I didn't get a chance to go on the Wildcat but I went on the other 3. I would say the Boulder Dash was the most enjoyable, but the Zoomerang had the most adrenaline. I found it to be a little bit scarier than the Phobia.
@@donovanmcnamara2471 wow heard phobia is fire but isn’t that the scariest coaster in the park technically? Never been to lake compounce Boulder dash will easily take the #2 spot wooden coaster once I ride it, I like to unbuckle the seatbelts on tamer woodies but el toro that’s a literal deathwish the lap bar alone barely holds you in
I’m going to lake compounce on like the 13th or 14th of this August I think, with my best friend who I haven’t seen since September, and she’s making me go on all of them. TwT help me
Did anyone like the Boulder Dash? Does it hurt and or is it painful?? I am new to rollercoasters and would never try the WildCat or anything at all. But the Boulder Dash look more straight and flat. No twisting and no major drops.
Boulder Dash is like a mine train ride and not an airtime coaster. There is one serious pop of air in the middle. It's really fast and a little rough but that's the point. There are no twist sections but there is a major lateral halfway through. It's a big girl coaster for sure. Wildcat was built in 1927 for what it's worth.
@jonathanwpressman You are straight lying to this poor woman. Airtime is sought after though and boulderdash has ALOT of it. The crest of almost every hill gives airtime. But that feels wonderful. I will not lie she has become rough over the years. It's bareable though and adds to the feeling of being out of control. Imo. Start with zoomerang. It's the tamest ride in the park. Smoth and the only forces are positive gs. Then hop on phobia. It's very smooth and is an absolute airtime machine. It's also very short. Short smooth and forcefull. Now once wildcat reopens with new track it my be OK again. But even if it's smooth the layout is sort of boring. Not alot of force. Good for the historical value of course so if the reviews are good give it a shot. But now it's boulderdash. Again I will not lie. That ride scares me more than anything else in the park not including sky coaster(lots of fun btw). But by God is it the best kind of fear. It has the most aggressive base layout of any woody I have ever been on. It's not kiddos first coaster but if you're ready give it a go. I would recommend doing it before it gets to much rougher. That's my thoughts on the parks main attractions.
Nothing against rides like Phobia or Zoomerang in their own right (and disclaimer, I haven't been to Lake Compounce in over 20 years since I was a kid and moved away, but my local parks now have some of the same rides), but it seems a little hard to get that excited about an off-the-shelf Intamin or Vakoma or whatever when you've got an S-tier bespoke coaster in the form of Boulder Dash RIGHT over there. Think I'd rather just queue for that multiple times tbh. I can ride the same thing as Phobia where I live now, I can only ride Boulder Dash here at Lake Compounce.
I've never ridden Wildcat. Every time I'm there, I'm tempted and then I think, "It doesn't LOOK so bad, but I've heard everything about this coaster's reputation--am I that much of a credit hound? Do I like pain?" and I don't do it. There's plenty of stuff at Compounce that is actually fun. (I have also not ridden the kiddie coaster, but I don't think I'm allowed.) Boulder Dash has actually gotten pretty rough. But it's exciting enough that it's arguably worth it. I have to admit, though, the last time I went I had more fun riding Phobia, just because Boulder Dash was jackhammering so hard. It seems blasphemous to say that.
It’s funny, having been on many clones like Zoomerang’s model, for some reason Zoomerang is the most fun to ride every time. Flashback at SFNE is terrible in comparison, I think because it’s so shoved in a hole while Zoomerang is on a wide plot
