Hey man, I don't know what to say after watching this. I've fished all over the west coast and my father taught me and exposed me to nature, to Alaska, kodiak, prince of wales island, and I explored Washington and Oregon on my own. We used to fish Lake Ontario and the St Lawrence. One of the last things he said to me was that we had to be careful of the future. That the way we were living was not sustainable and would be a major problem in the future. He was a biologist. The people in Seattle and Portland claim to care about the environment but other things always take more precedence, it seems. They've never seen a river they didn't want to damn up for a reservoir so more people can use it's water for drinking or power. If you want to apply pressure in the US then focus on their hypocrisy. They cry nature all the time but never put their money where their mouth is. It's depressing. Fish like hell and make up lies...
A nuther great video capt!!!! Brings lots of light to the subject.. my personal appion is it's out in the ocean, not say we couldn't do better with our river fisheries but I think the ocean gets hit really hard on both sport and commercial.. regs should reflect on both side.. if they stop the fishing for one type of fish in the sport side they should stop it on the commercial side to.. that's just my thought
Man I miss the old Captain Quinn videos. The dude was mad talented and made some of the highest quality, as well as funniest fishing videos on the internet.
Listening to the interviews, it makes a part of me feels uneasy knowing that I am out on the river to catch fish as a luxury but which may potentially take away from someone of First Nation who depend on the fish. I can try to fish less this year. Maybe one day soon there will be more than enough fish for everyone like in days past.
