The fact that she’s the main dancer of her group yet she’s serving godly vocals as a soloist. Thats a top tier idol right there. 😭
For me, "28 Reasons" is more than just about the good and evil side of a person. It is also about people's lives and inner struggles. Her line "You in danger, but it's okay. You're a grown up" suggests that life is not easy, and it's always been "dangerous", but it's okay because you got this, you're an adult now, and you are so ready for the struggles that you may encounter in life.
28 is also Seulgi's age as of now. So this sounds like advice by Seulgi for herself and to her fans.

Seulgi is my ult bias since the sm rookie days (we’re also both Aquarius and have the same bday week) so I couldn’t help it. This solo debut was exactly what I expected dark, mature, and very on brand with the velvet side. I’m so proud of her!
Really love how Seulgi went for what she wants and what identifies as her for her solo debut. I bet it can get kinda hard when people expects a lot from you when you're known as one of kpop's ace. This is what her craft means to her. I will support her in everything she does and me genuinely just liking this serve is just the icing on the cake. I mean it was what made me a fan. I have been in love with everything she has showed with us so far. As Wendy said, this is just the start of the genre Kang Seulgi.
I must say your reaction channel is exactly how a reaction channel should be done. A quick intro, watching, reacting with limited talking over video and MOST IMPORTANTLY not pausing every 15 seconds. Followed by a second run through with a more concise review. Kudos to you. You follow the same format as another one of my favourite review channels. And oh the MV and song. Amazing.

The trailer to this is one you NEEEEEEED to go back and watch... it's just different, with scenes that aren't in the mv... and basically the trailer to a high budget film. Like, I want to watch that movie and it kills me that it not actually a full length feature film. 😭

So excited to see your reaction to this!!! :D I hope there will be a dance practice, but I have already seen a live stage with horizontal fancam of the entire choreo so that is super cool. I love the debut approach for the title track having cool point choreography but still leaving lot of room to focus on her vocals. If you go back and look at all the teaser elements now it is really beautiful supporting the good and evil themes. If you look at the album trailer - she said in the group reaction to her MV that that trailer was sort of reality - and the person in that video in the white dress and whatnot is going into a dream, in which there is the inner battle between good and evil that is represented in this title track and MV! Very cool, right??? She is so cool. Also on the album she wrote all the lyrics for Dead Man Running' (that were selected through blind submission!!) and is one of the best tracks on a no skip album.
I feel you about avoiding teasers, for this release I only saw the image teasers and when that first line hit I was also SHOOK. *I thought this was gonna be a slow n’ sad song and the THAT hit?* One of those moments I wish I could relive.

I was so excited to see your reaction to this!! I've been loving this song/mv and honestly, the whole album so much. This video was just brilliant though. It felt like a mini movie! I definitely felt like this was a more personal song. My interpretation was similar to yours but different in some ways -- to me it felt like she was fighting with herself, only wanting to be seen and recognized as "pure", struggling with the fact that she is multi-dimensional, and in some ways "impure" or even "evil". I captured that the song was about accepting yourself wholly, the good and bad and using it as a strength rather than judging yourself for who you are. SUCH a good change of pace for kpop, and probably my favorite solo release of the year, if not EVER.
*another note!* the choreo where she says "28 reasons that ruined you" her movements look like they're representing different ways people would ~harm~ themselves, i.e. wrists, gun, poison/drugs. Then right after, saying "I have no bad intentions" and makes a visual of horns!!! I thought that was SO freaking cool and unique. Seulgi is the best T_T
