I love watching someone who misses so much of what they have because they either don't know what it's worth or which market to sell it in. Dude, you have far more treasure than trash!
The "steam bowl" is not a steam bowl. It's called o-hitsu, a vessel to put fresh-cooked rice just in order to let the cedar wood wall absorb the excess moist of the boiled rice and let it sit and keep it warm for a while.
I'm obsessed with this project! My inner neat OCD went into overdrive while watching this video. I couldn't help but think "save, toss, clean" the whole time. The pond area is going to be stunning. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress.
It is so nice to see a long vid from you again, it made my day! This house truly feels like Alladin's cave, dull of treasure, collectibles and antiques. If it was mine, I would try to keep the antiques and use them to furnish the house in a mix with modern amenities, keeping the beauty of the old with the comfort of the new. I would also keep some of the Antwort, tableware and kimono for decoration. The rest I would sell or gift to people that are able to appreciate or recycle it. It is a little sad to me that the family of the original owner did not value the things.
The wooden round box is Ohitsu which is not for steaming something but for keeping cooked rice. All the Japanese had one at least in a family before electric cooker arrived.
That house at the height of the Japan property bubble would have been a fortune. Lived in chiba for one month in 1998. Lovely district. Beautiful taste brother.
Sitting here in western NC USA after the Hurricane. So much destruction and loss of life here entire towns gone.... this was so cool to watch and peaceful . The toys and kids stuff you find and don't want offer to daycare and schools.... also anything that could be used for costumes and clubs . Every little bit helps and the kids get use of it
Just started watching your channel and I love it! I was wondering what Japanese law says about burning stuff on your property. Maybe you could make a fire pit and burn much of the wooden stuff instead of disposing of it. Could have some nice evenings with friends in front of the fire and maybe save some money as well.
Hope you've found where to get rid of oil, I asked my friend who lived in Tokyo for 14 years, and he suggested an oil-change place or car parts store, they might charge to accept it but I'll be gone. There are also oil disposal boxes you can buy, and then they go out on rubbish day... hope that helps!
:) Fortsätt me de du gör! :)
If you’re going to keep renovating these houses, you should also just have a vintage store with online sales too. You’re doing half the work just clearing it out and sorting it all.
Might be able to put down carpet or carpet tile squares to turn it into one or two bedrooms and a lounge room . To rent or to maybe help increase sale price if you sell it one day. Would need additional shed with toilet, shower laundry, and additional kitchen sink. If additional plumbing was not desired a roof extension or awning to extend roof outwards would help increase the usable space and hopefully make it look a bit more impressive. Seems that you got a good buy. (Congratulations).
You'd need to redo the whole structure of the garage for that. The roof is sagging in the middle. And it's not moisture proof, that + having to clean the carpet every time a new person rents the space + the house being close to the sea, so probably lots of sand = carpet sounds like a recipe for disaster.
That spider reminds me of my stay in Japan, and also this story. I was walking down a road in the suburbs of Osaka, with no one around me. There were trees planted along the sidewalk, like 50 meters between each tree. The trees were not tall, like 2 meters, and were apparently the nest for one of the biggest spider i've ever seen in my life. While walking, I just passed one tree and was looking right ahead, in the direction of the next one. From that distance, I noticed what I thought was a small bird climbing down the trunk in a really weird way. From the distance, I'd say this was probably something like 10~15cm wide, and black.. As I came closer, it went from weird to horrifying. It was moving in a bizarre, jerky way. I saw the "bird" hit the ground and then proceed to cross the road, fortunately in the opposite direction I was coming from. It was literally jumping like in this video. I realized at this moment it was a spider, not a bird. I felt so bad that I stopped for a while, and made a detour just to avoid the tree where this monstrosity came from. I was in the center of a huge city, and yet I was the lone witness of this "incident". I never forgot that story. Until this very day, I keep a good distance between me and trees whenever I'm in Japan.
This is truly lot of trash, but you got an eye for the treasures not to miss them. The oil probably was used to oil the wood outside, for terrace or outerior wood. Though the collectible cards and action figures bring most money I'd also save the pottery and old laquer boxes as well, als they are traditional japanese handcarft and maybe somewhat cultural valuable. Maybe some museums are also interested. It is extremely interesting to watch, but this is also like somones life, you just stumble through, you know. So I'm happy that you do this with care and not throw everything away. As an upcycling enthusiast I'd also keep the wood from the furniture and build some gardening raised beds and garden furniture out of this.
Fantastiskt hur du kan stå i den där röran med ett leende på läpparna och se potentialen i din investering. Själv så kryper det i skinnet på mig bara av att titta på röran på video...
Hey i live in japan and ur Channel is so much fun Been interested in renovating a house for my self to but first need to find one :) BTW I am interested in the pokemon cards uve found ( i collect the vintage ones ) they bring back my childhood memmories 😂 Let me know when u auction them i would like to try to bid on and try my luck

Great video thanks!! If a house was abandoned in my country some idiots would have destroyed it after a few months, anything not nailed down would have been stolen, it would be heavily vandalised and homeless probably would move in. Does that not happen in Japan?
Thanks for sharing your adventure & business. May I ask apparently previous owner was a hoarder/collector. Why would someone left his/own life behind? Not all but lots of those things must have sentimental value?
what I want to know is why the owner left it abandoned and filled with valuble stuff???? Why wouldn't family want to come a claim it? The answer to all that and the back story is by far the more interesting and valuable treasure!
he said the back story is not that tragic. I'm guessing that parents (original owners) died of old age. and the 3 siblings simply had their own life. Also looking at these things, this family was on the well-off side
Hey Anton. Very nice channel. I have a question. How does a incredibly beautiful young man get started modeling in Japan? Thank you. ☺️ He's 22., 6ft. lean.
Just stated watch your videos only thing that sucks it reminds me sometimes about my famicom that got stolen and I can't replace it because I'm to sick to work
i need to move.. how did you find a farmhouse for 15k and is it a farm house has it got workable land with it.. or is it just the house with garages and garden.. ?
YA GLOVES.....DUH!!!!! You see a freakin' HOPPING SPIDER and yet you're just pulling things apart without looking.... You're crazy!!!! The things you keep finding that tell time are clocks. Watches are the ones you wear on your wrist. Some old things can be used for decoration when you're done.
My wife is Japanese and she would take one look at all that stuff and say, "That is dead people's stuff it is bad luck we have to throw it all away now."
I love watching someone who misses so much of what they have because they either don't know what it's worth or which market to sell it in. Dude, you have far more treasure than trash!
I love that you're finding and saving or repurposing, so many cool things. It's like a treasure hunt.
The colorful festive things you've found are the carp streamers we hang high on a pole on the boys' day festival on May 5th.
The "steam bowl" is not a steam bowl. It's called o-hitsu, a vessel to put fresh-cooked rice just in order to let the cedar wood wall absorb the excess moist of the boiled rice and let it sit and keep it warm for a while.
Not only is that freaking spider huge, but it HOPPED!!
Maybe it was on vacation in australia and tried to imitate a kangaroo
YES! Wtf!? What kind of demon spider was that? That’s actually nightmare fuel.
It hopped 😳. I’d run. Lol
@@Gundumb_guy Probably a huntsman. They’re pretty useful to have around; they eat other insects and the dangerous spiders.
I’m Australian and I’ve never seen a spider hop like a frog. Nope, nope, nope.

An antique treasure trove!
The land! The space! Awesome.
I am hooked to this farm house reno! Eagerly awaiting every video for it!
I am amazed at your enthusiasm to overcome any difficulties and I am inspired.
So glad you made a video about this place!!!
You did a great job in just 1 day!! Wow!! It is coming along so nicely ❤❤ i can't wait to see more 😍 😀
I’m excited to hear about the overall vision for the property, especially since you have so many more options and opportunities than in the city.
I’m just impressed by how unbothered he is about the spider at first 🤣 like touching the big pot so close to it 😵💫😵💫
The Japanese cups, recycled and used as tile would be awesome 👏🏻
Always excited to watch your present and future videos. Keep it going Anton❤
The wooden round box is Ohitsu which is not for steaming something but for keeping cooked rice. All the Japanese had one at least in a family before electric cooker arrived.

Love the garage just to have a place to work.
Да Антоха, много конечно там у тебя добра - думаю в хозяйстве многое пригодится …..
P.s. Удачи тебе в твоих новых начинаниях …..
That spider looked like it quite literally hopped out of a Ghibli movie with those moves
Right ? It didn't seem real 😂
Dude, I'll binge your content for like hours at a time and I end up looking online for akiyas. I will make it there one day!
I love the vase in the Japanese house. I am wanting it for myself to keep. I think it was two toned. I am on disability but I can pay some.
You should put an online antique store with all that things 😁
Sir, that looked as big as a tarantula! 😫 I jumped while watching! 🕷🕷
Maybe you can start an online store to sell these old items. I'm interested in the paintings and cups myself
An online store is a great idea!

Those hand saws looked super cool!

That spider.... OMG 😮. It was huge. I'm hoping there isn't a whole family of them under that platform.
Huntsman spiders are territorial
Wow that was a great job for one day! I can't believe you didn't jump when you saw that huge spider 😳
Those cans and oil Containers look like a fire hazard... love this video!
I can’t agree with you more about lighting in Japanese houses.
Ditto. China too. White walls terrible central ceiling mounted blue hue lights.. nightmare shadows and shockers to grey eyes...
Ah!! This is the stuff I lovelovelove to do! Aladdin's Cave of treasures! abut you can keep the spider. 😅

I would be interested in the Hinokiburo and Koinobori. Perhaps do an estate sale style in person before selling online?
The garage is already better than most DIY projects in Portugal

old trash out, new trash in. i can relate.
The watch is gorgeous!
OmFG! I love me a treasure hunt!! But that SPIDER… nope I’m gone… shudder
Not me sitting here in Brisbane, Australia, laughing at the spider hopping away like a dork 🤣
That wasn't a spider! That was an original Studio Ghibli Soot Sprite! 😂

45’s or singles.
Beta tapes?
That spider was so big it needs tags or a license.
Fireworks 🎆 on the beach when you finish !!!

Oh I would keep the lacquer boxes … they can be saved
That spider should be on a leash 😂
He small vynals (LPS) are called 45s
Those smaller records are called 45s, due to the fact that they are played at 45 rpm.
Yes i'm old.
🤣
8:55 Huge jumping spider.
That has to be a Huntstman Spider! OMG that was huge!
Hi, I'm new to your video on TH-cam channel and I think your films are great and you hate it about the small records in the box, which are singles
Can you do a dedicated video on the stuff you find?

A "single" in the UK.
Those vinyls worth a fortune.

looked like 8 track tapes with the 45s and 33 albums. Not only do you need gloves but a big ass can of bug spray
Are you able to burn anything like the wood stuff and cardboard or paper?
