Very cool to see friction welding in action! The handle turned out excellent
Thanks a lot ❤️🙏
this is wonderful work👏😍
Very interesting 👍
Very good work!
amazing 😍😍👌👌
That turned out very good👌
Thanks ❤️
intresting
excellent👌👌👌
Krass 😍🧡
Do you think the heat during friction welding damaged the heat treatment on your chuck jaws?
No because the jaws did not get hot enough to change the temper colour. The jaws are a much greater mass of metal to heat than the comparatively small weld interface between ball and socket head screw. the
not at all ❤️
Thanks ❤️
What do you use to blacken the part? It seems to work fast and is color consistent. Thanks for an interesting video.
Looks like cold bluing to me, but I could be wrong
I wonder if this is healthy for the machine to do it like this. Also since it was quenched, wasnt it easier to realese it a bit before turning?
It's not. It puts a lot of stress on the bearings for no good reason. Use a real welder instead.
Good way to ruin your spindle bearings, your chuck and your tailstock
Worth, this was pretty neat
