worked in Roots of All Evil last year and it was a shit show. The park hired some random lady to write a script and they wanted us to stick to it but we kind of abandoned it quick. I was in a room with a bunch of cadavers as an infected scientist. I found this plastic cannister and everyone come in saying "one of these bodies is gonna jump up"...but nope I was BETWEEN the bodies and I would slam the cannister on the ground and send people running in all directions...management told me to stop. Isnt scaring people the point? We had alot of issues with drunks groping our actors last year...many who were underaged girls. That was a huge issue in our house. The Malice house was a giant cluster of personal between staff last year. Probably another reason its better this year. But I didnt do it this year cuz I only did it cuz i thought itd be fun. I have a real job and dont need the money so if its not fun there's not even a point to do it sadly. We were mostly just cold and miserable lol
@CanobieCoaster Have you been to Screemfest this year yet? Went 2 weeks ago and it was according to my friends that are there alot "the most packed we have EVER seen the park"
I'd love to ride Boulder Dash at night! I remember my first time going on a night ride of The Beast as a kid and it changed everything! Now I seek them out whenever i can find them, and having more haunted scare nights at parks helps the cause! Hooray October 🎃🎢

That makes sense why Root of All Evil had so many issues. I'm guessing that's why they may have dialed back the fog for my run-throughs.
@@CanobieCoaster Yes, the fog was troubling and at times got so thick to where it was a hazard and both actors and guests couldn’t see in front of them.
Boulder Dash is a bucket list night ride.
As it should.
Is that a new front row queue for boulderdash? 8:45 Because I can see the addition of speedy pass merge at the back of the station and a little change

They have changed quite a few of the haunts since I was last there, so I don't think I'll be able to make a review that's timely for the season.
As a person from Southern California I'm so excited for this, basically going to New England for this and Mass Moca next week.

I do not know. When I had a Palace Platinum Pass, Lake Compounce was my home park. I had to pay at some parks, but not others.

You should go to and review The Foresaken Lands in Goshen. It's only it's second year and has a 4.9 rating from 52 people. It's a great haunt
If I'm in the area, I'll check it out.
Going there this coming Sunday. 😁
