I have 4c hair and I struggle a lot with breakage it's not excessive but I don't like seeing my hair break. Any suggestions?

•Pick a go to protective style and wear your hair in it 75-80% of the time. •Wear a bonnet at night time.
•Use lots of conditioner with slip when detangling (be patient, gentle, and finger detangle first) keep your hair stretched throughout your washday (ESPECIALLY WHEN CLEANSING-DO SUPER LOOSE CHUNKY TWISTS).
      •Do everything in sections
Good luck and happy hair growing ❤

Do not use regular shampoo thatll strip your hair. If you have to. Dilute it. Ive been using castile soap that has been diluted. 1 to 2 tbs in 8 ounces of water. It should clean the hair but not "clean" it too much. It should still have a small bit of sebum or oil in it afterwards. It should feel very moisturized and clumped. Ypu can also use a gentle clay wash by putting clay, water, a very small bit a ACV. And maybe a small bit of oil. The reason why peoples hair in general was so long and thick is because they didnt use commercial shampoo and conditioners. When your hair gets cleansed it should be a gentle cleanser and should be clumped and soft and manageable. I always condition with a homemade conditioner. This has made the biggest difference for my hair and its stronger than ever. Look up 22nd century natural woman. shes a fully black woman with hair past her butt because she uses gentle cleansers. She also has a few cleansers for sale. Also look up indigenous stranz she also uses gentle cleansers.

Hi Ellen, thank you so much for watching and thank you for your query as well. 4c hair tends to be much drier in nature and therefore moisture is your best friend throughout all aspects of your routine.
      1. use aloe to detangle and as a prepoo. Aloe has tons of slip, so it allows the detangles and knots to walk out without any breakage occurring.
      2. Use a very moisturising shampoo and conditioner. I like to use ACV just on my scalp to cleanse so I can go in with a much milder and hydrating shampoo for just my hair.
      3. Protective styling is your next bestfriend, low manipulation and simply not touching your hair too much is essential. Also choose protective styles wisely, nothing to tight on the follicle or putting stress on the hairline. Remoisturise as often as necessary and redo your protective style. Massage the scalp daily to promote hair growth.
Internal health is also important so make sure to eat healthy and take some supplements like omegas, antioxidants and biotin as well.
I hope this was helpful for you :)
Check out this video I also posted on hair breakage....it has some really helpful tips.
