There are old people in India who use Amla oil(not necessarily this brand) and have no greys till about 50 and thick, lustrous hair. People even consume this. This berry tastes amazing. Maybe use pure Amla oil next time. Also try Bhringraj oil, you will NOT regret, it's proven to increase hair density. And fenugreek!
@Alondra Zaragoza oh no it just has an earthy, herbal scent. Bhringraj oil isn't used alone anyways because the oil in itself is quite potent, so it's usually in combination with some carrier oil, mostly coconut or sesame. And most people who have the herb called Bhringraj or Keshraj(literally meaning king of hair) just crush it and apply the juice extracted.
I used amla with bhringraj oil and no joke I noticed my hair was a bit thicker after the first application, left on overnight. Definitely infuse a healthier oil with amla and some other herbs and use it as an overnight treatment. Works wonders.
Sanjana Misar Yes Forest essentials is good. I use one called Organic Ayurveda Life & Pursuits Bhringraj scalp therapy. I got it on Amazon and it’s full of other indian herbs and oils, including onion! It’s a little stinky but I actually like it.
The Amla powder didn’t work for you because you didn’t use it as an oil nor did you evenly distribute much of it in your hair. They sell pure amla oil, with no other oils or dyes in stores so maybe try that instead. It also takes more than one use to see results.
I grew up with my mom putting this in my hair and I stopped using it after I grew up, now I’m back at using it, it’s amazing helps my dry curly Arab hair become so soft.

Still I don't see a single Indian with beautiful hair. Only the Bollywood celebs know how to style their hair. The common Indians don't even know how to take care of their hair despite having thick hair.
@@livelifeluv_ what??? Literally every Indian girl here in Germany has long and healthy looking beautiful hair 😅 I was always wondering how this could be
Here's a tip, you should heat up the oil in a glass bowl, the hot oil applied to hair increases the blood circulation a lot and it helps to nourish dry, frizzy hair. You should try it. also, leave the oil in your hair overnight in a braid, it gets absorbed much more and is better than leaving for just one hour.
@@melissaizaguirre9995use double boiler if your hair is brittle or very thin. Heating oil directly can still harm fragile hair. However if it's not the case with you, just boil the oil on low heat for barely 2-3 min
Can we just appreciate her authenticity? She legit researched on it and when she found out about the mineral oil, she used actual amla to give us a proper review😭❤
I’m just here to advise y’all. As a Somali, I’ve seen ladies in my family use this oil ever since we were young. As I grew up, my hair got damaged from bleaching, color & overall hormonal stuff. It was falling out & even changed texture. I was suffering from dandruff as well, like a lot. I went back to using this oil & it felt like it was burning my scalp. So I did some research & found out that it’s not 100% Amla oil. I ordered 100% Amla oil from Amazon & it didn’t even like I was oiling my hair . The oil absorbed so well into my hair and scalp without even dripping. It can be useful but do your research
I know! I’m not from India, but my mom always slathered oils on me and my sisters hair, either olive, amla infused oil, or coconut, then slicked our hair back into braids/buns with Tres Flores brilliantine 😂 I feel so nostalgic
When buying oils for the hair, look for organic and cold pressed. This ensures there are no filler ingredients or anything harmful to be absorbed by your scalp. It's certain brands that use fillers. You can use the powder to infuse your choice of oils sans the grainy mess. I use a combo of amla and methi infused oil which helps with post partum hair loss and to stregthen hair.
An Indian here, um....you used it wrong, my mum used to wash my hair with awla reetha and shikakai powder mixture and here is how it is done, Amla powder is boiled in water along with shikakai and reetha powder then left for an hour or more and then the boiled water is strained and the hair is rinsed with that water. If you used pure powder you are not gonna get any side effects since it is organic. See the effects aren’t seen in just one wash... Ayurveda doesn’t work like allopathy it takes time. One might see proper results after regular use not just after one use.
Hello. Thank you for these precious tips ! I do have some questions because I would love to try it on my hair. do you use anything alongside ? like do you oil your hair before or anything else? Also, how much time do you let the water sit on your hair ?
@@alexgomez002 Hi! Most Indians I know, including myself and my mother and grandpa oil their hair atleast twice a week. We give ourselves hair massages. For that, you can use any pure oil. We mostly use sesame, coconut oil because those are readily available. You could use castor or whatever. I additionally drop fenugreek seeds in the oil in my bottle of oil. Then you shampoo them. If you are going to use this concoction, you can shampoo using this because the oil won't be released otherwise. If you are not oiling, just use the concoction. I usually make sure that this concoction is the last thing I use on my hair before getting out of the shower. Oiling is usually either very heavy one, which would require two or three washes, in which case you can use this concoction in the last wash. If it's light oiling, you can just use it. What oiling does it, if you get the hang of it, it leaves the hair smooth, but you have to be careful about the times you shampoo. If you shampoo too much, you dry out your hair. Then the only purpose oiling serves is cleaning your scalp by taking out dandruff and giving you a massage which may help with blood circulation.
@@ankita7385 Hello Ankita ! Thank you sooo much for your message ! It made me super happy. Also thank you for your advice. I promise I will make sure to use them wisely. Thank you again for taking the time to write this message. Have a blessing day.
In Algeria we use olive oil before washing the hair and a traditional powder called Ghassoul during the wash, this combo makes the hair softer and stronger than anything else
I use this every week since I was in middle school and my hair is amazing. It’s an indian staple!! No wonder a lot of wigs are made from Indian hair haha
I used that oil when I was in middle school, I remember this made my hair so so shiny, but at the end I also realised that this was just from the mineral oil. Today I just use regular coconut oil with lavender essential oil in it, or with patchouli essentiel oil (Love the smell of both) for pre-shampoo, when I have scalp issue I put tea tree essential oil in the coconut oil ( I have scalp issues since I take an immunosupressive treatment for MS ) Tea tree works great but it stinks so much
1. Direct application of Amla powder with water can cause dry scalp so it's better to mix it up with some oil and then you can apply it and it will serve the purpose. 2. Yeah, Amla oil smells way too strong so you can heat the oil and then apply like hot oil massage, coz after heating it losses a bit of the fragrance so it will work for you. Hope so 😁 3* Your videos are just mesmerizing and I binge watch them on Sundays Love from India 🇮🇳 Keep posting such hair care videos ❤️

I ask you 1 more, how you use the Dabur Amla Hair Oil? I put a little bit of the oil in my hair every day, nothing else. Before i use this to and stop it for a time and now i use it again and it feels so good. Better than every another product i think, and is pure Olive oil good to? Sorry my english is not so good 🫶
@@Christienangie your english is fine🤗 I use the oil every second day. I put it in on the roots and throughout the length of hair. Then i braid it and leave it for 2/3 hours. Then wash it. Your hair will be so soft and it will grow fast too. I use amla, sometimes olive oil mixed with castor oil, and sometimes coconut oil as well. Good luck!
You can make oil infused with the amla powder. Just put the powder in a glass container with an oil of your choice and infuse it for 2-6 weeks. That would be pure and you'll get the benefits of amla in your oils. This is how a lot of herbs are infused in oils in India.
Hi Audrey.. another Indian subscriber here. I can't get myself to use amla oil due to the smell. Try using this amla powder by mixing in you regular coconut oil or olive oil. It works way better that way.
Instead of amla paste you can just use amla water by mixing the powder with water it is beneficial for your hair and it also can be used to wash your hair.
Hi, I'm from India, and people here use this oil but it contains a heavy dose of mineral oil, and of course, the perfume. So, it is best to use pure Amla oil or one mixed with bhringraj. It does wonders for hair growth with regular use.
For the amla powder, you should apply a whole more product for your amount of hair and mixing it with warm water (not boiled!)! I am not really surprised that you did not notice that much change ... it should be generously covering your hair length! This kind of package that you got is usually good for 1 or two appliances... :) Also I find that lighly humidifying your hair prior to application helps with the product soaking in!
@@AudreyVictoria I feel apologise when you mentioned in the video, you have hairfall issues problem!!! maybe it was after your child birth.... Arganrain is awesome and after you're continuous usage of it.... Your hair grow like insane 😍
Hi. You don't need to use that much. You can put the size of dime on you hair, but NOT the scalp. You'll see more of a difference if you use the oil over 3 months at least, using the small quantities I mentioned. You can even do that daily because it's not much. Another thing you can do is drink Amla juice.
Now I tell you how my people in Pakistan use it. First wash your hair, let it dry. And now you need your brush or comb and the oil. Pour a teaspoon full of oil into your hand. Now rub your hands, then apply the oil NOT onto your sculp but onto the length of your hair. Begin to brush your hair from length to sculp. The oil helps to detangle the hair after washing. While brushing you massage the spread the oil. And remember, not onto your scalp!!! After brushing you braid your hair. Now you have moistured hair. If your head does not shine, or looks dry, then now you go over your head and apply what is left on your palms. Don‘t rinse. It gives a nice subtle smell, nourishes your hair and helps it to stay hydrated in hot dry weather. As there is lot of dust in the village it helps to keep your hair brushable up to the next washing. And you don‘t apply on sculp because your hair would become oily. Wash your hair once a week.
Hey, I'm an Indian and I love your content. I use Amla oil many times and it makes my hair voluminous. As you mentioned, that it has a strong smell, yes it has but I think you used a lot at once. You should have applied about 6-7 tablesoon spoons only. And the powder is something different because it doesn't have proper ingredients. Amla oil of any other brand would make your hair look good and creates more volume.
When I was little my best friend was Indian, they lived next door. They had a ritual where their Grandma would massage the children’s hair all the time, I had hair to my knees and the grandma would call me over to do my hair. My hair always looked great. I love my Friends family. P.S. the food is mind blowing too!
You should have problem with Moroccan oil pdts too if u have problem with this. Moroccan oil products just contain huge amounts of silicones. All the shine smoothness everything is silicone. Those molecules are too big to actually do something to your hair. They just sit on top and cause build up. The amount of argan oil in it isn't even enough to work let alone show results. These infact affects hair in long run despite regular clarifying. Mineral oil has a very similar consistency and effect as our normal sebum production on our scalp. So it can actually work just okay. Just like your clarifying shampoo has some 'toxic ingredients' but wouldn't really affect you.
It’s very popular in South Africa too (we have big Indian and Muslim communities here) and we usually leave the oil in our hair for as many days as we can.
Amla powder is to help in growth of new hair specially for ones who suffer from hairfall... It doesn't do much for hair smoothening and softening. But its powerful for hair growth. If you're using amla powder and water , you can just rinse with water instead of shampoo since it can be drying.
@@OfficialRoses because it has a lot of additional ingredients that are not necessary/good. Amla oil should only GE made of pure amla not random chemicals or dyes
Rather than applying oil and amla hair mask because it’s tooo messy.. You can just drink amla juice.. that’s what I do.. it’ll make your hair healthier and skin better as well if you drink it regularly… We have a tree of India goose berry so I make it fresh every day and drink it in a shot glass.. but there are many good brands that’ll give you amla juice which doesn’t have any preservatives.. 1 shot a day is good enough.. you can Google it’s benefits as well… ❤️❤️❤️ Love from India 🇮🇳

Happy to see, Indian culture is going around everywhere in the world now a days.... and yes, girl.... your hair is fabulous itself 😍. Okay note one point: Natural ingredients take a lil longer time to show better and stronger results as they don't contain chemicals. Suggest to use a natural product atleast for a month to get a result which you can really notice. It will not only strengthen your hair but also will increase the hair growth. But need to have patience and have to be consistent with the usage. 🥰

It bothers me when I let it because it's like a bald spot in the middle of my hairline, no real way to escape it. So my question is was your Aunt's bald spots in different places, were they a long time thing, etc? I would be ecstatic if amla could help finally fill in the spot, wondering if it might work for me. 🤞
Amla is great..We Indians are using it since very long time.and also it is great source of vit c,don't know why you don't recommended amla oil,but personally I prefer it,and instead of having market based amla oil just we create our own,to neglect all the chemical stuffs. I'm also from India and have used the oil before..I think the amla oil can be avoided..but incorporating amla in general for hair and health care is great.. not necessarily amla will make ur hair smooth and silky, but it does help in healthy hair growth and keeping away grey hair.. many Indian women have long, luscious hair and amla is an ingredient in many of our diets
Do you eat the fruit? I don’t think this fruit is available in the states. I would like to know how to use the powder. Do you put it in smoothies to eat?
Amla powder (edible one) when consumed is great for hair and skin. This is not the best amla oil out there. However, Arshia Moorjani has a great DIY amla oil recipe which works wonders if used regularly. P.S. Always strain before using DIY amla treatments. BTW love your content and the effort you put in especially being a new mom. Cheers!! 🥰
Amla powder won't work on your hair. It's mainly for your scalp. It's very effective in getting rid of dandruff, but you need to use it at least for a month.
My mom would put Amla oil in my hair every week when i was a kid and i have very long hair till my knees. I do not put any oil in my hair anymore and do not take care of them anymore. But seeing this, I might really start following my mum's advice and put Amla oil in my hair again 😂

For how long should I heat
@@melissaizaguirre9995 i would say a few minutes tbh like 5 max ..not too hot

As a desi, this gives me nostalgia. I guess this is a trend now
you guys are seriously just finding out about this. my mom has been putting this in my hair since i was child 😂😭

Dont spread our hair secrets
@@asingh8270 yes !! spread it Komal please
I’d recommend using a nozzle to apply the oil, less drip, less mess speeds up the process and really helps get any oil into the scalp
Looking at the ingredients my guess is that the amla oil you used was a cheap version. For example Khadi Amla oil's ingredients are: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower Oil) · Emblica Officinalis (Amla) · Eclipta Alba (Bringaraj) · Bacopa monniera (Brahmi) · Cyperus rotundus (Nagarmootha) · Symplocos racemosa (Lodhra) · Ocimum sanctum (Tulsi) · Azadirachta indica (Neem) · Sesamum indicum (Sesame) · Cinnamomum camphora (Camphor) · Lawsonia inermis (Henna) · Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Almond Oil) · Tocopherol (Vitamin E). There's no mineral oil, fragrance, alcohol, colourings, etc.
Khadi’s oil is a great.

Hope so 😁

You can make oil infused with the amla powder. Just put the powder in a glass container with an oil of your choice and infuse it for 2-6 weeks. That would be pure and you'll get the benefits of amla in your oils. This is how a lot of herbs are infused in oils in India.

On dry hair?? How much do you apply? I might do this since I’m sitting at home.
