Oddly enough, there is only one spot where this is actually useful, and that is the Wraith tank at the bottom of the pyramid at the start of the level Two Betrayals. ManofChrist101 1) The flood weren't "out" yet until the humans arrival, and when they started spreading, the master chief appeared, so 343 decided to follow the protocol and take him to the index. Maybe its stronger, more stable, longer, etc.

i like how you dont skip anything, it makes for better videos i think, and helps play out what to do in worst case scenarios, also skipping things in the game, pretty much takes away from the gameplay, the enemies were put there for you too fight, its more or less how the game was meant to be played so skipping them is almost kinda pointless, there are some exceptions i make, but for the most part i like to fight things out
I'm surprised you didn't have any banshees trailing you around the 56:00 mark. When I tried to get through that tunnel on heroic I had to do it over several times because there were about 3 banshees shooting me.
That’s because I already destroyed them before I hit the second pulse generator. Watch again from 46:50 and count how many Banshees I destroy before reaching the platform to the second pulse generator.
This was the hardest mission so far, because you have to take down 3 sides, The Flood, Covenant, Sentinels, vs One, It might seem easy but actually it's overwhelmingly hard.
I had no idea that you could use the Ghost on the final section, I just went back to the Pelican and brought some more ammo to the fight halfway through. I was high on adrenaline the whole time!
I love how all the weapons in the game are useful even on legendary. It's all about knowing what to use when. Not like halo 2 which is noob combo and power weapon marines. or halo 3 which is the same.
samtheweebo huh? Assault rifle is barely useful and only used to quickly clean up grunts and sometimes invisible elites, halo's 2 and 3 had many more choices which were mostly useful
Montrell Crowder naw mate I actually like the Spiker. It doesn't have the range that the Assault Rifle has but it's a workable weapon. You really don't even need to stop shooting as long as you're willing to pull down on weapons.
For the last part of the mission instead of going into the ghost, taking down wraith with rockets and elites with sniper, u can actually just drive the ghost behind the Rocks where the banshees are from the right side and take the one near the big rock, fly it straight up and then start cleaning up everything with banshee bomb, it will almost destroy the banshee but u will get the job done, then just get the other banshee and fly to the 3rd generator
Hokie doesn't like backpacking, but carting 2 to 3 rocket launchers from the Rocket Launcher flood throughout the mission gives you more ammo to play w/ than just the regular stockpiles
The only thing I never understood about the flood is how did the elite combat forms get a hold of UNSC weapons? The covenant never use human weapons, but the combat form isn't intelligent enough to pick up a weapon and use it. So when and how did the elite combat form get that damn shotgun!
+Amazing Combat forms are intelligent enough to pick up weapons, you just never see it happen in-game because it was too hard to program. Later installments of the saga do include Combat Forms picking weapons up off the ground if they are revived.
I don't know. When the flood formed, I am not sure how. Maybe they make flood out of humans and covenants? I thought they were supposed to infect any sentient life they encountered - that means covenant and humans. I mean, they did kill a shitload of marines. Like Cortana says - "human, covenant, we are al equally edible" but we never see them eat the bodies, they carry them away. Maybe they eat some and convert some or something?" I always assumed that the flood with plasma weapons were the covenant that were turned and the ones with UNSC weapons were the marines that were turned. The flood, as far as I have seen, seem to have one kind of weapons - rocket launcher/shotgun/assault rifle/ pistol will drop frags and plasma weapons ones will drop plasma grenades. That's why I always assumed so.
@@zombiesquid4657 Nope, as far I as I understand, popcorn forms only spread the infection. That is pretty much not how the flood originated. Actually, Bungie wanted to make a different flood form for every species - humans, elites, jackals and grunts for halo ce. But they did not have the resources at the time so they made do with just 2 - elites and humans. The stories in Halo 2 and 3 evolved later. Initially, food is like a virus or something that has to infect bodies to produce flood forms but later they develop the ability to use flood mass and build flood from scratch known as pure forms as in halo 3. In Halo 2 they have shown flood spores which might be how the flood survived since forerunners time. But I am still unclear as to how they originated. Especially since gravemind is supposed to be controlling all of them somehow. I don't know the entire backstory and my knowledge is limited to the first 3 Halo games, so I might be wrong. I would like to be corrected if I am.
This is my favorite campaign! The final battlefield at the end is especially good using the Legendary level. Because this campaign overlaps with Assault on the Control Room, you can actually jump off the snow-covered bridge and still survive; it's a shortcut in AOTCR.
2GisGG Biggest threats on each Halo game. Halo CE: Flood combat form with a rocket launcher. Halo 2: Jackal Sniper Halo 3: Angry Brute with a Gravity Hammer. Halo 4: Promethean Knight with an Incineration Cannon. Halo 5: A Warden. Halo 6: This dick nigga! Lol jk we'll see when the game comes out.
16 years ago I played this.. yesterday Xbox live went down and I revisited halo ce campaign played assualt on the control room - two betrayals, on legendary. Woke up in the middle of the night looking left and right feeling like I was going to get ambused by flood..The library is No joke
Thanks for the advices from 1:10:00 and onward. I always had the rifle and the rocket launcher, never occured to me that it's better to have the rocket launcher and the sniper rifle. Now it seems so much easier.
I love how you seem to refuse to comment on any of the weird glitchy shit that happened between the 30 minute and 40 minutes mark, like the dead combat forms constantly smacking into the floor due to glitched geometry or the combat form just phasing through the bridge at around 40:40
At the beginning, where the sniper is, you can just jump straight off the tower from the top. If you just walk right off and stay against the wall as you fall you'll land on the little angled bit on the bottom and take no damage at all as you slide out away from it. Dunno why, I just saw you sort of slowly jump down the ramps and I was like "Oh, maybe he doesn't know this?". I love the vids though, I've beaten all halos on Legendary, I just like getting another players perspective on things and seeing how others do stuff. Awesome work mate.
Hokie knows how make me feel calm after failing the library LASO for the 78th time. That's the actual number of times Ive died as of 6/1/2016. Lots more to come.
I honestly tried to fight out the encounter before the third pulse generator, but after (I think) the 4th attempt, I just decided "Screw it, YOLO!" and ran for the Banshee. By the time I was airborne and away the Banshee only had two red bars of health, but I still got by the Sentinels no trouble. This has got to be one of, if not the hardest missions in the game on Legendary.
55:55 They made the parasites aim with a rocket launcher godlike... when you fly threw that cave below with the banshee, one of those bitch asses kept blowing me down. Like a fucking robot look shoot boom! Smh that's def one of the things that irritate the hell outta me.
Mhmm-mhmm-mhmm Scout Bazooka flood literally blew me up after realizing I existed. If I merely breathe into the cave, he will, without hesitation, fire his rocket in *my general direction* and somehow kill me. Edit: grammar
On the part with the funny Banshee fight, I find that it's easiest to ditch the ghost and take the flipped warthog. Deal with the grunts on the ridge while on foot, then use the warthog's machine gun to kill the first Banshee. Then I run down the hunters with the warthog. . .
I play this level a little differently. After clearing the robots and the covenant at the first of this level, I use the right blast door as cover, when it opens up I rush the two elites with the shotgun at close range, dump the shotgun, pick up one of the dropped plasma rifles and mop up the immediate area. Then pick up the shotgun reload it,drop the plasma pistol and go to the top of the tower with the plasma rifle. Once at the top of the tower (where the sniper rifle and pistol are) I dump the plasma rifle and shotgun (after picking up ammo for it) take the M6D (human pistol) and sniper rifle. Go down one level on the tower, pick off the strongest elite, then use the pistol to pick off grunts and Jacks. After doing that I go down take my pick of any dropped plasma weapons, juggle the human weapons to the top of the tower, take any plasma pistols and rifles and proceed to clear the rest of the structure (level by level). Usually I try to go down the western most side via sliding down a wall section. Once at the spot where I can trade a covenant weapon for the Rocket Launcher, I load it up, and book it back to the top of the structure and back to the top of the tower. Dump the other plasma weapon back at the tower and pick up the sniper rifle and keep the RL. I then use the scope on the sniper rifle to fine tune my aim on the tank once it is stationary, aim for dead center of the tank, switch to RL and fire, rinse/repeat as needed. The point is to save as much sniper rifle ammo as possible for later use (makes taking out grunts with fuel rod cannons and other high value targets much easier later on)
I found for approaching the second generator that taking out the two banshees (I had two to kill on foot), then taking out the hunters and flanking the wraith, grunts and elites from the right worked more fluently. But that meant using the rockets on the wraith instead of a banshee.
YourHaloCreations I actually tried this when I played MCC yesterday and found myself completely out of Rocket Launcher ammo when I got the second pulse generator! It certainly made getting out of there rather difficult!
+DEVOSEPH "Skulls are in the game with a purpose" Who made Halo Combat Evolved? Ok, now who added the skulls into the game? Bungie did not intend for people to use skulls in combat in Halo Combat Evolved. By using skulls, you are essentially cheating by using something the developers didn't want you to.
Hey Hokiebird, two things I noticed that will save you time. After you exit the control room and kill all of the guys directly outside, when you go grab the sniper you can hug the wall from the top floor while falling and you won't get hurt. Its also possible to fall down the ledge on the left side of the map instead of running to the right and circling all the way down the structure.
46:40 so I had the brilliant idea of skipping this entire part and just gunning for the banshee to get to the reactor. Problem is: Nothing despawns. Meaning trying to get from the reactor through the tunnel meant I needed to fight all three banshees, the wraith, the hunters, the wave of covenant in the tunnel, and the flood rocket launchers. Best part is, you can’t trigger a checkpoint here. So if you die you reset all the way back on top and you have to kill everything again. I gave up. I’m gonna restart the mission and take care of everything before I go get the reactor. At least then I’ll just have to deal with the enemies in the tunnel. I’m tired and going to bed.
I have found it's easy to spot the flood with rocket launchers from a distance because they will stand still and not move. Most of the time that means that they have a rocket launcher. This is my favorite mission. I have played it several times.

i like how you dont skip anything, it makes for better videos i think, and helps play out what to do in worst case scenarios, also skipping things in the game, pretty much takes away from the gameplay, the enemies were put there for you too fight, its more or less how the game was meant to be played so skipping them is almost kinda pointless, there are some exceptions i make, but for the most part i like to fight things out
Greg Thompson I usually only skip hunters in later games because they are so annoying and not fun to fight
You're probably one of the best halo players I ever heard of
The Combat Forms with the Rocket Launchers are a pain in the ass.
"I dont skip anything" unless your doing the watch out for the little guys achievement (maybe) lol :)
This mission design always gave me a sense of unexplainable nostalgia
You have the calmness of Mr. Rogers while doing some of the most chaotic and difficult parts of these levels.
46:39 FAIL
48:15 SUCCESS
I'm surprised you didn't have any banshees trailing you around the 56:00 mark. When I tried to get through that tunnel on heroic I had to do it over several times because there were about 3 banshees shooting me.
That’s because I already destroyed them before I hit the second pulse generator. Watch again from 46:50 and count how many Banshees I destroy before reaching the platform to the second pulse generator.
Thanks for the walkthrough, I managed to keep going further in the game!
Thank you so much for posting this. i was only stuck on the last bit but watching this made it easier for me. :)
This was the hardest mission so far, because you have to take down 3 sides,
The Flood, Covenant, Sentinels, vs One,
It might seem easy but actually it's overwhelmingly hard.
I had no idea that you could use the Ghost on the final section, I just went back to the Pelican and brought some more ammo to the fight halfway through. I was high on adrenaline the whole time!
Awesome video! At the end when you had to snipe the hunters, I failed and had to take out the enemies with the ghost.
58:23 holy smoke, that was so close
This is by far the hardest mission in the game
I love how all the weapons in the game are useful even on legendary. It's all about knowing what to use when. Not like halo 2 which is noob combo and power weapon marines. or halo 3 which is the same.
? Halo 3 had incredible selection of weapons that could be used. Basically everything but the mauler was useful.
Troy Fowler Spikers are useless as well, but everything else serves its proper purpose
samtheweebo huh? Assault rifle is barely useful and only used to quickly clean up grunts and sometimes invisible elites, halo's 2 and 3 had many more choices which were mostly useful
Montrell Crowder naw mate I actually like the Spiker. It doesn't have the range that the Assault Rifle has but it's a workable weapon. You really don't even need to stop shooting as long as you're willing to pull down on weapons.
samtheweebo I went through all of halo 2 without picking up a plasma pistol. I just use beam rifles to strip shields
i like the old graphics better
I do too.
@@zombiesquid4657 Hey Zombie squid, I would say that is an understatement. New graphics destroyed 343 Guilty Spark Mission.
ñooé lije mibike fraojgs vest
Me too 👍
For the last part of the mission instead of going into the ghost, taking down wraith with rockets and elites with sniper, u can actually just drive the ghost behind the Rocks where the banshees are from the right side and take the one near the big rock, fly it straight up and then start cleaning up everything with banshee bomb, it will almost destroy the banshee but u will get the job done, then just get the other banshee and fly to the 3rd generator
Yep I did that
I had no idea the banshee fairy existed. Now i'm a believer
I just realized - almost 20 years after this game’s release - that this is the last mission in the game with jackals...
Shit, you're right. I never even noticed until you pointed it out.
Hokie doesn't like backpacking, but carting 2 to 3 rocket launchers from the Rocket Launcher flood throughout the mission gives you more ammo to play w/ than just the regular stockpiles
yes we do
The only thing I never understood about the flood is how did the elite combat forms get a hold of UNSC weapons?
Thank you for helping me find a door, the covenant bases are always so hard to navigate
Grunt: Feet dont fail me now!
So I did hear a grunt say that! I kinda thought I was imagining it! Cx
My favourite grunt like ever.
Grunts are the best
This is my favorite campaign! The final battlefield at the end is especially good using the Legendary level. Because this campaign overlaps with Assault on the Control Room, you can actually jump off the snow-covered bridge and still survive; it's a shortcut in AOTCR.
I’m playing through all the games right now and your video helped out a bunch! :D thank you
Glad to hear it! Cheers!
Imagine how much this guide would help with the boom skull on. That makes it infinitely easier. Just the rocket flood screws you over.
Hokiebird428 Not to mention, the boom skull is more of a liability than it is helpful.
jeez m8 you are a genius. The technique you used to push the ghost out with the banshee, the Sniper Rifle/Rocket Trick... Wow!
U made it look so easy, highly skilled
Yeah I skipped through all that ghost business fighting in the open to save time and frustrations. Thanks for the guides man
Flood with Rocket Launchers remind me of the Jackal Snipers from Halo 2. The biggest threat in each game, both can kill with one shot.
2GisGG but jackals' shots hit you instantly
2GisGG Biggest threats on each Halo game. Halo CE: Flood combat form with a rocket launcher. Halo 2: Jackal Sniper Halo 3: Angry Brute with a Gravity Hammer. Halo 4: Promethean Knight with an Incineration Cannon. Halo 5: A Warden. Halo 6: This dick nigga! Lol jk we'll see when the game comes out.
Obi-Wan Kenobi nah halo 3's biggest threat are the brutes with brute shots
Thanks! I did the same thing for Halo 2, and Halo 3 is coming soon!
at 2:40 I just realized that 343 Guilty Spark says that there are other installations
As an ex-halo player, I'm glad you did it to beat Two Betrayals. I had a hard time finishing it in legendary!
I could not do this without your help. I try 5 times before I look here.
Just started the halo series and just finished this part right now. The AI in this game are more I than A.
16 years ago I played this.. yesterday Xbox live went down and I revisited halo ce campaign played assualt on the control room - two betrayals, on legendary. Woke up in the middle of the night looking left and right feeling like I was going to get ambused by flood..The library is No joke
I actually passed this mission today I’m on mission 8 think I’m doing quite well if I do say so myself
Thanks for the advices from 1:10:00 and onward. I always had the rifle and the rocket launcher, never occured to me that it's better to have the rocket launcher and the sniper rifle. Now it seems so much easier.
Quick question in heroic the part when I use the ghost bug in the room in 1:00:00 there is only one wave?
I love how you seem to refuse to comment on any of the weird glitchy shit that happened between the 30 minute and 40 minutes mark, like the dead combat forms constantly smacking into the floor due to glitched geometry or the combat form just phasing through the bridge at around 40:40
1:08:26 God damn do I wish I'd known that. The next section took me like a dozen tries to beat on foot.
Same dude! I had no idea!
Thank you, you absolute legend!🙏 stuck on this mission on normal difficulty lmao
Finally thank you!! I’ve been trying to beat this for a while!
1:01:14 least you don't have to worry about the infection forms, they would fall to their deaths.
55:55 They made the parasites aim with a rocket launcher godlike... when you fly threw that cave below with the banshee, one of those bitch asses kept blowing me down. Like a fucking robot look shoot boom! Smh that's def one of the things that irritate the hell outta me.
Same here
Mhmm-mhmm-mhmm Scout Bazooka flood literally blew me up after realizing I existed.
Then I run down the hunters with the warthog. . .
Very good. Thanks for uploading. I picked up several excellent tips.
The point is to save as much sniper rifle ammo as possible for later use (makes taking out grunts with fuel rod cannons and other high value targets much easier later on)
Wow I needed this. For the 2nd generator, I thought I did something wrong and I didn't notice the other cavern area behind the wraith.
Hokiebird428 Did you go back to the ammo stash? Once I got the banshee and took out the other banshees, shade turrets etc., I made sure to go back.
*****
Cheating? No thanks, I can manage plenty fine without.
The sniper rocket trick seems so obvious but I would not have thought of it
1:06:44 mans tripped on something
Hey Hokiebird, two things I noticed that will save you time. After you exit the control room and kill all of the guys directly outside, when you go grab the sniper you can hug the wall from the top floor while falling and you won't get hurt. Its also possible to fall down the ledge on the left side of the map instead of running to the right and circling all the way down the structure.
Don't forget that Hokie doesn't skip anything
I found that out later on, lol.
FUCK FUCK FUCK! I DIDN'T WAIT ON THE LAST TITLE SCREEN. I JUST LOST 3 FUCKING HOURS. GOD FUCKING DAMNIT
Great videos bro it's extremely helpful
I have found it's easy to spot the flood with rocket launchers from a distance because they will stand still and not move. Most of the time that means that they have a rocket launcher. This is my favorite mission. I have played it several times.
I have literally wandered around for 2 hours on this god forsaken map. Convinced my game glitched as there is not a single thing I can do.
Basically Cortana called chief a moron in that opening cutscene 💀
