Do you think its better to keep your hair stretched for length retention?

Thanks for this. I thought of doing this, but I don't think my hair will fully rinse out in braids. Why I say this is because when I wash my (19 inch medium density 4c) hair in big twists, and I think the shampoo is all rinsed out- I open the twist to apply conditioner, but realize that there was still residue of shampoo. Same with the conditioner afterwards. So I always loose the twists one by one to rinse out the shampoo at the very end of my wash. (I stopped deep conditioning in the shower, I use a leave in deep conditioner after my wash, to save time. 😉) Also- can you please do a length check? In inches as well. 🙏
