Since childhood, my parents taught us this: Treasure the rice in your bowl, every grain is the result of hard work. Not only rice, I treasure every piece of food. Every minute, there still are starving people in the world.
Thai Rice Festival was awesome day with tradition and hospitality. Mike, you looked like you were having a wonderful time and this was one of your best videos. Thank you. ❤
Every time I watch your videos I get happy and I don’t know why, but seeing how respectful you are of other cultures and how much you love food, that’s the content I’m here for.
And here in the states they throw rice at weddings! My parents went nuts when they attended a interracial wedding and they threw rice. They literally started picking them up. 😂 My Dad was like why would they waste food. 😂😂 He came from a very poor family in Vietnam and my mother is from Laos with ancestors. So coming to America was quite a culture shock. 😂😂 Pair papaya salad with pad Thai. It goes well together.
Avery the Cuban-American The other day I was travelling and left at like 4am and had to wait until 6 for MCDONALDS breakfast...so full breakfast at 3am is awesome lol
This episode made my soul smile. I love to be able to see people experience other cultures, because I will likely never get to myself, though I would love to so much. I've always had a deep seated desire to travel, but never had the opportunity to, even where I live. The furthest I've ever traveled is Florida (from Texas). Thank you to Mikey Chen, and the other TH-camrs I watch who travel - your documentation of your trips allows me to experience travel vicariously.
I was at work when you uploaded. I'm glad you're enjoying yourself so much. Please don't forget to say thank you. These people look so kind, I wish I was there.
One of the best videos. We also have a rice festival called nobanno in here Bangladesh. Whenever I go to Thailand I buy jasmine flowers first. Love your vids Mike.
This was an extremely beautiful episode on mikey Chen. I mean beyond even all the delicious food, to see the rice making and culture... just beautiful.
Thanks for another awesome video showcasing how beautiful and richly cultured Chiangmai is Mikey. You looked awesome in the traditional outfit as well. Much love from Minnesota. #teamsoutheastasian
Mike! Your an inspiration. I’m striving to do exactly what you do. Traveling and eating? Yes please! My first stop, Japan! starting July. Anyways thank you for all the entertainment! Keep at it :)
When I think of Thailand I think of Mark Weins, not to knock Marks channel at all because I love it, but Mike you are showing us a part of Thailand we have never seen before! So enjoyable!!!
Have been waiting for this video. Very interesting and the food looked amazing. I found it amusing that they had you changing clothes for activities, but probably a good idea in the rice fields for sure!
Man this was a superb video. I am really happy to see the Traditional Thai Rice Feast. Loved this mikey. Loved the Thai Tradition & the way how rice is grown. Thanks for this video. And one thing i forgot to mention while u were dancing in the feast looking u made me to remember of Jackie Chan.
Oh yay! You made it to Thailand! My favorite places to eat in Thailand are Chiang Mai for tasty spices and stir fry, Phuket for so much southern sea food!!! I lived there for one year. I miss it all the time. Cold Chai!!!!
Well done video..FYI, the fruit you were referring to as "Logan" is called "Longan" pronounced long gan. The soup with the chicken drumsticks and crispy noodles is a Chiang Mai specialty.."Khao Soi"
The dish with that you are having at 15:30 is called Khao Soi, normally it is also served with a small side of pickled veggies, red onion and a wedge of lime to cut down on the richness and the sweetness of the curry.
I love every video you put out, but this one was my favourite in recent memory. Didn't stop smiling and also made me incredibly hungry. I know what cuisine I'm ordering tonight 😂
I know what you mean about massages, I once had an Indian head massage, & the lady was really rough & it hurt so much, I ended up more tense afterwards than I was before! I love pork blood, we call it black pudding in the UK & it's delicious!
This has to be 1 of The Best videos. Every second of the video was Awesome. Thailand is Amazing. Thanks for showing us how amazing it is. Need to plan my trip there now😉. Thanks to Mike😊😊

After seeing this video I am even more certain that every grain of rice is sacred and it breaks my heart to see rice wasted everyday by greedy people who have no idea the work that goes into producing it and just throw it away uneaten. Thanks Mike again for showing the world how food should be revered. x
I am really appreciating rice right now. Thank you Mike for the introduction to different foods and cultures. My Doctor says I have to eat healthier and you have contributed to the cause, well mostly , unless the word fatty is involved (LOL). Luving all you foodies out there !

Experiencing the culture like that is just amazing
The one video where you actually immerse yourself deeply into a culture, please make more videos editted like this
"...YOU STEPPED ON MY RICE?!"
-saddest anime deaths of 2019
I threw my cat out the window...actually happened
Maria ,Maria! You remind me of a Westside story.

Wow! How do you know so much about that? And what is the fruit like? Micky didn't describe it like he did everything else.
Yeah, I also cringed a bit when he said "Logan". btw, the taste of longan always reminds me of lychees.
@@oakenshadow6763 it's like a lighter, less sweet lychee. Very delicious.
The way he pronounced chiang mai made me cringe
Long Gan is just Cantonese for 龙眼。 Mike grew up in USA so his Chinese skill is a bit lacking. ;p
I love traveling the world with you and your videos! The food and cultures you experience are amazing!
The dish with that you are having at 15:30 is called Khao Soi, normally it is also served with a small side of pickled veggies, red onion and a wedge of lime to cut down on the richness and the sweetness of the curry.
